Experiencia negativa: They canceled my appointment 13 hours before I was supposed to get a back injection that I’ve been waiting 3 months for, don’t tell me why, can’t reschedule, can’t even get a hold of anybody in the office and they go home early. I’ve been calling them for two days. They just put you on a hold and then they’ll pick up and hang up or send you to their third-party scheduling service who has no idea what they’re doing. The third-party scheduler say they’ll call back and I have not received a single phone call.
Experiencia fantástica: I came today to get a nerve test done. I’m a 40 something big baby when it comes to needles. Dr. Nataly Montes-Chinea and Dr. Mathew Spinks were to the most kind and amazing Dr.’s I’ve seen in a long time. They went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable. I am truly thankful for them.

Experiencia negativa: Doctor was uninformed of my conditions, provided no actual help other than trying to sell me on more injections which I’ve had and did not work. Apparently asking for pain medication that works gets you booted. No communication and they don’t care about you in the least, you’re an object to extract $$$ from

Experiencia negativa: I would leave negative stars if I could. The Hippocratic Oath says do no harm but that's all this practice knows apparently. I was seen in December and told to come back in 2 months (like I have been doing for the past 4 years in a different practice). I noticed in January no refills were put on my medication. I began calling 1/7 and left several messages. No return call. Desperate in 1/17 I call the front desk, they advise using the follow my health has better results. So I sign up then they transfer me to nurse who basically tells me I'm SOL I have to be seen monthly and no appointments are available until after the original follow up I've already scheduled. Well, if that's the case why did they tell me to schedule an appointment 2 months out? She then tells me doc isn't in and she's going to be out of office. Do you have any idea what it does to someone who has had the medicine daily for 4 years to suddenly go without? And since you are locked into a contract with them NO other doctor will help. I have sent repeated messages on the follow my health and have received NO response. I have asked to be released from Contract so that I can seek care elsewhere, No response. Yet my health files are updated regularly on the app. I wonder if there is a formal board we can complain to. Not one person deserves to live with the pure hell this practice outs them through. I'm highly suggest you find care elsewhere.
Experiencia negativa: It is very sad for me to leave a poor rating. I had been seeing Dr. Krishna B. Topalli, MD for more than a year with no problems. Dr. Tapalli moved to EVMS more the three months ago and I still have not see him. I have made two appointments only to arrive and find out my appointment was changed and no one called. The receptionist was courteous but I not helpful at all and they rescheduled my appointment for three weeks later. How will that help me if your office already messed up my last two appointments. I am keeping my appointment only to tell Dr. Topalli how bad it is. After that I will move to another pain management office. I suggest calling and verifying your appointment before taking the time off work for nothing.
Experiencia positiva: Date is 10 1821 just received a call from the patient advocate counselor at the VMS pain management center and it seems that they’re trying to help my father out and get them back in the program he was discharged wrongfully but hopefully I’m getting a call this afternoon hopefully with the message of him being reinstated because he’s been without his medicine for about quite some time I pray that they do the right thing and we Spoke to Miss Harris contact number 451-6200 I know it was very hard getting a hold of this place before they have gotten a lot better let’s hope they do the right thing

Experiencia fantástica: I have received the very best treatment since my Ischemic Stroke December 6, 2017. I’ve come a long ways with the help of Dr.Beverly Roberts Atwater. Her bedside manners are awesome. I Thank God, for her expertise and care for me when I was hospitalized. She is currently my physician and cares for me throughout my recovery.

If Hell had a doctor’s office it would be a million times better than this place. They need to be reported to the State Medical Board and shut down, that’s how bad it is. Steer Clear!

