Experiencia fantástica: I have a lot of trust in my cardiologist Dr. Park. He is caring and lets you know exactly what will happen. He takes time to answer questions and makes you feel like he really cares. The checkin was seamless. The nurses and techs took very good care of me. They were all really nice and were there when I needed help. I will be having another procedure in a few months. It’s comforting to know I will be in good hands.

Experiencia negativa: Absolution aweful.the care was disgraceful.beware of this hospital, they will let you lie there and die. Their stroke car is worthless,I had beg for physical therapy. They refused to treat the underlying cause because it was somebody else's problem.it took 2.5 days to get an MRI done and 6 hours to finally get discharged. They did not ask me what kind of care I wanted after discharge.i was told I had home health and they refused to look into a skilled facility. Centerpoint was looking after their own interest and not mine

Experiencia fantástica: Thank you to everyone at the Birth Center on Floor 3 Labor and Delivery. It was terrifying going in. We were in tears and just thinking the worst, but then everything was taken care of by real professionals. I couldn't picture a better experience. Everyone there had an answer to every question. Everyone knew exactly what to do for our baby, born a month early. Thank you. I can't thank you enough for how much you help us get through everything.

Experiencia fantástica: I had great care while I stayed over night after my hip surgery. The only thing that was very dysfunctional was my discharge. They rushed me out of my room and took me to a room downstairs where I waited forever while they printed out all the discharge documents . I don't know why the discharge papers were not prepared in advance.

Centerpoint Medical Center

Thank you for the review and feedback. We will look into our discharge process to review best practices.

Experiencia negativa: I went to this hospital because it was close to my house the nurse the took my information was very rude to me asking me questions about why I was there and she said the they were going to test me for COVID-19 and the flu but I told them that I was tested for the already and it was negative and after that she replied saying is a sinus infection but I don't know why they said that when she never heard me breathing of check me out them after that she said the there were going to send with more medication I don't why they were going to give me more without them know in what I was having I just thought I was going there for compassion I didn't feel that the nurse was rude when asking questions and me with fever and headache.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I would. This hospital has no regard for their patients or employees. They are all about corporate greed and making the CEO rich. They hire the least qualified people for all positions so they can pay them less. They pay the least of any hospital in the KC area. Don't trust them to care for your loved one. My mother was there and treated horribly.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had major surgery and a one night stay here. From registration to discharge every employee made my visit very pleasant. I found everyone to be real, knowledgeable, and caring professional employees who enjoy their jobs. The 4th floor nurses were wonderful. And Dr Krempec the orthopedic surgeon is the best! I would highly recommend Centerpoint Medical Center. We have been to other local hospitals, and we can honestly say Centerpoint is the best in the area! Thank you so much!

Experiencia negativa: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Do not take anyone here if they are having an emergency. I checked my significant other in around 4:30pm 8/20/24 with two other people in the emergency lobby (what I thought was good) for pain in appendix. We were instructed after we got a CT SCAN (different office) to go to the ER immediately. Again checked in at 4:30pm was called back at 5:06pm(not bad) to register and got test samples I also gave them the CTscan that we just got done before coming. At 5:57pm he was placed in a chair and was given antibiotics and the nurse proceeds to ask what’s going on because they weren’t aware what’s going on with his situation (ALARMING) but I informed the nurse what’s happening. At 7:00pm he was called back to take AMOTHER CT Scan EVEN THO they alr had images that were taken earlier that day. I heard a nurse say they wanted to take another scan since they have images from another hospital and they refuse to use those images (crazy)! After the CT Scan was completed a different nurse came to confirm his appendix were inflamed and they will get him a room & ready for surgery for the morning. There was no update or check in after the nurse gave that information, they never re plugged in his vitals… I waited patiently but hours went by without someone coming to check… a total of 5HOURS went by without anyone checking on us. I had to flag a nurse (4th nurse since arriving) down to plug him in. Around 2:00AM I had to flag another nurse (5th nurse) to get an update in which they couldn’t provide any informative information and told me “I know it sucks”. Everytime I asked about the surgery they immediately shut it down saying a surgeon will talk to you. The fifth nurse was CLEARLY ANNOYED by me constantly asking for updates since I been here for more than 12 hours now; he told me he “know it sucks but the hospital has no room for a bed at the moment”. After I explained how long we’ve been here and how urgent his needs were medically stated this nurse (5th nurse) responded, “you guys aren’t scheduled for a surgery, you have to wait until the surgeon comes to TALK to you. If you chose to leave you would have to sign against medical advice” It’s NOW 5:00AM and we still have NO ROOM, haven’t spoken with NO DOCTORS or SURGEONS, NOBODY has come to check on us UNLESS I flag them down, and NOW was lied to about having surgery scheduled! And to ice all up the patient sitting next to us in their sheeted section doesn’t have the luxury of having someone with him so he try’s to call out for nurses help BUT THEY CANT HEAR him because they’re around the corner on their phones chilling! I’ve been going to hunt down nurses for my significant other and also the neighboring patient as well. Only Jena (one out of the five nurses) actually introduced themselves before they even began speaking. PURELY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Experiencia negativa: My husband cut his hand really as. Took him here and he’s open bleeding badly. We have been sitting here for an hour and have yet to even be seen by triage but if you have a tummy ache they’ll see you soon. We are literally sitting here and there is blood on the ground from him. Why are you even in business. The guy checking people in was more concerned with watching tv

