Experiencia fantástica: I had a amazing experience with my hiring process. Jasmine the Activity Director was very friendly & helpful throughout the process. She guided me through the whole process. Walking into the facility the front desk receptionist was very welcoming. It’s always a clean and calm setting when I arrive to the facility.

Experiencia fantástica: The atmosphere was calming. Mrs. Anntoine had some of the best gospel music playing. I had an on the spot interview with Mrs. Mavis the DON and was hired on the spot. My hair was just taken down and she still gave me a chance especially after the experience I had been facing the prior week. I’m very grateful for them. Mrs. Bellamy was very helpful in getting my paperwork squared away and informative about what to do next

My grandmother is treated very well here and they spend quality time with the patients and interact with them with games and such. I would recommend this to any family in the Hampton area looking for a facility for their loved ones!

Experiencia fantástica: I’m happy I picked this facility for my mother to get rehab services. The therapist are amazing. The staff are always friendly and helpful every time I visit. This place is by far the cleanest rehab facility I’ve ever seen in the area. Thank you to the nurses and the therapist for helping my mom get back to being independent. You all are amazing at what you do. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs rehab.

Experiencia positiva: I agree it is a decent experience here. My one complaint is the television it is awful. Instead of cable, they have Insignia dish and the signal is terrible. Half of the available channels are permanently frozen and the ones that work are subject to temporary freezes which makes it hard to follow the story lines. The TV is the only break from the monotony of being bed fast or having limited mobility. It should be better.

Experiencia fantástica: Today is Memorial Day, a time of Remembrance. I want to remember the excellent care given to my brother recently at the Hampton Health & Rehabilitation Center. You are warmly welcomed when you enter and greeted as you leave. There, you're treated like family. Having a debilitating illness often comes with feelings of depression, and at their facility, they promote a healthy level of social interaction and participation. Weekly activities include Monday Manicures, movies, trips, games, and chair excercises are included in the morning. Their rehab specialists encourage and promote the patients as they strive their individual goals. Meals are five star quality, and are seved & delivered with care. Doctors & nursses closely monitor their patients, and staff coordinates with their physicians and arrange transport for medical appointments outside of the facility. We were impressed by the cleanliness and smooth running of their opersation. The staff worked well together and promotes and atmosphere of camaraderie and cooperation. We participated in their recent "Salute to the 60s-80s", with everyone getting into the spirit. They also offer weekly church services to also lift the soul. We wholeheartedly recommend the Hampton Health & Rehabilitation Center as a wonderful place for provided healing for your loved ones.

Experiencia fantástica: This facility is wonderful. I worked long term care for many years before I retired so Ive been in my fair share of LTC facilities. This facility is beautiful, staff have always been friendly and helpful and the facility doesn't have an oder typically associated with LTC. Also, they offer LTC and skilled care, activities every day, a courtyard, meals and snacks, just a great choice all around. I recommend highly!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve stepped foot into several rehabs and i’d have to say Hampton Health & Rehab is one of the cleanest rehabs with some of the most friendly staff members i’ve ever experienced! My grandfather was in this facility for rehab and he loved it! Becoming a staff member was probably one of the best decisions i’ve made in my life! Full of opportunities and a great environment!

Experiencia fantástica: I am sure I have posted about this before, but it was time for an updated post. My father has been a resident for nearly two years, and he has continually recieved wonderful care from all aspects of this facility, and facility is probably the wrong word to use, it is more like a home. His care is phenomenal from the nurse, the aids, the care partners, the activity folks, and the kitchen. He is always attended to and the staff always has good things to say about my dad. He is very spoiled by all. He truly loves his new HOME. Even care partners from from other parts of the facility stop in to check on him. The staff does a great job of keeping me informed about his care and any issues that arise. I have mutual friend who also works in EMS, and was doing a clinical rotation there for RN, and he stopped to check on my dad and told me he was getting awesome care, and I had nothing to worry about. Keep up the great work Unit 1 staff and all other staff or HH&R! You are all rock star!