Experiencia negativa: I am also giving a 1 because it is required. The level of compassion and professionalism is poor. I am my 83 year old mother's caregiver and am not allowed in the room with her. She waits in the room for two hours and is told by the doctor she should bring a book next time. If you need to speak to someone the voicemail mail states that you will be contacted within 48 hours , that does not happen. If you leave a message in the online portal they are very slow to respond as well. I would not recommend to anyone. I hope they will at some point address these issues at some point, it's a shame that patients have to endure this level of care.
Experiencia negativa: 4 drs left. No replacements. New staff is rude and mouthy. I was a 4 year patient. Never failed a test or missed a count. Hospitalized for surgery couldn't do a random drug screen was released from program. Theyre using any reason to release people because the staff is awful n there's no doctors left but the main one and some temp. They did me wrong. I know other honest people with necessary conditions warranting opoids also pushed out from out of the normal calls or spontaneous conditions and they knew previous appt I was going in for surgery. Dirty playing just to force patients out. They will be shutdown soon anyway because of the anti opiod politicians. But sadly these rude n hateful staff deserve it. I feel for the actual caring staff who were nice to me over the years. But their gone or on the outs. Its disgraceful n shameful how they have done this forced reduction of patients. Especially knowing there are no clinics taking new patients to go to. Just released. No taper down. Guess they want you to suicide or buy off the streets. They dont care obviously and thats what hurts. Honest people don't deserve such poor treatment.
Experiencia negativa: I’m giving this place one star because it’s required. That one star goes to Antonnette Villaflor for her professionalism and pleasant demeanor. She is the best. There was one other staff member, Barbara Hadden who is no longer there, who deserves honorable mention. The rest of those clowns should take a long walk off a short pier. They have no regard for patients’ time or plights. Their mission is to find a reason to discharge no matter what condition it leaves the patient in. They think all patients who come there are drug addicts and they treat them as such. Thank God I have an understanding, compassionate doctor who cares about me and picked up my treatment where these degenerates tried to drop me. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to go. These people will just mistreat you.
Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to EVMS Pain Management for 9 years now and I feel that Dr. Quidgley-Nevares and PA Villaflor-Zitouni have been very good to me. They always take the time to listen to any problems I may have and they prescribe the best medication possible to help me with my pain. If one thing doesn't work then they will work to make sure that something else may help. They are very caring, compassionate, and understanding. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for excellent doctors to help them with there chronic pain issues. When circumstances places you in a situation that you have no control of it is good to have doctors that will treat you with the upmost respect and care to help you manage your pain and navigate during your time in need. I have also seen Dr. Roberts-Atwater when I could not get an appointment to see my 2 regular doctors and she had shown me the same treatment as they have. She was also great at listening to my concerns and assisting me by prescribing the best medication and dosage that would benefit me the most. I would also like to thank the staff for being professional and kind. That goes for Ikram the young lady who has assisted me with my appointments. She made sure that I was able to see PA Villaflor-Zitouni in a quickly. Again all and all I am satisfied with the level of care that I receive from EVMS Pain Management. Thank you for everything.

Experiencia fantástica: I started going to evms in July 2020. I had suffered in pain for about 8 years and put off as long as I could entering into a pain management program. Dr. Bergsten made me feel so comfortable. He is so kind and helpful. I get my injections from Dr . Quidgley and his staff and again they are so kind and I feel completely safe. Yesterday the young lady in the office, Ikram was so nice and very helpful too. I heard horror stories about people going to other places and I’m so glad I chose Evms.

Experiencia fantástica: I had THE MOST WONDERFUL phone call today with Ms. Ikram. She is an absolute GEM! EVMS and all of the patients are EXTREMELY lucky to have her. I called the front desk today and spoke with Ms. Ikram about scheduling an appointment for my Dad. She is truly doing her best to create a more positive experience for the patients. She was so helpful, and I could tell that she has a big heart for the patients. She was positive and understanding, and listened to what my Dad needed. In this pandemic, where everything in life has been so stressful, she made us feel at ease. I cannot say enough good things about her. If she is not a supervisor for the front desk, she definitely should be! Because everyone can learn from her kindness and example. Give this woman a raise! A bonus! Extra vacation time! Because EVMS is lucky to have her! THANK YOU MS. IKRAM!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Ikram front desk receptionist was very nice. Greeted me with a smile. Her front desk etiquette was professional and she assisted me immediately and I didn’t have to wait. She answered any questions I had and asked if I needed any further assistance. It makes a difference when you are greeted in such a manner that makes a difference in your day. You never know what a person is going through on the other end hidden behind their smile. Ikram thanks for being caring and assisting to my needs on today. You truly made a difference in the workplace. I wish it were more people with your professionalism and work etiquette. The doctors and nurse staff are great. I’m glad they are taking care of my medical needs.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke. 3:15 appt, here it is 5:10 and still not seen. Last month was put into a room and forgotten about for over an hr. The Dr's can't handle the work load. DO NOT GO HERE! Had to put a star but they don't deserve any. They need to be closed down. Let us patients who really need the help have somewhere better to go with better care