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT TAKE ANYONE HERE. My uncle passed away almost 2 years ago. (Last January.) He was under their care and developed bedsores because of their lack of care. Then because of the neglect by all the employees he kept having them and it even made his room smell. They never did anything about this and he soon died. They don’t care about anyone, and I hope they get sued !

Experiencia negativa: If you love yourself or your relatives, don’t bring them here. My grandfather could’ve died in this godforsaken hospital and no one would’ve done anything about it. The doctors and the nurses are both negligent —I’m so glad his insurance won’t cover this facility anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: I want to give a shout out to Center Point Hospital and the forth floor nurses and the amazing surgeon Dr. John Lewandowshi who performed my surgery. Thanks for all you all do to help others.

Experiencia negativa: My wife fell on June 9th and we took her to the emergency room. The dr came in and said she had a sprained knee after only doing X-rays. They sent her home with an ace bandage that was poorly wrapped, crutches and referred her to an orthopedic dr. We had to wait until July 5 to to actually see a Dr. they finally decided that something was wrong and then sent her for an MRI on July 22. We are still waiting for results from the dr and radiology. We had to call radiology to make them send the imaging to the dr! She has a complete tear in her ACL and a fractured tibia. We have waited almost 2 months to get some kind of answers and we have had to cancel numerous camping trips and possibly our trip to Florida in September! They should owe US money and offer an apology!! If our names were Kelce or Mahomes or Swift, I guarantee that she would have been seen, an MRI done at the time of injury she would be on the road to recovery! Instead we sit and wait for someone to take us seriously and make a decision! We all get one summer a year and we haven’t been able to do anything because we don’t have the names mentioned above! What is wrong with taking care of each patient to the fullest of the capabilities? We aren’t someone on meth and we aren’t some nutcase the police found in town! We have money and want the service we deserve! Come on Centerpoint! Take care of people no matter what their background!!

Experiencia negativa: We could never get a definitive answer on when the Drs will be in. We never got a care plan or an explanation on what they were doing to resolve the issues that my Dad was going through. Terrible mannerisms by the nurse doing vitals. I was in his room for 4 hours. The nurse only came in because I accidentally pushed the call button once and then came in to do 2 more tests and bring Tylenol. 5 hours. More tests, no results. No doctor. 24 hours after admitting and a Dr never contacted us even being there the entire day. The nurse continually apologized because she didn't have anything to tell us. We even wrote on the window for the doctor to call and left our names and phone numbers per the nurses instruction. She said the Doctor always looks at the window but not the white board on a regular basis.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Went to the ER for pain caused by a cyst (like I was told to do) just to be told not to come back and that the pain I was in wasn't a medical emergency. I was told if it ruptures to not bother coming back because that's not a medical emergency. The nurse practitioner practually had a tantrum and stormed out of the room because I was acking questions and wondering why I was being told it's a medical emergency and she's the only one telling me it's not. I told them I wanted help and not any pain medication and she wrote me off for pain meds and said don't come back. Said an ovarian cyst would 100% not cause infertility when I've been told otherwise.

