Experiencia fantástica: It's never easy when a loved one has to go into a nursing home or rehab facility. So with that said, I will say that everyone there was so friendly and helpful and attentive to our needs for our loved one. In my opinion, Hebrew house is the best! They are even given the whole facility, a facelift.

Experiencia fantástica: I went there today for an interview it was such a welcoming environment and experience the scheduler is amazing and has an amazing personality and the supervisor was great I recommend this place to work and for family members.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband was a resident of the The Hebrew Center for Health and Rehabilitation for 3 years on 4 South. He recently passed away at the age of 65. Although there were moments that could have been better, I am grateful for the many dedicated nurses and CNAs on 4 South who consistently displayed expertise, warmth, and empathy every day. As I reflect on the past 3 years, I especially want to take a moment to thank the Memory Care Director Karen Moemeka for the compassion and kindness she showed my husband while he was a resident on 4 South at the Hebrew Center. Her ability to truly see him not just as another resident but as a person with dignity and a need for engagement was so meaningful. Instead of letting him sit in the hallway , she would take him to the sensory room where he could experience more comfort and stimulation. That small act spoke volumes about her commitment to providing the best possible care. Her support towards me, as I navigated the challenges of advocating for my husband, was a constant source of comfort. Her professionalism was evident in everything she did, but it was her compassion that stood out the most. The skill with which she engages residents, keeping them connected and involved, shows her deep understanding of the unique needs of those with memory challenges. It's not just a job to her - it's clear that she cares deeply about the well-being of everyone. The attached photo from the 2024 New Year Celebration is an example of the many activities planned throughout the year where challenges were turned into opportunities for connection and understanding that were meaningful. The transformative power of music allowed the residents to momentarily set aside their health challenges and immerse themselves in the joy of the holiday season. As a family, we will treasure this moment and the smile on Ed's face. Thank you Karen!

Experiencia negativa: My sister Nilsa Baez who was Only 65yrs old and healthy other than the early onset Alzheimer’s unfortunately expired in this place 30 days ago. During her 1 1/2 yrs as a patient here she suffered tremendously. She was dropped, abused and neglected. The staff did nothing but make excuses, lie and cover it up. I would repeatedly call the administrative office to speak with someone but all I got was poor excuses or no response at all. Most of the staff on 4south is unprofessional and rude. Keep an eye on the CNA who does most of the care monday-Friday day shift she is unfit!

Experiencia positiva: My mother was here for 2 years in the memory care unit and passed away there last month. The overall facility is clean, organized and maintained well. The 4th floor supervising nurse, stationed nurses, care manager and some nurses aids were good at responding to our concerns about my mothers health care and living needs. Most residents share a room with another resident and bathroom but each will have their own closet to hang clothes and personal items. There is a special shower space for aids to give residents a bath. They have a living room area, dining room and sensory room for the residents. The activity director does her best to keep the residents engaged and active throughout the week. Like any place they could still fine tune and make some health care staff improvements and/or training. No place is perfect but I would recommend this nursing home for anyone who has a loved one that has Alzheimer's or other dementia.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had the experience of placing my beloved mother in a facility in Florida and at this facility Hebrew Center and I have to say this facility was super impressive. They update you constantly and provide many options to ensure that Mom was given additional care as needed which is amazing. The facility was amazingly clean and the cleaners are visible at random times of the day ensuring the place was clean. The staff was extremely caring for the most part and allowed you to voice your concerns and made adjustments to support you. Mom’s last day was peaceful for her and I have to say that everyone there was supportive of the entire situation making my last day with Mom as comfortable and peaceful as possible given the circumstances. Thank you Hebrew Center for helping us and being there for Mom.

Experiencia negativa: My sister just passed away from complications of alzhiemers and was a resident there. She had terrible bed store's that they "tried " to convince us were cists but we knew better . And how did we find out which nurses were bad? Because my God fearing sister who never used a curse word would call the bad one's a horrible curse word and give them a dirty look and the good nurses were greeted with loving beautiful words. They have no business dealing with hospice patients. They were horrible.