Experiencia negativa: I was referred here about 5 years ago. There were some issues that I kept quiet about, but nothing major. Now, just in the last few months I've waited for a tele-appointment for Hours multiple times. They disconnected the last one, but blamed me. I asked to see an Actual Dr. last month. Anybody but Atwater, based on the one time I previously saw her and she spent the entire appointment calling me a liar, only to finally run across Exactly what I was saying on her computer. An apology? No, she just left the room. I asked to see Anybody but her and was told she is now the ONLY Dr. there (Dr. Quidgley-Navarres had always seen me). Again, not even close to true. Finally, when they gave me no choice but to see her,, she made the comment "the candy shop is closing"! REALLY? I know there are some bad apple patients, but Everybody is seen the same! Despite having a 5 year "Clean" Record. Please, if u want to be treated like a human being and with some Basic respect, Go Somewhere Else. So much more to say, but it won't matter. PS, since switching from the self proclaimed Candy Shop Keeper, I had back surgery on Aug. 22nd at Norfolk General. After 2 more MRIs, several bulging discs from lower back to upper-middle. Spinal Stenosis. Spinal Degeneration. Still have arthritis in Every joint, and bloodwork is showing issues with my C Reactive Protein and Lymphocyte counts, meaning tissue inflammation. This could mean Rheumatoid Arthritis, amongst other things. I guess this is what REAL Dr.s check on, as opposed to a Candy Counter. Stay Away from Dr. Atwater if u are a Real, Legit patient!!!

Experiencia negativa: EVMS (Dr.Kwon) had me report to her office and give a drug screening and my test was negative a couple weeks later Dr Kwon sent me to Sentara Williamsburg (I live in Williamsburg) to have another drug screening the test came back positive/negative . The patient advocate at Sentara told me the test Dr Kwon ordered was not the right test. EVMS has released me due their error. This is caused me anguish.
Experiencia negativa: I am so ashamed that a Pain medicine office like EVMS doesn’t have higher standards for goodness safe they are a teaching medical school. The ladies that run the run deck are vey rude, unsympathetic, and very unwilling to help at all. It’s very sad. My Primary Doctor has had the same staff for years and they are helpful and so polite. EVMS staff need to be in a different line of work. The people that are being seen suffer chronic bad debilitating pain and they act as if you stomped you toe. One receptionist with an accent got very mad when I told her I could not understand what she was saying and I have a strong southern accent and she don’t understand me so I ask to speak to someone else she got very defensive and practically took my head off.They just can’t to ever find any good staff that take their patients medical condition into account. They would do good just to replace them all or find the worse one to show the others that they are not putting up with the bad service all of them are giving patients. Read the reviews there is absolutely not many good ones. Worse Stuff in Hampton Roads.

Experiencia negativa: Only reason i gave one star is because thats the lowest i could go. They are a very minus zero organization. Have been with them for years only because i had no other option. Their medical care is HORRIBLE. Their portal, which they encourage you to use is AWFUL and the staff answering emails have NO CLUE....its like talking to a door. Dont even TRY calling because you will never get an answer. I held on for 45 minutes one day and the call disconnected. They went from bad to AWFUL in a few years and now blames everything on Covid. Their newest trick is not showing up for a telehealth appt then charging patient $50 for a no show. Then they call you and threaten if you dont pay the $50 you cannot get another appt nor prescription.