Experiencia negativa: I work as a assistant operation manager at Genesis Health Club I was bleeding during menopause the lady at the emergency room literally waved at me when I walked in as if she knew me. When I gave her the information of what I was going through and asked her for a women's OBGYN or clinic she told me she was not from this area and could not help me. I was literally in and out of their emergency room in less than 5 minuted. She never even got my information or my name. I went to Lakewood hospital at 2 a.m. this morning were they helped me. Took blood work and kept me informed on my condition and new appointments set

John Deckenbach 1 year ago

Experiencia negativa: I have never heard such lies and hate spew from the mouth of anyone in a hospital setting in my enumerated years. The idiot who checks people in for the ER told me that they will not do xrays to detect sinusitis, which is a totally common way to detect sinusitis. I would not trust these people to do my dishes. "A sinus X-ray helps doctors detect problems with the sinuses. Sinuses are normally filled with air, so the passages will appear black on an X-ray of healthy sinuses. A gray or white area on an X-ray of the sinuses indicates a problem. This is most often due to inflammation or a buildup of fluid in the sinuses." I may get around to suing them for malpractice and rejection of care because they are stupid. See you around, maybe in court.

Experiencia negativa: The way the emergency staff treats people with mental illness is really awful. There was a man in the ER when I was looking for help because he was having some issues and the nurse working with him was VERY rude. Almost poking fun at the fact that he was having a mental health emergency. At one point the patient said “I’m just freaking out right now” and the nurse looked at him and said “well that sounds like a you problem” and walked away and refused to help him. The registration staff then forced the man to sit down even though he said multiple times he was not comfortable sitting down. Mental health is not easy and it should not be treated like it’s the patients fault they are suffering. We need to do better ESPECIALLY AS A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.

Experiencia negativa: I came in the ER for excruciating pain from kidney stones and a UTI. I told the RN that I was still in a lot of pain and she gave me something that didn't do anything to help me. After being there for 3 hours or so she brought me my discharge paperwork that had absolutely 0 info on my kidney stone. It just contained info on my UTI and that's it. I told her what am I suppose to do about this pain? "Well...we sent prescriptions hope you feel better." Turned around ignored my concern about pain and left. Didn't even tell me how to get out of the ER. The Nurse Practioner was no better. I told her how much pain I was still in and she said, "I JUST told you we sent prescriptions." Real condescending tone. They don't give a rat's butt about patients there. I didn't even see or talk to the Dr once. Unfortunately just dealt with the nurses that gave 0 care about my pain level. They gaslight their patients and ignore what the say. If anyone has ever had a kidney stone it's about the worst pain you can have and I've had a lot of experience. I'm sure if THEY were in that much pain then it would be a different story. Terrible experience. I Will go out of my way to drive to another city's hospital before I ever go back here.

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT, I repeat do NOT come to this hospital! The service here? None. The staff here? Absolutely terrible... So, it started when my grandpa came here yesterday because he has gallbladder stones that need to be removed through surgery. The nurses have done absolutely nothing since we came here, they haven't given my grandpa water, food, absolutely nothing. No service, no care, nothing! Even after constantly asking, they didn't give him anything. So, later my g had to use the restroom and after asking 3 times they did nothing! My grandpa had to go in his bed because no one would come. What's worse? I had to clean it up because NO ONE would come over and clean it like they were supposed to! The next day was absolutely NO different! My grandpa was showing clear signs of dehydration, and we were constantly begging to get him water but you know what they did? Nothing. They didn't bring him water, I never saw them come over to do anything, and all the nurses and doctors I saw were on their phones!!! I am NEVER coming to this place again!