Experiencia fantástica: Today when we came to visit my father ~Leslie Lawson on 8/4/24, his aid had him up, dressed and sitting in a chair ready for our visit! We we able to take him outside and when we came back his aid had provided more chairs for us to continue our visit comfortably. We did NOT ask for the chairs. She did this on her own. That was a tremendously thoughtful thing to do- in light of all she has to do!! We were super grateful and impressed by this act of kindness! We had a great visit. We did not get her name. But she deserves recognition!

The staff including clinical is professional, supportive and communicates well with the resident and our family. I am pleased with the care my family member receives.

Experiencia fantástica: My mom is in the fight of her life and I was a little worried about her not being able to come with me to Texas so I could take care of her. Diane made all of my worries and fears disappear! Before I could ask the question she was already doing what I needed! She assured me that she would take care of my mommy because we only get “one”, and I fully believe that she will do just that! I’m so grateful and blessed to have her as one of my mom’s caregivers! Diane is definitely one of the good ones that should be acknowledged, treasured and appreciated!

Experiencia fantástica: My mom is a resident at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford. At this point, my mom cannot tell me much about day-to-day, but she does tell me that she’s very happy there. The staff, from the front desk, RNs, CNAs, et al are lovely and so good to my mom. Her room is bright, cheerful, and clean. She always looks neat, clean, and well cared for. I wish I was able to care for my mom at my home, but since I cannot, I am grateful that she is at the Hebrew Home. We are Jewish and her knowing she’s in a Hebrew home is a sense of comfort for her.

Experiencia fantástica: Visited my sister-in-law and was very impressed with the facility and the kind staff.

Experiencia negativa: I'm less than thrilled with my mothers care here. They brush her off when she needs something. Last time I visited I overheard a staff member referring to my mother as "that fat lady is complaining again." Sunday when my sister went to visit she was required to wear a mask on the floor my mother is on because of a covid case. Monday I went to visit and no mention of needing a mask or anything. Some of my mothers clothes are missing when there is a note that the family would do the laundry and my dad and I were brushed off when we asked where her clothes are. The food they feed her is absolutely terrible and she needs to be on a specific diet with her diabetes and a weak diaphragm with a risk of aspirating. I got a call late last night my mom was sent back to the hospital with a fever and low oxygen levels and a junky cough. I'm super upset with her care here.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first time at this facility. I’ve been too many convalescent homes over the years, but this one exceeded them all. First,?it was very secure and printed out an ID badge for me with my picture. Next, it’s very family friendly. When I entered there, was someone in the lobby popping fresh popcorn for guests. It’s been a habit that once you enter a facility and get past the front desk, as you get closer to the rooms where the residents are; and their sleeping area begins, there’s usually an odor of urine and feces, but there was none of that at this facility. I was actually waiting for it. It never happened. Lastly, this let me know that the patients and residence here are being cared for very well. I had my visit, talk to the aid on duty, and everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

The receptionist was very attentive and willing to help with directions on how to reach our destination. As we walk into the facilities we notice the exceptional cleanliness on every station we passed through and contrary to other rehabilitation centers there was no foul smells. Personal was kind,helpful and friendly. My mother (the patient/ client was very pleased with the staff's attention and dedication specifically the attention and service of Mrs.Sandra.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to visit a good friend at the Hebrew center I saw a very professional clean place and the staff was great I recommend it to anyone that need their services.

Experiencia negativa: Filled out an application for my mother in law. After being run around for two weeks we started to realize they don't like to take a load Medicaid resident. The business manager even admitted to my sister in law that if a private pay patient and a Medicaid patient were going for the same bed that the private pay patient would absolutely get the bed. When I called to tell them we didn't like how we were treated and we were withdrawing the application the response was that's fine, okay and then click. Hung up on me.

Experiencia fantástica: My mom had been there for almost 3 years, she passed away last night and the staff that was there were very sweet and caring offering condolences to our family.

The room was nice for 2 patient room..the person I visited was clean and happy with what was going on for her health. I would stay here if I ever need a rehab place.

