My therapist were outstanding and helped me a great deal. Kiley was very informative about my condition, Jay pushed me just the right amount to keep me on track. I can’t imagine a better place to go for rehab.

Experiencia fantástica: There are no words I can find to say how many people impacted me with kindness. Mallory and Emma were my therapist, they really helped me so much to get stronger and feel more independent. The nurses that impacted me the most were Sarah and Peggy. Their warmth towards me gave me comfort while I sometimes struggled. Jessica, my case manager, worked really hard with my insurance company to get more time. All in all with everyone so instrumental in my care I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Experiencia positiva: Recently my father Kyle Kirby was a patient recovering from a right hip fracture. We were amazed how well this hospital was built for the patients. Besides being a very clean facility, it's hallways were very wide, the rooms and restroom in each room was built with the best interest of the patients to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. We must give praise to the nursing staff, they were wonderful, made us feel at home, never too rushed to just talk and learn more about the family. Emma and Mallory worked with Dad and we could see his improvement daily. These two were great, patient and very kind. We will always recommend your facility to our friends and neighbors. Again, thank you for your help with Dads recovery.

Experiencia positiva: The experience was very good and helpful. The physical therapist and Occupational Therapist were wonderful. The Tech Anthony brought brightness into the room every time he came in the room. Nurses Whitney, Rebecca and Sally were excellent at very attentive.

I worked with Seth for PT and he really helped me. I had several different OT therapists and they were all good. Pretty much everything about my stay was a really good and useful experience toward my recovery.

Experiencia fantástica: I was at Encompass for nine days after a ten day stay in the hospital. This place is the best place in the world. The nurses, doctors, therapists, cleaning ladies, everybody was phenomenal!! On a scale from 1 to 10, this place is a 20!!!!! However, the food was horrible! If I ordered something specific I never got it. Need better food for sure!

Experiencia fantástica: My mother was recently a patient for 10 days at Encompass after a serious fall. I can’t say enough good things about the care she received there. From the nurses, techs, physical therapists, and other staff, she was treated with compassion and kindness. The therapists did a great job of getting her back on her feet. She’s been home a little over a week now and she tells everyone how wonderful her experience was at Encompass.

Experiencia fantástica: If you have to go to rehabilitation., The only place to go in my opinion is incompass rehabilitation. The staff for the cleaning personnel to the physicians on staff are all exceptional clinicians. I noticed even that cleaning personnel took extra time to sanitary surfaces in my room to include cleaning my TV screen, which I thought was a nice touch’!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband was here for 4 days following a 7 day hospital stay for seizures from a brain bleed. The hospital is clean and bright. Staff are friendly and dedicated. The rehab is pretty intense, which was expected, and helpful. He was able to come home needing only some outpatient PT to improve his gait. From intake to discharge, this was a positive experience.

Lea and Mikki were the perfect pair for PT/OT, they encouraged me and worked with me to help ease my anxiety and build my strength and confidence. My nurses and techs : Valerie, Lydia, Gladys, Kathleen, Tiana, Candicha, Deshay, Serina, Victor, Tom, Lorrie, Kiara and anyone else, who’s name may have slipped my mind were nothing short of SPECTACULAR. They took me seriously, encouraged me, reassured me, answered any question I had and provided the utmost level of care. Although the circumstances that bring you aren’t great, they make you feel like a million bucks. I also have to say this is the CLEANEST facility I have ever seen. Hilary never stopped trying to make sure I had whatever resource I needed and instilled confidence in my discharge. I also work in healthcare and will recommend Encompass any chance I get. Thank you all so much for everything!!

Experiencia fantástica: I lost use of my left arm & was weakening on left side. Spinal Stenosis & operation C2-C6. Encompass got me on my feet again. Nurses are great, specially Amin, Tiana, Jackie, Sandie & other names that escapes me. The OT & PT staff were exceptional specially Marla, Lea, Yvonne, Linda, Nikki, Amy & the wonderful young lady from the drumming group with gold & red intertwined in her hair that gave me a set of drum sticks before I left. The place was magical for me to be transformed from how I was coming into Encompass to when I left 10 days later. Thank you Hillary for the correlating between the VA, Hospital & making my stay at Encompass happen. Peace & Love