Experiencia negativa: Front office management is awful. Appointments are poorly handled and mismanaged. Too few providers to handle the large patient load. Patients can be discharged for getting upset with office personnel for issues they have caused. Situations attempting to correct issues with medical personnel are met with denials and outright refusals. Front office or medical personnel rarely if ever call back whatsoever. If you have a choice, find someone else.
Experiencia negativa: It’s impossible to get someone to answer the phone! If you can make an appointment they will cancel the appointment without notice and with no reason! I’m trying to find a new doctor. I would not recommend.
Experiencia negativa: Docs are great, but something is seriously wrong. Twice, I have been checked into the virtual waiting room, and waited for hours. No one came on, even tho I waited for hours. I get that things go wrong, but even if every phone in the office goes down, people have phones they can use to call the patient, to let them know. The doctors here did seem to care, as did some of the staff. I always went in when they called. My pill counts and urine checked out. I missed an appointment about 2 years ago. The office has changed appointments on me, but even though I can no longer drive, I found rides to get there. I am not sure why they have made it a requirement to be seen monthly with their video visits, but I'm fine with it. What I cannot understand is why they could not furnish me with meds, until another visit could be arranged, esp. since the fault was theirs, not mine. I just wanted consideration as human being, but was told not to curse (I don't) and not to message them, after sending 2 messages and getting no answer. No one answers the phone, and it has been like that for over a week. It's a hassle to change docs, but I have to. I liked Dr. Atwater very much, but someone on the staff was incredibly rude, and they left me with no meds.
Experiencia negativa: The ONLY reason they're getting a 1 star from me is because that's the only way to leave a review. My husband was in a BAD motorcycle accident in May. When I say bad, I mean he shouldn't be here right now. He's still completely bedbound. I can't get ahold of them in a timely manner for appts & when they do make appts, they don't keep them. As we were on a video appt yesterday 9/1/20, & waited 4 hours before his phone died. That was at 8:15pm. Now they've updated his chart as a "No Show" when in fact the dr was a No Show. He's completely out of pain meds & can't even continue his physical & occupational therapy to get out of bed without his pain/nerve meds. Yet they have an updated weight & whatnot for him. Oh & the dr wrote an ambulatory summary for yesterday too? Makes NO sense at all. They DON'T care about their patients it seems.
Experiencia negativa: I have been going to EVMS pain clinic now for 3 years. Ever since Covid 19 the staff has been just atrocious. The App they want you to use does not connect me to Dr. Kwons practice so therefore i missed 2 video appts. The scheduler appointment woman was unprofessional rude and told me basically i was discharged because of 2 no shows. She disconnected me after talking like 2 minute s. Haven't had a refill of meds for over a month now. In wihdrawal. Terrible customer service. .thinking of going anywhere else.
Experiencia negativa: Something corrupt is going down in this office. No one is answering phones, voice-mails full,and there is hardly anyone in the office to help. They aren't refilling prescriptions,and worst of all THEY ARE LYING ON PATIENTS BY SAYING YOU HAVE APPOINTMENTS WHEN YOU DONT AND KICKING THEM OUT OF THE PROGRAM FOR A NO-SHOW (MISSED URINE TEST). Even if they did kick a patient out, they aren't supposed to do so without giving you one last script so you have a chance to find another doctor or go to rehab. They didn't do any of this. Ppl are going to the hospital for withdrawals because of being fraudulently discharged or because they can't get ahold of anyone to get their prescription. If you are a victim of this help spread the awareness by calling local news, and state and board officials. I WILL be taking any action necessary for their corrupt dangerous actions. My grandma has been on opioids for pain for that last 8 years and now she has nothing!!!!!! She's 75