Experiencia fantástica: I had the chance to visit this facility about a week ago. To call it a facility doesn’t seem correct because it truly felt like home. Under the leadership of Chris the building is clean, well maintained, smells good (doesn’t have a nursing home smell), and I was also impressed by the friendly staff members I met. Chris truly cares about his residents/patients and staff. Everyone was welcoming and my only regret is that I didn’t stay long enough to try their famous bagels that are baked fresh daily. Also, shoutout to Chris and his admissions team, I had a Saturday morning request for a family that needed rehabilitation and within minutes Chris had notified his team and they had the wheels rolling. I would highly recommend for anyone that needs rehab, short term, or long term stays.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could give 0 stars. Impossible to get a nurse. The attitudes are terrible. The staff doesn't recognize a patient's health worsening. The Dr. looks like he just rolled out of bed after a bender. His assessment is a joke. They are certainly not equipped to care for anyone ill. The PT folks were great! The last day my dad was there he was laying under a blanket caked with dried vomit unable to breathe. They sent him to the ED the night before for a nosebleed, which was the result of never checking the water in the humidifier for his nasal canula, and no one notified any of us. They never thought to send him out for the 30lbs of fluid he had put on in the week and a half he stayed there and the shortness of breath that it caused. They skipped breathing treatments frequently. We're not even sure if he got all of his other medications. There was no way I was going to let him stay there any longer than the moment I saw him struggling to breathe covered with dried and fresh vomit. No one I know will ever go to this horrible, heartless place! I hope it gets shut down.

Experiencia negativa: Poor communication, old equipment, say your family will get seen by provider daily, but they don't. My father (and any human being) deserves better than this. Waited in room 1.5 hours to speak with the "nurse" Brittany. She was "too busy" to respond. Gave her my number to call me.....1 hour 45 minutes later still no response. SMH. Will be calling compliance line, Director. If that fails, I'll call CMS.

Experiencia negativa: This place is horrible the CNA’s are under paid nurses have horrible attitudes no structure no team work nurses leave pills unattended in residents rooms residents are left soiled for over 12 hours the DON and administrative pretend to get to the root of the problem but doesn’t. Multiple excuses are given for the overpaid rude disrespectful nurses needs new management and administrators immediately

Experiencia negativa: Worst place to bring your loved ones. The one star was because I was forced to give it. Run as fast as you can. It is not what it appears and that’s putting it nicely. Most CNA’s could careless about the people you love. Most times residents are left sitting soiled for hours and the Administrator doesn’t care. He pretends to take your concern’s seriously and then when you are out of sight out of mind he does nothing and then trash talks to other staff about the residents and their families. The roaches are also a serious problem and they take their sweet time dealing with that and the sinks in the rooms are always leaking. This place only cares about money and absolutely does not respect the residents. Again, if you love your family members you will make other arrangements.

Experiencia positiva: My husband was sent there by his doctors two times and we had several issues due to very limited help, the facility staff tries to do there best, but there were many times where one nurse was running the show at night. My husband was supposed to be in bed 100%, other than bathroom, and he rarely could get water or ice in his room, he is diabetic and when his sugar went to low, there was rarely anything for him to eat to have to bring his sugar up. I had to bring him those supplies for night time so that he didnt go without. Thankfully i was able to get there often so that i made sure he had what he needed. The food was terrible and the coffee was so bad that the 20 days he was there, he never drank any, i would bring some from home.. When we called the facilty the first time he stayed, we had called for an itemized bill it took months to get it, we had to call and call, and finally called the administration to speak to him so that we could get a bill. On his last stay, there now doing the same thing, giving us the runaround about the bill again.. Although the facility looks good, its far from running properly, apparently they cannot keep help, and when they call people in when someone calls out, no one wants to come in.. This is a bad sign. If you want facilities like this to run better, you need to take care of your staff. This last time there on April 14, 2016, although on a pic line and new his was being transfered from the hospital there, he was there by 6 in the evening, and the only thing he got for meds was insulin, because he begged for it, I was told that he had not been transfered so he probably would not get his meds till the next day. I found that to be totally ridiculous. My husband had mercer, and to get his antibiotics he had to wait till the next day. To me that was totally unacceptable. This place needs to step it up on there medical care.. While he was there although he couldnt bathe on his own, was rarely helped to get in the bath and washed up..