Experiencia fantástica: I chose to go to keep my wife from having to take care of me after working all day. Now I’m glad I went and wish I could’ve stayed a little longer. Mellisa S really paid attention to the way I walked. All of the therapists were very helpful and encouraging. They made you work and it really helped. I have been out for 4 days now, and wish I could go back for a couple more weeks. I know what they accomplished in my short stay and would love to see what could be accomplished with a longer stay. I would recommend this place after any major surgery. I feel that I am better because of their help. It just happens that Mellisa S was my Angel. I had many others while there. I just have trouble remembering things. I was fitted for AFO braces one day and had them the next day. They really are helpful in keeping my feet from dragging and causing me to lose my balance and fall. Finally I guess what I’m trying to say if you have any doubt about going to rehab. I would definitely give Encompass Rehabilitation a try. You will leave in the best shape you can be.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband spent Mother’s Day in hospital as a result of a stroke and was transferred to Encompass for his care and recovery. I’m pretty sure that he received some of the finest quality care available in Huntsville, Alabama. Never having experienced a loved one having to go to a Rehabilitation Hospital before, I can honestly say that not only was Richard treated with great care, but I was made to feel welcome to stay with him overnight, which was a very comforting factor. There were so many nurses, techs, physical & occupational therapists that took the extra time ( as busy as they must be with other patients and families to attend to ) The stand out people, are Nurse Val ( my personal favorite because of her very friendly manner and professionalism.) Katrena for her very straight-forward approach, which was crucial in Richard’s communication recovery-wise, Sarah who simply was very helpful and so likeable, The great Therapists Yvonne & Seth & especially Nicole…are AMAZING and have certainly chosen their careers perfectly! My poor husband fell at home one week after returning and chose to come back to Encompass and see his new friends!! That’s how he spent Father’s Day! We came home today and although it was a 40 mile round trip drive for me..I had so many good small conversations with staff including wonderful receptionists Madison is a sweetheart!!!All in all I would recommend this Hosptial for the great staff and the accommodations p.s. Dr. Patel YOU ARE THE BEST DOCTOR I’ve met in long time!! You went above and beyond in your kindness to my husband and me and God Bless you for having such a kind heart.

I saw the kindness and the patience and the care that they showed my husband after he had his stroke. I want to thank each and everyone of you. I want to personally thank Tammy B for helping us get into Encompass, I also want to think Susan D for also helping us with so many things. I want to think April my husband‘s nurse/tech for going above and beyond helping my husband and also the kindness she showed me. She helped me cope and that meant so very much to me. I also want to thank Noah D, Cindy P, and Kylie M.his rehab therapy team. They helped him be as normal as he could be. When my husband saw the gym he told his Physical Therapist That’s my ticket home and it was. Rehab put him through his paces. My husband put in the work. And thanks to everyone and anyone who came into room 227. my husband is doing very well today. So if you are determined to put in the work to get back to as normal as you can be. I had a wonderful experience and the absolute best therapists in the world, Lea and Mikki. Everyone here was amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: My name is Scarlett. I’m a 54 y/o female who fell and completely broke my femur in half up next to my hip joint. After surgery, I was transferred to Encompass. Today starts my 8th day. I have had an amazing experience since I got here. The staff has been so kind, compassionate and caring. I am amazed at the atmosphere here. They work as a team and they really care about your improvement and well-being. I can’t say enough good things about everybody here here at Encompass, from the sweet lady that cleans my sinks and sweeps my floors to Dr. Patel who is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever had in my life. I hope you never have to be an in-patient here but if you do just know that you will get the best care in the world. I just want to say thank you to all the Encompass employees. Experiencia negativa: At first I thought this was the best place for my father. My father’s caseworker was the worst. She really dropped the ball. We had a meeting with her that had to be canceled due to a doctor’s appointment for him. We needed to reschedule and she wouldn’t reschedule. We would try calling her and texting her about rescheduling. She never returned our calls or text. We really needed to meet with her about going forward and see his progress there. My father was discharged from there without ever knowing what went on. He was sent to a skilled nursing facility after that.

Experiencia fantástica: There were several nurses and techs that I grew close. The rehab ladies and gents were always so encouraging and helped me reach my goals. My room, the rehab gym, and the facility was always clean. They are the reason I am walking today.

Experiencia fantástica: Everyone and everything was outstanding. I had many good nurses but 2 standout heads above the others, Amanda on 7pm-7am and Jackie on 7am-7pm were exceptional. They both went above and beyond to help me get well and helped with my emotional breakdown when I found out I had lost a very dear friend while I was there. They held my hand and prayed with me and had so many words of encouragement, wisdom and support. II had an exceptionally good Physical Therapist named Seth and Occupational Therapist named Grace and Mallory. They helped me so much that when I was ready to be discharged and went into outpatient physical therapy I was able to do so much that it was amazing.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was approved for longer but they cut her stay short. The case manager was very helpful but the staff there is rude. All from day 1 when I walked in. Today I came to pick up my mom. At the time I told them was the only time for today due to having to work. I walk in with my 17 year old to help me with all her stuff, who has visited multiple times, and before we make it to work he check in sheet she won’t let us check in saying her gas to by 19. Idk if it was that or if it’s because he was biracial. She didn’t even ask if he was over 19 (he’s not) but just took one look at him and wouldn’t let us pass. My other kids all under 19 have visited on multiple occasions, why was one a problem this time?