Experiencia negativa: The nurse practitioner in the Emergency department seemed "too cool to be bothered." She literally sat on her swivel chair in front of her computer and made faces that made us feel uncomfortable like we shouldn't be there. We were advised by my kid's doctor to take him to the ER because he's sick and was throwing up 5 days; couldn't eat nor drink. 1-2 wet diaper for the entire day. Not sleeping, and very slow. We were all concerned that he was dehydrated. I guess if one's not bleeding or dying they shouldnt go to the ER. The RN that was working with her was sweet and did everything. But that nurse practitioner should do something else for a living because she was not helpful at all.

Larry Hegendeffer 1 year ago

Experiencia negativa: I would have given them a negative star if I could. I have a family member there. Was taken to the ER where he spent most of his time in the hallway. They never gave us any answer as to what might have happened. They said they were waiting for test results. That evening he got moved to a room. The next day we called the nurses station to get an update. The nurse was very rude and her response was she didn't know anything. Later that day upon getting to the hospital I stopped at the nurses to hear if there was any update. I was rudely responded to with I don't know. Still waiting for results. When I asked what tests had been done. The response was I don't know. If you are a nurse taking care of a patient how can you be rude to concerned family members, and not know anything about your patient who has been there at the hospital since the day before, and not know anything or tell family members who they can talk to that can answer questions?

Experiencia negativa: I’ve worked for many hospitals, for several decades, so I feel I know the difference between good care and bad. My wife was there for two weeks. 5th floor. I have seen so much Lack of attention and care and critical nurse thinking and CNA’s inexperience and lack of sympathy in this place. No bath was offered or to have bed linens changed for 2 weeks. I initiated an incentive spirometry after her procedure. I asked for the Doppler to mark her pulse on her feet. Blood clot issues. The nurses never did a nurse assessment or looked at her swollen feet. Or listen to her lungs. The nurses don’t do hourly checks, she was pretty much abandoned in that room. The CNA’s don’t make hourly rounds and come across inconvenienced. I asked for linens so they can change the bed and it’s sat on the counter for two days. Once they’re there for the moment and then they’re Gone. Period. A bad experience. I’m scared for the next admission to that horrible place, unfortunately her insurance only goes to HCA. I’ve heard from nurses they stopped hiring CNA‘s just to build that top floor and they are starting to hire LPNs in ICU. There is definitely a lack of experience and safety for patients at this hospital per one of their doctors. Warning your loved ones safety is at risk.

Experiencia negativa: Took my son to Centerpoint ER 22 hours ago , what a joke. They had patients lined down the halls , nurses were loud , braiding each other’s hair, you might see them just a couple of times thru the ordeal. To busy trying to charge us for unnecessary test, was suppose to be admitted but always told no beds available, so my son spend 22 hours on a hard ER bed . Finally said enough . Nasty ER. We never knew who our nurse was , and trust me they can be unkind if you disturb them. They do not deserve 4 stars at anytime. Go to another hospital not worth it and they will not work with you on billing!!!!!! Should be ashamed of themselves but they are better than the patient. Don’t start me on the So called Doctors. Don’t want to hear any excuses from Centerpoint

Experiencia negativa: Jacked up my knee while I was mowing. Went to the ER, they stuck me in a chair in the hallway for 2 hours, not a single person came by to help me, go to the bathroom, offer me a blanket or some water. In fact I asked for water when the orderly stopped to make my ice pack. He said he would get it later, there were cups ice and water right there. I didn't see a Dr, never once bothered to look at my knee, sent me for X-rays when it came back that it wasn't broke, sent me home, still in excruciating pain and not so much as an aspirin for pain the whole time. The most worthless waste of money, Ever

Experiencia negativa: My girls brother was admitted here. He was mistreated and security stole his belongings then proceeded to kick him out with nothing and took no responsibility for their actions. We called and were mocked and disrespected by staff. They stole his money then threw him out on the street and said oh well then laughed about it. A protest is being planned