Experiencia negativa: 20 years ago this place was top of the line but once saber bought it it went down in the toilet like everything else that saber owns. Saber takes the good and makes it bad, takes the bad and makes it worse. Avoid at all costs.

Experiencia negativa: I come to visit my family member three times a week at different times I'm a firm believer family presence is important. The call bells are going off all the time with staff sitting behind the nurses station eating, laughing, joking I experienced a worker on FaceTime this place is very unprofessional you're already short of help.Not understanding why the nurses can't help the aids it takes a village. I just wonder how they would feel If it was their family member be in it for the right reason nursing is from the heart.

Experiencia negativa: My sister was taken to this place at 533 p.m. from the time that she arrived the only person she seen for 4 hours was the CNA. Her sugar went up to 345, her womb vac. Was not set up. Bed was not working. Today is her second day. Womb vac not yet set up. Her sugar was was not yet address, it went up to 500+. Her husband had to bring her own medication from home. Just remember all ratings are not good ratings.

Experiencia fantástica: When my 80 year old Mother became critically ill in January 2022 with COVID pneumonia encephalopathy and was hospitalized for nearly two weeks we were devastated. She then had to be transferred to a nursing home/rehabilitation center for continued care. Hospital discharge planners were excellent at Riverside but there is not always a lot of facilities to choose from. Hampton Health and Rehab Center in Hampton, VA was one of the few choices and I am so grateful we chose this facility for her care. From the moment you walk into the center you are greeted by the amazing front office staff. These girls truly made me feel like family. Always had a warm smile and kind face to greet families. Thank you Antoinette and all!! The care Mom received from the nursing department as well as physical therapy department was outstanding. This team of professionals never failed to keep me abreast of any changes or her progress. During these unprecedented times one may expect less than stellar care but they gave just the opposite. They truly rehabilitated her from being bedbound to walking and functioning on her own again. It doesn't take long for a person to lose strength when they are critically ill. Mom was up walking, driving, shopping alert and oriented person like anyone else until she became ill. The next 6 weeks she spent at this facility after being discharged from the hospital were crucial in her recovery. We are thrilled at the care she received and how much she improved after being here. She never had any skin breakdown or falls. The facility was always very clean and never smelled bad. As a nurse myself for 30+ years these are very important. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Mom said if she ever had to go to a nursing home again that she wants to come back to Hampton Health and Rehab. I could go on and on about how much I admire, respect and how grateful I am for their service. Not only were the staff above and beyond but to meet the administrators and see them rounding on the units was very impressive. I have worked in nursing homes and hospitals during my career and you rarely see this occur. Thanks so much to both Silvania/Adminitrator and Justin/Social worker. Your authentic care for the patients shows. Also must mention (and I apologize if I miss anyone) : Nurses Jamie, Joyce and Evie; Nursing assistants: Sharon, Magaly, Erica, Miriam and Mom's all time FAVORITE Deon! Physical therapy head Nicole and her fabulous team: Avery, Jessica and Tyler; also the very kind and hardworking Kamal for always keeping the room/halls/facility clean and bringing a smile to Mom's face when you entered her room to clean and talk to her about her kitties. Although I never met the dietary department they deserve a huge thank you for helping nourish and heal all of the residents. Also, for taking the time to read hand written food requests and honoring them. That meant so much to my Mom. Lastly, Dr. Taylor and Joanne, RN, FNP you both make an amazing team. Thanks for everything and listening to my concerns and suggestions. You are ALL very much appreciated. Experiencia fantástica: My husband came here after a month long hospital stay, to build up his strength and rehab. I read through reviews from several centers, and all had good and bad. I am very glad we chose Hampton Health and Rehab! They worked with him both physically and helped him emotionally by being kind and caring. We were on Ward 2 - and all the staff were great - but a special shout out to Dion, she went above and beyond. It was a pleasure for my husband and I to get to know Dion, she is a very special lady. Experiencia fantástica: This is the very first nursing home that I must say truly cares about the pts first and staff. The administrator comes out of her office and works the floor without hesitation and in heels no less. The DON is easy going and understands life happens you help her she helps you and I love that. The ADON is absolutely the best. She makes this easy. The receptionist is your first impression of the building and she puts you at ease no matter the situation. Admissions coordinator is very thorough with communication with staff and families. Our interim HR woman does it all. She literally is the glue that keeps the building together. I’m quite happy with my decision.