Experiencia negativa: UPDATE - It has been more than a month since I was discharged from this practice. I am STILL waiting on the "letter" they told me would be sent to me. In the meantime, I have been unable to secure an appointment with the practice I have been referred to, which also means I am going to run out of my medication shortly without recourse. *** The ONLY reason this practice is getting a single star at all is because the physicians are decent. For three years I have been a compliant patient of this practice, attending my scheduled appointments, never EVER needing a medication refill early, never complaining for needing to take a full morning off from work for a first of the morning appointment because they are overbooked, only a mild gripe when they started telling patients federal law now required appointments every 30 days (not true), and a slight complaint after I was forced to go without my medication twice for 10 days at a time due to lack of adequate staffing and a computer glitch largely due to the COVID-19 shut down. Although I, as a patient, have been asked to be lenient, forgiving, and understanding when THEY have issues, and I cannot get anyone by phone, fax, app messenger, or e-mail, the same standard is not applied to their patients. Regretfully, due to a technology snafu, and a voice mail that was delivered this morning, I was discharged from this practice without any thought or care or consideration. Only a heartless “sorry ma’am as of yesterday you’re not in compliance. We gave you all day yesterday, (again not true. Voice Mail time stamp is 10:49 a.m.) and if you had showed up even by 4:35, I would have helped you. You going back and forth with me isn’t going to change anything.” The Office Manager couldn’t be bothered because she was in a meeting and annoyed she was disturbed. I received the voice mail notification at 6:15 a.m. I was in their office by 7:30 a.m. I was willing to have them take whatever test they needed, but no. No consideration for a technology glitch, or worse, what if my employer would have refused to let me off from work? I understand having a signed agreement, but when the practice makes it impossible to provide continuity of care, a solid, reliable method of communication, blames technology and COVID, but refuses to grant a COMPLIANT patient the same courtesy there is a big problem. I am now left to to try and figure the situation out on my own, as there are NO clinics accepting new patients at this time, and most do not offer my treatment regimen. There is no way to reach out to the medical staff. There is a Hippocratic Oath these physicians take but this practice seems to delight in violating it whenever convenient, and I do not believe it is the medical staff. The staff I dealt with this morning seemed to enjoy the power they held and the position they were in, while I stood there helpless to the situation wrought by technology, and their absolute lack of empathy, or compassion.
Experiencia negativa: Had a videoconference schedule for today at 930 still waiting for the provider called the office sat on hold for 21/2 hours cause they go to lunch at 12 until 1 then i call back at 115 an still waiting for someone to pick up the phone an it is 345 an videoconference says still waiting for the provider so what the hell are we suppose to do all the mailboxes are full so what the hell are you doing i can tell you not a damn thing
Experiencia negativa: my husband went to have his pain pump refilled today and because they had technical difficulties on a telemed two times in a row they are trying to discontinue his service but my husband was logged into the telehealth kept saying. You'll be right with you. You're never came on they said they'll continue to refill his pump for 6 months