Experiencia positiva: I have mixed feelings on my experience after my cancer surgeon/team and I had already been through the ringers of what seemed to be the neverending surgeries, test, imaging, blood work etc...everything showed early - small- easy. 1 surgery take the sm tumor and good to go.. Not so easy..mixes of invasive as well as non, not clear margins, +1mm.. back in OR 1 1/2 wk later.. now my margins are even bigger from clear, min of and +3 mm, it's taken on both shapes, round and tentacle like, of breast cancers.. Now, it's becoming some sort of a rarity.. We hit that questionable, how do we move forward from here? Where do these new found tentacle legs stop? Is this tissue sample a lucky segment cut or will it truly be negative?? Having no way of knowing, for certain, my surgeon and I discussed just taking my breast.. I /WE couldn't keep going thru this.. We put surgery on hold while we had blood draws 4 hereditary testing as well as a full gene panel.. followed by a CT scan as we'd already done an MRI before ever cutting in. Nothing comes back worrisome or showing anything outside the original mammo/uls - 5mm mass... Fast forward to end of Jan, we take my right breast.. doc stops by, check in on me tells us how he was worrisome over the scar tissue so he spent more time scrapping that tissue til he was close enough fear of killing it had set in.. he was so confident he had it all this time . path report comes back from entirety of breast removed.. 85% encased with cancer!!! How could this be when nothing showed more than a 5mm mass !!! Oh & by the way- showing I still had 2mm cancer under my original incisions. 4th surgery - removal of entire scar. Low and behold it didn't stop after that 4th surgery either.. This " caught early, best cancer, one could ask for" became a living nightmare of continued surgeries trying like hell to catch this damn rare aggressive breast Cancer!! Which leads to how I ended up having a scheduled ultrasound guided left breast biopsy appointment with Dr Hadler. After my 4th surgical path report came back w cancer in new margin. My oncologist took my case to tumor board out of the city as well and Hadler had noticed my breast MRI looked relatively similar on the left as it did on the right. She wanted it biopsied- nowhere specific...as everyone now agreed after the hell the other one had given all these past mths, they should probably prolifically take it after we biopsied it 1st.. my surgeon, not comfortable at just random, spoke w her about her doing it there instead.. Got it set up that afternoon for the following Wed with her best/most seasoned ultrasound tech only to be called that Mon later in the day by their nurse navigator being told they don't accept my insurance.. when I inquire what I shall do she tells me that the financial lady suggest I just call Medicaid and switch to a different provider they take everybody except the particular one I have.. and that the financial lady will call me back that afternoon with the phone number so I can get everything taken care of before Wed appt. I didn't hear back until noon hours Tuesday from nurse navigator with a phone # to Medicaid. When I finally got through to someone they told me I had to call my provider, that they offer to see out of network providers.. The providers have to fill out a single case adjustment paper, takes 24/48 hrs for approval. I call the nurse back, she tells me she'll get on it. Unfortunately this poor woman had no clue what she was doing or even how to obtain the correct info she so desperately was trying to get her hands on, she followed their instruction only to get the run-around. Getting frustrated and nowhere she never gave up.. The financial lady never helped her and this went on for at least two and a half weeks I finally asked her if she wanted to call my member service #. I gave her that #, she finally got through to someone and was able to get the procedure authorized. Why accept Medicaid if you don't accept all their providers?!!? After 5 surgeries I finally have clean margins or so they say..

Experiencia negativa: My grandson was seen in the ER for gi issues. They did a lot of bloodwork and said everything checked out fine. When I looked at the results on the website when I got home, there were a lot of questionable numbers. I tried at least 5 times to call back the number they left for questions and couldn't get anyone to explain. They also took 2 handwritten messages and no call was ever returned. I ended up paying to have more bloodwork and have the new test results read by another office, his pediatrician. They could and should have explained the bloodwork they took. They just brushed it off and sent us out the door.

Experiencia fantástica: This would be the second time I brought my 95 year old mother to this ER hospital and I’m so please with the care of the Doctors and nursing Staff. Especially Nurse Sam. They were very informative on what they were doing and made sure my mother was comfortable. Communication was awesome from any question ask. Their kindness was Absolutely Beautiful.