Experiencia positiva: Almost everyone here has been great while I recover from my unexpected stroke, my therapists, nurses, everybody! Dhrumil made sure to push me hard and past my limits on getting back on my feet and regain some balance. The vector machine in the therapy gym was especially helpful in quickly getting me to achieve walking on my own again. Megan was really great as well, I felt comfortable talking to her while we did occupational therapy and have made really good strides over the few days I've been here! Jull, the occupational therapist I had on my last day, was extremely helpful too and had a fun time talking with her. Stephanie was my speech therapist, and I had fun playing some cognitive games (even though there were a couple of games I tended to get frustrated with every once in a while) and getting some confidence back in my ability to hopefully drive again soon. The driving simulation test was initially disappointing since it was not a fancy machine that involved virtual driving, but after taking the test twice, I am confident that I will be back on the road in no time. She was great and offered some useful resources to use for after I leave the facility. The only complaints I have is dealing with one rude person on one interaction and the fact the hospital food didn't seem to be correct or any good a majority of the time I was here. There was this one doctor, Dr. Mitul Patel, who deliberately came in my room in between my therapy sessions just to make me feel bad about me trusting someone else to help give me levenox injections while I'm at home. He very bluntly put that I was solely responsible for doing this myself and that I should not be asking others to help do it for me. I do not feel comfortable doing my own injections, as I have a fear of needles (specifically those ones since they go into the stomach and cause significant pain if not done correctly). He then proceeded to mansplain to me how important those injections are (I very much know how crucial it is, because it thins my blood and prevents my stroke from happening again) and that I need to think of it like I need food. He also told me that it's not painful at all, which is wrong because I've had several of those injections so far and they definitely hurt, especially if the person giving it does it incorrectly. I guarantee he hasn't had to have any injection like that before considering his age. I felt that it was extremely disrespectful and uncalled for, especially coming from a medical professional who just wanted to offer his personal opinion. I understand he was just trying to offer advice, but it was advice I did not want or need. If I had to do these long-term or life long I would eventually consider it but I will not be using these Injections for very long and I have a willing person who I trust to help me with it, so the advice was not appropriate or appreciated. Aside from that interaction though, everything else and everyone were great and super nice. I give the place an A plus.

My grandma is now in the hospital with sepsis in her blood stream from untreated UTI & These people treated just as a job and have no actual empathy or compassion for the people here I do not recommend. My grandmother stayed here and her treatment was awful. They do not care. do not trust these people to take care of your loved ones look elsewhere

It is a pet friendly facility (outside) and I really think being able to see his dog everyday expedited his healing 10 fold. So welcoming and caring. Thank you so much.

Experiencia fantástica: I was recently an inpatient at Encompass following a stroke. I immediatley felt welcome and comfortable in the beautiful setting. The therapists were friendly, engaging and very encouraging. My doctors and case manager were extremely helpful and made the experience very positive. From the meals to the cleanliness of the facilty my family and I were very impressed. We would highly recommend Encompass.

Experiencia positiva: Encompass is an amazing place to rehab an injury. You get 1 1/2 hours a day of physical therapy and 1 1/2 hours of occupational therapy. The therapists are amazing. The facility is clean and run well. The only issue I had with Encompass is the food was not diabetic friendly. Also even though your meal choices are taken the day before I sometimes didn't get what I ordered. Shout-out to Betty, Mallory, Stella, Melissa, Lee Ann, Susan, Liz, Cory, Lacey, and Tina. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing an inhouse rehabilitation facility.

Mrs. Saint took care of my wound from surgery in an amazing way. Great case manager and lots of kindness shown to me and my family by Marcie Bullard. I would definitely recommend this hospital to friends.

Experiencia fantástica: Nursing, techs, OT, PT are top notch and show genuine care and concern for patients. Rooms kept clean by wonderful crew, beds made and remade frequently . Meals are always enjoyable.. Patient decides meals for next day. Facility is brand new . Patients can get outside during PT or OT by asking. Dogs may visit in outdoor courtyard near dining hall between 4 & 8 daily. Guests may purchase meals at lunchtime and eat with patient. Independence Day is declared the day before patient departure. Patient spends day demonstrating their improved skill set . Highly recommend this rehabilitation facility

Experiencia negativa: We rushed around after work and drove many miles to visit a sick loved one only to be told upon arrival that, "someone else has already visited her today and her daily limit of two visitors has been reached". We then learned that this meant we were just out of luck and had to turn around and drive back home. What a ridiculous policy! Worse yet, even our family member, who had been a patient there for a week, had no idea this was the case. Here's a tip, Encompass, YOU NEED TO TELL SOMEBODY!