Experiencia fantástica: After having an extremely bad experience at another Health and Rehab for my father, we were crossing our fingers that Hampton Health and Rehab would be up to par. Boy were they! They have an extremely helpful staff all around and were very attentive to my father’s needs. The facility is very clean and much more uplifting and cheerful in the way of attitude and friendliness of staff when compared to the pryer facility my father was at. Such a breath of fresh air for my father, myself and my siblings. Really can’t say enough about how happy we were with everyone there! Thank you ALL for the great care my father received! It is much appreciated! Our only regret is that we did not find this facility sooner!

Experiencia negativa: My aunt is currently a resident here and been in isolation for covid 19 precautions since Friday of last week. They claim the phone in isolation is broken and they assured my mother they would get her phone for communication means. Its been 6 days and still haven't received any communication since then. Unacceptable! I am so tired of the excuses this place is providing. Over and over the treatment of these residents is beyond awful and needs to be reviewed. I get we are in trying times but we need to ensure our loved ones are taken care of and are given adequate items for communication.

Experiencia positiva: I just want to say thank you to all the staff. Working in the medical field myself I can say that despite all the challenges we are all facing, this facility is doing a good job taking care of people. Therapy was absolutely fantastic, thanks to them my dad is now home and safe. The facility was clean and every staff member we encountered was pleasant and willing to help. Deon and Myriam were incredible. My dad could not stop talking about how amazing these two nursing aides were and how they treated him like family. Toby in admissions and Johnathan in social services have been so helpful and friendly. Even the office manager Sylvina stoped what she was doing to help out. I could tell that the staff there genuinely care. The only reason why I am only giving a 4 star is the food. It was OK but not great(I should probably mention that my dad is a picky eater).
Experiencia negativa: Week day staff are great. Friday through Sunday night staff are inhumane. Her first night there, my mom hit the call button at 2am for pain meds and assistance to walk to the bathroom. My mom in pain forced herself to hobble to use the bathroom. Upon her return she could not get back into bed. She yelled for help and a recovering patient across the hall, came to assist her back in bed. No nurse showed up to her room until 4am. The 4am nurse ignored her request for pain meds. She did not get any pain meds that day until 12:00pm despite her meds were available. The Nursing Director was great and sinceré to the complaint but it did not change the weekend neglect. The next weekend, another nurse felt bothered that my mom was asking assistance to get back in bed to go to sleep because this nurse was conversing with another staff member. This nurse yelled at my mom and stated she rudely interjected her conversation and told her to go back to her room. My mom asked for bed assistance again at 12:10AM, this nurse ignored my mom and decided it was more important to sweep the nurse’s station floor. She had my mom sit in her wheelchair for hours, despite requests for bed assistance. This nurse entered my mom’s room around or about 1am, became verbally aggressive toward my mom who had called the nursing director via telephone to complain about this nurse’s poor attitude and not providing bed assistance. This same nurse deliberately withheld my mom’s pain meds on Friday night and all day Saturday. This nurse told my mom her pain meds were not available despite the medical records showed her pain meds were available. If you love your love ones do not send them to Hampton Health and Rehab. The social worker there is also incompetent and provided me with untruthful information. The complaint number provided in some of these responses simply forward the complaint to the facility.