Experiencia negativa: 0 STARS! Please whatever you do… DO NOT COME HERE!! I was there 16 hours and it was the worst hospital experience I have ever endured. When first arriving, I told the desk lady my issues and waited an hour to finally get pulled in. When getting my blood drawn, I first started to sweat. So the male nurse let me use his stool to lay my feet up on since I was sitting in a chair on my tip toes. Shortly after getting a few more tubes of blood drawn, I started becoming super dizzy. I turned to the female nurse and repeatedly said “I’m dizzy. I’m going to pass out. Help me” and she said “no you’re okay. You’re okay.” And i said “I see 2 of you right now. I am not okay” and she kept arguing with me and telling me I was okay when I was very much NOT OKAY. shortly after I pass out, fall out of the chair and smack my head on the ground. I fainted. I don’t know how long I was out for. Maybe 20 seconds… She kept trying to argue with me saying it was because I was seeing the blood. I donate plasma all the time, it wasn’t because of that. I hadn’t ate all day and I felt so unheard!!! I have a hugeeee knot on the back of my head from this. I will be suing. After that, they took their sweet time getting me a wheelchair. They took me to another chair in a room, where I spent the next 14 hours in pain and discomfort. Results came back from my scans saying I had a severe uti, severe kidney infection, and an ovarian cyst that popped. AND YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY FOR ME TO BE IN A DAMN CHAIR?! This hospital is stupid understaffed. I only encounter 3 nice nurses, the rest were hateful and acted like it was a burden for them that I needed help. There were so many other people there that were in pain and uncomfortable and nothing was done to help these patients. The guy next to me needed an emergency gall bladder removal and sat in a chair for 10 HOURS before receiving any kind of help. There was a lady who had fallen down 3 flights of stairs and she still wasn’t getting help and she had been there 4 days!! NEVER COME HERE!!!! I left after all those hours with nothing resolved. I am so disgusted by the way this hospital is run. And considering the other reviews, this place needs SHUT DOWN!! North kc is ur best bet.

Experiencia negativa: I saw LH Nurse Practitioner in the ER. I wish that I had taken a photo of my vital signs. I would probably have refused IV fluids, but my heart rate was a steady 133 and documented as 119. At a HR of 119 there didn't have to be a justification of why no intervention was taken. I went for a bladder infection with fever and vomiting. Urgent Care would not see me due to abdominal pain and vomiting. No Urine culture was ordered and I had to get a second antibiotic because the 10 of Cipro was not effective. So incompetent. If I would have taken a photo of my vitals and had proof, I would have contacted JACHO for the deliberate and unethical falsification of vitals. I'm sure this isn't the only time she has done this. Also paid my bill in full and was not credited with the amount. I had to send my cancelled check as proof. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll be contacting an attorney for medical billing fraud. Get it together, Centerpoint. Never again.

Experiencia negativa: I have cancer and needed to go to ER. My Oncologists made me go to Center Point because that's where he works out of. I was in the ER about 4 hours before they put me in a room on 4th floor, which turns out is the floor for ER overflow. Got moved next day to floor 7. All the nursing staff was very nice and polite, After 3 days of being in hospital, I had to ask for a shower and have bed clothes changed, didn't get another one though and I was there 8 days. Hygiene they don't care about ! House keeping came in one time to run their wet mop over the floor, nurses emptied trash. Blankets left piled up in chairs, just discussing. They had put 5 different iv's in me because they kept leaking, I said no to #6 IV told them they had faulty equipment . My arms are bruised all to hell, not a happy patient !!! I had 2 surgeries in 3 days, which went well. Told the surgeon to prepare my release papers because I was going home, never got them, they tried to tell me I couldn't leave. Guess what, my husband put my things in the truck and we left. I had to go for a radiation treatment, they took my IV out. Besides all this, 8 days and 2 surgeries later, I never did see my oncologists. I will not ever go back to this so called hospital and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I had radiation appointment every day to where paramedics had to come take me, and yes, the hall ways down in the ER area was packed, they all looked miserable, give them pain pills or keep them in la la land so they didn't have to deal with them. Just pure sadness. I would rate this hospital a -10 star. Don't go here even if you feel like death !!!