Experiencia negativa: Impossible to reach. Unable to schedule appointments. Voicemail boxes are full. My physical and occupational therapist can't reach them either. I had one appointment with them which was through a referral from my PCP, the doctor acted as if pain medicine for me as a paraplegic was unnecessary unless I was in therapy. Now that I'm in therapy I can't get in contact with the doctor at all to get a prescription. I appointment desk leave you on hold for hours literally and no one picks up.
Experiencia negativa: Physical Pain Management Clinic is a high volume Pain Clinic with a lot of people attempting to game the system. But the staff act rudely at times, dont smile. Are very suspicious. The front office clerks can be slow, people are disabled and there are no chairs to sit. Not good if you have a back injury or leg injury and can not stand.
Experiencia negativa: I have had so many problems with this office. First year they wear amazing. I commute 45 mins and would have recommended them to anyone. I'm in my 2nd year of treatment on disability due to numerous spine disorders..today after a 2 hour wait for a video call told unless I had a cancer diagnosis they wanted to remove me off my opiate medications. I don't think anyone has ever viewed my medical records ever or emails. I just can comprehend the poor management of this office. Things just aren't making sense to me at all. I have several diagnosis hence when I'm on disability. Just amazed me. Wish someone would be honest about what's going on with the practice.
Experiencia negativa: Has anyone spoke to management about these problems of not being able to speak with someone in the office, sitting on hold for hours, the staff not being polite and helpful, mailboxes being full so you can't leave a message. No one responding to messages left on Follow My Health, not being able to get refills on your medication and the staff not caring if you go into withdrawals and the list goes on and on...
Experiencia negativa: They don't deserve 1star! My 65yr old mother has not been with them 1year and this is the second time she has suffered withdrawal due to their negligence. The staff treat her like a junkie, they are rude and uncaring. Those Doctors and their patients deserve a caring staff. These are suffering human beings, have some manners if nothing else.
Experiencia negativa: This place doesn't deserve a one star rating! Patients wait for HOURS on hold and then are hung up on or sent to a voicemail that is full! Patients are put under scrutiny to follow all pain management guidelines only to be neglected, ignored, and told it's not their problem. The management needs to be removed and replaced with people who care about patient care and customer service.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give no stars I would. Starting back on May the screwed up my prescription. If you called they wouldn't answer, all mail boxes full or you sit on hold for over an hour. My insurance company helped me call them. I also sent a message on the portal the same day they wrote the prescription and the pharmacy sent over no less than 5 request for them to fix the prescription. After almost a month my insurance company called my PCP and she wrote it for me. My insurance company finally had gotten someone on the phone to make my appointment. The day of my appointment they finally answered my email. After that appointment at the end of May. On June 3rd I told the doctor about the problem. She did have them email me an appointment date. July 3rd @10:15 the same day I ran out of pain meds. This time it was not a phone visit it had to be in person to take a urine test. I get there that morning only to find 8 others standing outside. The office was closed. Well now I'm out of medication and if you called you still get all mailboxes full. The weekend was rough cone Monday I'm in full withdrawals and no one would answer the phones at the office. By Tuesday I was in the ER. The ER doctor called them and couldn't get anyone. They even had resident there that work in the that office called and they couldn't get anyone to answer them. your. Comes back in the room and told me that they have a list of people that will be getting calls from the pain management doctor because I was not the first to come in to Norfolk general because my prescription ran out and was having withdrawals. My ER visit wason July 7th July 24th and I still have not heard from pain management doctor.
Experiencia negativa: It took a year and 10 months to get a call from the first time that my doctor sent a referral. Not even a year later, I have repeatedly fallen through the cracks. I wanted help for my pain, that did not include throwing pills at the problem. Those concerns fell on deaf ears. I still chose to go to the appointments, when I could get through to schedule one, but today was the final straw for me. I scheduled off work, and waited with the Follow My Health app open to start my appointment. Someone came on and took my pain level and current weight and said the doctor would be right with me. She never was. And just now I get an update from the app with details for today's appointment.... WHAT APPOINTMENT?! I've canceled my future appointment with them ( through the app), and will not be using them again. I didn't get so much as a phone call from them, and spent much of my day attempting to reach them by phone. I understand that things are more complicated with the current pandemic, but the lack if patient care and communication is 100% unacceptable. UPDATE: One month later and I just received a bill for a MISSED APPOINTMENT! The appointment in which the doctor never was on and the app closed down the session! This is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any medical office.
Experiencia negativa: I understand we are in a pandemic but there should be people available to answer the phones. We have tried for 2 days to get a pain proscription refilled. No one answers and the mailbox is full. When we finally got someone on the phone they told my wife she had to use the portal and watch a video! She should have taken care of it! I went to the portal, there is no place that references EVMS rehabilitation anywhere in her portal! No way to renew a prescription! Back to the phones, now at 3 hours! .
Experiencia positiva: I love my doctors but I have tried for the last 2 weeks to get an appointment or at least get someone to answer the phone and I'm on hold 3 to 4 hours and sometime I get disconnected or continue to wait, I have a job and it's impossible to continue it's madness. I follow the rules but this is really bad. No one answers. Jesus