Experiencia negativa: This Facility Lacks the Basics which is Communication. No departments communicates with each other . They will leave the patient and the patients Family out in the dark.They have low budget meals no will want to eat. No set policies and Procedures. Run and never look back.

Experiencia negativa: My father had the worst experience here. We found another place after about 2 weeks for better and consistent care. His dressings were to be changed daily. They missed a day, wrapping on his arm and hand had not been done correctly and on follow up with his provider from the burn unit noted the wrapping was causing a contracture of one of his fingers. He of course fixed it. My father was left in his urine and bowel movement too long before changing. Despite my many calls for an administrator or Director of nursing I did not get a response until I told whoever answered the phone that I had called the state to complain. I got a call back and the administrator asked me to contact her with any concerns before I called the state. Well, despite my many attempts to call and leave messages I did not hear back from the administrator or Director of nursing again. They have a serious administrative and process problem at Hampton rehab. Think twice before you admit a loved one to this facility.

Experiencia fantástica: My aunt is at Saber Hampton Health & Rehab. The employees there are so friendly. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Steven is my aunt’s aid and he is wonderful, & easy to approach. I love the way he cleans her up, & checks in on us when we visit. Steven actually puts clothes on her instead of leaving her in a gown all day. It’s the little things that matter.
Experiencia negativa: My father is at the facility and I’m in the process today to remove him. I would not let a rat live there let alone a human being. He has been neglected, yelled at things pulled out of his hands at 4:00 in the morning cause that’s when they thought it would be a good time to tidy his room& they never answer the phone.. they are short staff on the weekends. It got so bad that I’ve called the police on them twice!!! Don’t send your family member there..find a better facility!!

Experiencia negativa: The only good thing I can say is it dose not smell. The staff are not attentive and don't seem to be available. They do not check up on the patients who need to be looked in on. I asked an aide to please put my sister in the bed fromher wheelchair before I left because she could fall trying to get up. The aide told me if she fell she would not get very far. How sarcastic. When her husband complained he was told that I must have made it up! Hopefully she will be moved out of this he'll hole soon.