They are ALWAYS understaffed with aides and the HR is extremely rude and incompetent! I feel deeply sad for their workers and feel I’m extremely sad for the residents! It’s only a matter of time before they get shut down

Experiencia fantástica: Today, my church family and myself visited an elderly member who has been at the facility for about a year now. The reverend's served the church member communion, read him a few scriptures and briefly conversed. The facility is clean, the front desk staff was nice. I hope to visit soon in the near future. Also, the sign in process for visitors was painless.

The residents appeared well cared for and engaged in meaningful activities and the building and grounds appeared well kept.

Experiencia negativa: Not a desirable place for hospice care. Administration- Nursing staff improved care level after bringing a complaint. Wound care resource - Richard responsive Food - director called to address issues Kosher rules for 10% of residents result in tepid food temps for all on weekends.

Experiencia fantástica: Upon arrival the CNA staff made sure I got comfortable in my room. She arrange things around, adjusted my bed to my satisfaction. The next morning all the intake paperwork was done in a timely manner. Nursing staff is very accurate with dispensing of medication, it is very comfortable to see nursing staff check, and recheck to make sure that the right person is getting the right medication. The Administration Director (name A K) is very considerate, and very kind, making sure you get everything that you need, when you need it. For example. ... My room became uncomfortable with the room mate that I had, she, the Administrator, adjusted the situation to where not only I was satisfied, but the roommate was satisfied as well, I was admitted due to an amputation, the physical therapy team is very professional in administering the training that I need in order to become independent and continue on with my life, on a positive note. Experiencia negativa: Please don’t bring your loved ones here. I have witnessed some of the most callous and insensitive behavior towards patients I have ever seen by the staff at this facility.

Experiencia negativa: Worse experience ever. Antoinette was not very friendly or forth coming. My mom was moved to a center other than one I was told. Four calls n me crying and stressed out to find her.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent improvements since the Covid episode. Registering is much easier with scanners as opposed to a book. An updated visitors pass as opposed to sticky notes that falls off gives a better feeling of security. And the service desk has not changed. They are still warm and cordial with an inviting personality to make you feel comfortable to see your love one. Thanks, Hebrew Home.

Experiencia fantástica: When I spoke with Karen Moemeka Director of Memory Care at Hebrew Center for Health & Rehabilitation on the phone several weeks ago, I was delighted that the same feeling I got was evident when we met. She was caring and showed respect for me as a family member and respect for my relative. The staff on 4 South professional and friendly. I even joined in singing YMCA with the residents watching TV. I was having as much fun as they were! It's a nice feeling to leave what could be a sad environment with a smile on your face. Thank you all. You helped make my day much better.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They address the needs of the patients as soon as an issue arises. Our only request is that they check-in more often with the patients that have dementia/Alzheimer’s as these patients sometimes don’t know they have an issue/problem or they may be lacking or dehydrated etc… Many patients with dementia/Alzheimer’s are quick to say they’re OK when really they’re not and often forget to press the button for a nurse/aide when they need assistance.

Experiencia negativa: This is where you leave your family to die of bed sores; patients here have bed sores the size of planets and are literally left to rot to death and suffer in pain, one of the saddest and INHUMANE excuses for a hospital. The level of laziness and lack of consideration/care for these patients is UNBELIEVABLE. these things are easily preventable but the staff couldn't care less.

The place as a whole is extremely clean and for me is very important because it says what type of institution is it. I'm very happy that I chose the right institution for my mother. Thank you for everything you do for our relatives. Keep the good work.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely horrible! It took over a week to speak to a doctor (which resulted in them treating my father for the wrong condition for week). They overdosed him with medication (he had to be rushed to the emergency room and treated with Narcan to revive him). They never sent his medical records to his outpatient Dr (and now want to charge us to do so). What an absolutely disgusting, dirty place. I'm pretty certain every positive review on here is fake.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful staff and atmosphere. My mom goes here for adult daycare and recently had a short respite care. She keeps on asking when she's going back. She was treated really well and enjoyed her stay.