Experiencia negativa: I love Dr. Atwater, but have just made the decision to go to another doctor because no one will answer the phone or the portal. I need a prescription and literally cannot get a person to help me. I am currently holding and have called three times today. A live person answered once today after I held 40 minutes and said “I’m putting you on a temporary hold.” They never answered again and eventually I was disconnected. Goodbye Dr. Atwater.
Experiencia negativa: I would give this place a 0 if I could. Been going there for 3 years and I have seen 3 or 4 different doctors. The nurse practitioners are the rudest people there. They treat you like you are just a bother to them. Just last month I called in for my refills and 10 days later I still had not heard from anyone. You can never get a live person to talk to either. So by now my withdrawals had started and it was terrible. I tried several times to get ahold of someone. I finally got to the nurse and all she could tell me was that if I was to go to the er I would never be able to come back to there office again and that was all she could do for me. I finally called HR and explained to her what was going on. She called me back and told me that I needed to make an appointment to come in, I said well why haven’t anyone else called or messaged me to tell me that. I told her that I really needed my meds so she asked the doctor and he called them in. It took my body several days to feel normal again. I deal with anxiety really bad and when I was going through the withdrawals it got even worse. Those people just don’t really seem to care about you at all. I will not be going back.
Experiencia negativa: Dr. Atwater is a great Doctor who knows her stuff but unfortunately I cannot handle seeing her anymore due to how horrible her front desk/ management is. I have been trying to get a bill sorted out since March now that I did not order (Dr. Atwater accidentally ordered the wrong test thru labcorp, mistakes happen) and they all tell me it’s not their problem or they ignore your calls or messages for the last 3 months. I have even been in contact with the office manager several times who has yet to get anything resolved and doesn’t return my calls or messages thru the portal. You sit on hold for at least 40 minutes to even talk to someone every single time. I also canceled an apt VIA phone (spoke to someone) and just received a bill today for $50 for “‘missing the apt” and Now I have to figure that out as well which I’m sure will be just as impossible and as painful as the other bill to get resolved. Worst office I have ever had to deal with in my life. I do not recommend dealing with this office. I would also like to add that if you need Botox good luck because the office staff is no help in getting it ordered thru insurance and the specialty pharmacy you have to go thru. It’s like pulling teeth. At this point I would rather have spasticity daily then to keep literally begging them to help.
Experiencia negativa: I was called last Thursday and was told I had a appointment today. I also got two phone calls advising what I was supposed to do by a pre recorded message. I get there 30 mins prior to my appointment time. This is in part because they never sent me the new patient paperwork. Stood in line to check in. Then was told to come to a window by the girl at that window. She clearly stated that she would help who is next. Walk to the window she gets up and walks away. When she returned after a few mins she again clearly doesn’t want to help me. She decided to start taking phone calls. When she finally decided she wanted to do her job I informed her of my appointment today and that I had not received new patient paperwork. She asked me who my appointment was with. I told her who I thought it was with. She then proceeded to tell me that my appointment was supposed to be today but was rescheduled. I never once got a phone call about it being rescheduled. And I have been trying to call for over a week now and sit on hold for hours on end and no one seems to want to answer the phone to get any answers on anything. I feel I was judged by my race. As I left another lady told me it is like this all the time. They reschedule appointments and never let patients know. This is the worst place ever. I won’t even take my animals here if I had to. They need better trained staff and be more informative.
Experiencia negativa: Sadly this is another case of a wonderful doctor with incompetent, lazy, negligent supporting staff. I do not recommend this office if you want to have basic human decency and are serious about the care of your pain needs. It's sadly a shame because the doctor really is remarkable.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 I would. The Drs are great. The rest of the staff and management should be replaced. I've never had such trouble recieving medical care. Nor have I experienced such rude inhumane behavior out of a medical staff.
Experiencia negativa: I literally was a new patient waited 3 1/2 hours just to get called back, now I've already had experience with a pain management facility 4 years ago and was referred to go back as a cancer patient(under observation)now I understand doing a uds, but as a new patient idk, never would I thought that you would just be discharged without even knowing it due to having CBD in your system from previous care, then again I didnt think that CBD would show up until the day I found out, but no call, no certified letter NOTHING, didnt find out after 3 days calling the office (1 Month later)to see about the upcoming appointment just to find out I have no appointment, so unprofessional, but yet why should it matter what I had prior to seeing you that's why I was REFERRED, for christ sake I was a NEW PATIENT...but the MD I saw that 1 time was nice and professional, but calling their phone is a hour long. nobody picks up the phone. So how are things suppose to get resolved if theirs no communication still not understanding but you know what that office is tooooo much of a hassle anyway buy the time you try to get something done it will be a new year...
Experiencia negativa: The doctors are ok but the management is horrible. Every time you need anything you can never reach anyone by phone and forget about them actually calling you back or doing what you asked. The staff doesn't seem to really care about you and just wants you out of their face. They are overworked and book too many people in too short of appointment times. The management is the worst. I've been going here for 3+ years. Everytime you see the doctor you have to wait 1+ hours. Please get some better management!!
Experiencia negativa: I bring my mom here every three months for pain management. I have never seen such a unorganized and terribly managed place. Every time and I do mean every time we wait for 1 hour + after her appointment time to be seen. If I could rate 0 I would. This very discouraging and hope to find another pain management on the peninsula for my mom.