Experiencia negativa: The nurses and the other staff are great!! The social worker on the other hand was very rude and unsympathetic. I know she has a job to do but she's dealing with fragile families. We had to get an approval from the insurance company, to extend our loved one's stay. So we did because we felted like they weren't ready to come home, but before we got a decision our loved one was taken to the emergency room. So that same day she calls and says "He's been approved" and hangs up. How can you be so rude to people that are already in a sad situation. So, about a day later we decided to take our loved one home when they get discharged from the hospital. We went to get our loved one things from there room and tell the social worker or who ever about our change in plans. We got to our loved one's room and the room was cleaned. Now, our loved one was approved thru the insurance company to stay there until Thursday, it was Monday. Why was their things moved and then we were approved by the insurance to extend there stay. We walk to the nurse's station to ask for our loved one's belongings, to find them in a storage closet throwed in the corner. Why would they remove our loved one's belongings if they were approved to stay?
Experiencia negativa: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I wouldn't even send an animal here. Place smells of urine. Medicine is administered when the nurses feel like it. Staff is lazy and lack of empathy for the patients/ seniors. Seniors yelling for help, yelling to use the bathroom. Staff just sits there hearing the buzzer. They should be investigated for their behavior and treatment of the seniors.
Experiencia negativa: My mother had a worrible experience throughout her 3 week stay at the rehab facility. On the first day she was admitted to the facility she did not receive any of her medications. She would ring the call button and did not receive help from the nurse until 15-20 minutes later. There were several times were family members would have to assist her with using the bathroom because the nurses would not attend to her. Several of the nurses were not compassionate and sympathetic which created a very depressing environment for my mother as she felt she was alone at all times. The hand hygiene was horrible and we would see nurse go from one room to another without using any sanitation practices. When my mother was prescribed a new medication it would take 1-2 days before she received the medication. The nurses would not follow the time of administration and would administer the meds 2-3 hours after the scheduled time. We heard several compliments from residents that they would not receive help from the CNA. If I could rate this place a negative I would. The management team was horrible and did not resolve the issues in a timely manner. I HIGHLY ADVISE ANYONE CONSIDERING PLACING THEIR LOVED ONE HERE TO LOOK AT OTHER FACILITIES!!!!
Experiencia negativa: I called to check on a resident, phone rang at nurses station, option 1 on phone menu for approximately 3 min 22 seconds. I ended up having to hang up. Maybe you'll have better luck.
Experiencia negativa: There are people that are very good. Meals not so good. Kind of sad when you need someone to come to see you and you wait a hour. There is a very severe problem. Say you ring the buzzer because you need someone quickly. Waiting time can be a long time. Then you have no other way to contact someone. This is not good at all. Particularly if some Passes away.
Experiencia positiva: My husband was sent there by his doctors two times and we had several issues due to very limited help, the facility staff tries to do there best, but there were many times where one nurse was running the show at night. My husband was supposed to be in bed 100%, other than bathroom, and he rarely could get water or ice in his room, he is diabetic and when his sugar went to low, there was rarely anything for him to eat to have to bring his sugar up. I had to bring him those supplies for night time so that he didnt go without. Thankfully i was able to get there often so that i made sure he had what he needed. The food was terrible and the coffee was so bad that the 20 days he was there, he never drank any, i would bring some from home.. When we called the facilty the first time he stayed, we had called for an itemized bill it took months to get it, we had to call and call, and finally called the administration to speak to him so that we could get a bill. On his last stay, there now doing the same thing, giving us the runaround about the bill again.. Although the facility looks good, its far from running properly, apparently they cannot keep help, and when they call people in when someone calls out, no one wants to come in.. This is a bad sign. If you want facilities like this to run better, you need to take care of your staff. This last time there on April 14, 2016, although on a pic line and new his was being transfered from the hospital there, he was there by 6 in the evening, and the only thing he got for meds was insulin, because he begged for it, I was told that he had not been transfered so he probably would not get his meds till the next day. I found that to be totally ridiculous. My husband had mercer, and to get his antibiotics he had to wait till the next day. To me that was totally unacceptable. This place needs to step it up on there medical care.. While he was there although he couldnt bathe on his own, was rarely helped to get in the bath and washed up..
Experiencia negativa: I give Sentara Nursing & Rehabilitation a poor rating. My father was admitted on 9/23/2013 after his knee replacement surgery. The PT and OT staff are great! The nurses, I will let my comments/expereince speak for it self and about the facility. On 9/24/2013 my father was complaining about his catheter hurting him.. When the nurse came in, she had told him b/c he had 2 more hours left on the CPU unit. (For his knee exercise). She would come back then too remove the catheter. She could have stopped the CPU machine to remove the catheter and then re started the machine. The nurse removed the catheter @ 5:00 pm after I called the nurses station and made some noise. My father had been complaining about the catheter since 2:00 pm when I first spoke to him Later that night.( 9/24/2013) my father called the nurse around 11:00 p.m wanting his pain medicine, about 15 minutes later he used the bathroom on his self. He called the nurse again for the second time after he used the bathroom again on his self.. Needless to say. My father had to lay in his urine from 11:00 pm 9/24/2013 to 8:30 am 9/25/2013 and did not get his pain med's until then.