Experiencia negativa: Horrible!!!! Do not care about patients only money. Do not test staff or incoming patients for covid or require vaccination or negative test for the one designated visitor yet only allow one designated person to visit your family member all the weeks they are in . If that person gets sick or dies they will not allow the patient to designate a new person the rest of their time. Leaving elderly people isolated for weeks. If they have dementia they can’t understand why they have been abandoned. Heart breaking cruel policy with no impact in health, quite the opposite hurtful to the patients. Cruel and inhumane.

They are always kind, thoughtful and considerate to their patients and family of their patients. Experiencia negativa: I would NOT recommend this facility. We were only allowed to visit one time (I understand the reason). The staff was very nice. While we where there, they never came in to turn him or get him up. The reports we were given on a daily basis, was very encouraging. We were informed by the case management team, that the family member was doing very well. We were also given a report that the family member would only need a little help walking, feeding themselves, and sitting up. The family member would need more assistance in other areas of activity. Once we got the family member home, we was total bed ridden. It took two people to get him up or to move him. When the home health nurse came to the house, she confirmed that she had also been told the same thing that we had been told. The family member also had a wound to his heel and signs of break down on his back (the family member was only at Encompass for 10 days). After completing Encompass' survey, I received a telephone call from someone saying she was from Encompass and wanted to talk to me about the survey. After talking to me, she stated that she would investigate the issues and call me back in a couple of days. It has now been over 2 weeks, and I have not hear back from her. If I know then what I know now about Encompass, I would never had allowed my family member to go there.

Experiencia fantástica: I had 2 strokes I a row (smaller ones), this fall. Huntsville Hospital referred me to Encompass for rehab. I was scared! Being in a new place was very scary for me. I was pleasantly surprised, actually the nursing care I received was excellent! The doctor and nurse practitioner were very, very caring. I recommend this rehab and give it a 5+ stars! The aids, cleaning staff, maintenance dept, nurses, techs, physical therapists, and occupational therapists are AWESOME! Thank you Shannon, ( my occupational therapists! I was very off balance and unable to do much at all, before Encompass! Thank you and God bless you all!

Experiencia fantástica: It’s a great facility with very friendly, helpful staff. They did a great job helping our loved one get stronger to prepare for double knee replacement surgery. The therapists worked with her a lot to help her reduce her pain and chances of falling. Once she gets the surgery done, I hope they send her back there to recover. I would definitely recommend Encompass.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. I am not sure how they are legally operating. Intake was poor, they last most of the paperwork and were not following doctor orders. Our loved one fell with no call or details. When we arrived we found him slumped over in a wheelchair as they we’re moving rooms. We had to remove his from this faculty. I would not send anyone here. Period

Experiencia fantástica: My husband is currently at healthsouth now and he has done just awesome since he has been there. This is a great rehab facility.

Experiencia negativa: My son was in HealthSouth. It's an aggressive program and very well suited for young people who heal fast. I don't think it would be that great for the very elderly who have physical injuries except in the right circumstances. My son had a brain injury, bruised spleen, and broken ribs. The physical therapists didn't believe that he had broken ribs. I was told that the pain he was feeling was in his mind due to his brain injury. This was not true. The doctor who first examined him at Huntsville Hospital verified that he had broken ribs on both sides. HealthSouth was either ignorant or chose to ignore this fact until I chewed some ass and got him some pain medication. They even brought in a portable x-ray machine and still said he had no broken ribs. The physical therapists tried to move him around and were too aggressive for someone in that kind of pain. I don't know if they lie as a part of their aggressive approach, or if it was a mistake. It's hard to believe it was a mistake when it was in his medical record that his ribs were broken. Most of the staff is nice and helpful. A couple of them were rude but you get that anywhere.

Experiencia negativa: Loved one sat in diaper for 3 days. No bath or change of clothes. Nurses are understaffed and only a few care about the patients. Stand outside the nurses desk and you can hear them making fun of patients and their family. I wouldn't send my worse enemy to Healthsouth of Huntsville, Al.

Experiencia fantástica: About this time last year I had a spinal injury I'm not like I was but I have to give a thanks to my ooccupational and physical therapist that worked with me if wasn't for you and my determination I can't imagine what shape I'd be today thank you !