Experiencia negativa: The Dr.s are not the problems at this facility it is the front desk staff and the nursing staff that primarily are the problem with this office. They don't seem to care about you as a person. I have never seen such incompetency in one place so you have to stay on top of things if you want adequate care

Experiencia negativa: I don’t know if this office is affiliated with the one at 301 Riverview in Norfolk, but if they are, stay clear! I have never met such a poor staff and smug Dr. I have a serious medical condition and the Dr basically shrugged me off with a “good luck”, his nurse actually apologized for him, well after telling me the different forms of marijuana she suggests for the pain she she was pretty clear the Dr would be of no help. Wow! Pretty pathetic, I actually wish there was someone to report this Dr to, but it’s very apparent nobody cares! I give this system a -10
Experiencia negativa: My doctor is great and is very professional; however, the staff is either very lazy or very incompetent or both. It has been a very frustrating experience to say the least. The doctor does not receive messages, wait time on the phone is rediculous.The process of scheduling and seeking authorization for procedures is totally messed. They scheduled me for a procedure with Bon Secours without proper authorization so the hospital cancelled it. Unfortunately I might have to seek a different pain management practice. My doctor actually called me at home to apologize for an error done in his office by a staff member and required me to return for another examination. I can’t believe this is all going on at the medical school. (EVMS)
Experiencia negativa: The doctors are good, so get any requests for front office staff duties authorized by them, because the extended staff that you have to deal with will not get done by this front office. If you are looking for whole patient care, or individualized and personalized treatment, or have a request that isn't on the patient 'assembly line' protocol, don't look here. Been a patient for a couple of years. Very unorganized, too understaffed. The normal wait time just to speak with anyone has been 20 minutes and longer. The normal response time to e-chart letters is one week. Many voicemail inboxes are full, so leaving a message cannot be done. After many attempts talking to management about the problems...they have gone unsolved. I can give many examples of how their inefficiency has cause rippled-effect health consequences to me, but there's only so much space.
Experiencia negativa: The most unorganized, mismanaged office in the history of medicine. 57 minutes on hold to change an appointment and STILL could not get anyone!! I gave up after 7 tries. Then tried to fax them and THAT line was busy!
Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I called them to see if they had gotten my referral from my doctor. I got the rudest girl on the phone she says “we will call you when we get it” and then she hangs up on me! Just hangs up! So I go to my PCP a little upset because I’m wondering why this hasn’t been sent to them. They said they sent it MONTHS ago and will call to check on the status! Well when my doctors office called they were appalled at how rude these people are! They agreed that it was sent back in NOVEMBER but they most have forgotten! Then wanted my doctors office to do all the work again and send a new one out when it wasn’t my doctors office fault! Needless to say I asked for a new office to be seen at and they said “we were going to suggest the same, we’ve never seen such a rude office like them” I waited over 4 months for these people to do absolutely nothing! You can obviously tell they don’t care about their patients and I’m grateful they won’t get a dime from me!
Experiencia negativa: They are extremely unorganized and have way too many patients. Their customer service skills are poor. I would not suggest going here.