Experiencia fantástica: I was very sick and after having to go 3 different walk in clinics and the wait time being over an hour I decided to go to the ER. Once I arrived it didn’t take them long to get me back there and taken care of. Mike my nurse in the ER was super amazing and actually cared about me and how I was feeling. He was always checking on me. I wish I knew his last name but I hope this finds him. Mike, you’re amazing and passionate about your patients. If stars were a scale you’d be a SUPERSTAR!!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Horrible staff and inconsiderate. Urine vomit and people in makeup rooms in the hall. Being left for hours. A battlefield ER has better care than this dump of a hospital. I had to loose my cool to get the nurse to assist my family member. It is the worst I have ever seen in a hospital. Elderly left in beds in Halls for hours and staff on their Phones while the rooms lights are on and larms going off in rooms. A disaster for health care

Experiencia negativa: This place is horrible. Please do not take your loved one there. They do not clean after each patient. They do not care about the patients. They simply want to get as many as possible to rack up the money, without treating them properly. The told me they were going to order a head scan on my son, but didn't they explained someone forgot to put the orders in. They took blood but lost it, spilled blood all over his bedding but didn't change it, they lost his urine which resulted in labs being delayed. They failed to put the correct diet orders in which caused him to get a meal he couldn't eat which delayed him from eating basically withholding food at this point. They Saud it was no beds for him so they had him sleep in the hallway from Wednesday to Friday in the ER room having to deal with the hectic scene of an ER all the patients, police and other issues throughout the day. They changed their protocol at any given time that satisfied them. They also refused to respond to questions, concerns or issues that I have tried to address. Please please do not take your loved one their.

Experiencia negativa: Worst emergency room experience. I had come here due to having rhabdomyolysis. It took 5 different nurses to put a iv in my arm. I was never placed in a room only a hallway with others. I was never given my results to determine my condition when I asked the nurse kept having to go ask the doctor because he couldn’t come provide the information himself. I was sent home with no at home care. They said if the problem continues to call back. We had called back the prior day was basically told to call 911 which was not needed. I decided to go to Liberty Hospital the next day. I was basically charged $300 for iv bag. I live in Independence and will drive to Liberty Hospital rather than being seen by this location.

Experiencia negativa: This hospital is the worst ever!!! Please do not go to this hospital, your life is in jeopardy! Please read all reviews, this hospital isn't about taking care of patients. The staff is the worst ever in ER, they do not care about you! They are hateful and disrespectful. They kept me and my children away from my husband who was admitted to ER and kept for several days . All because I said this hospital was ghetto and the head nurse did not like that. Kicked me out and did not allow me back till he was finally discharged. Talk about ethics, they have none. Experiencia negativa: I was brought via ambulance due to a neck injury. Triage has set me in a wheelchair with no support for my neck, in a hallway. I'm in excruciating pain, which is why I am at the Emergency Department, and I have triage nurses telling me I need to be quiet while I support my head, in tears. Many employees here seem to be unhappy with their job and compared to where I normally receive care, St. Luke's East, which is much more hospitable and the employees seem to have human emotion. Not a single employee that has walked past me in the hallway has even offered me a tissue while I'm crying.

Experiencia negativa: They dont listen. Every time i try to tell them whats wrong like an infection in my lungs such as pnuemonia, they give me some weak antibiotics that does nothing and im tight back in there. My husband and i contracted h1n1 that went into pnuemonia 3 weeks ago. His wrnt into sepsis of his lings. They sent him home too early and he was right back. When we returned we too was rherr for 2 days in the ER. People in recliners and even laying on the floors without so much as a blanket. Told every room was full. I was back in a week with and infection in my leg i thought to be mirsa. Theu said i caught it intime but still cut it out and sent me home. Bow another week later its still here. So is rhe pnuemo ia and now i also have a perianal abcess and am on my way back but to a DIFFERENT hospital. Centerpount is a joke. Whatevers etong they will let it kill you before they figure it out or even try to. Ive never seen such pompus doctors in my life. The arrogance and horrible bedside mabor. The time before this i was rhere they stuck me 14 times over the course of 3 hrs tryjng ti get an iv catheter in my arm or anywhere. I looked lije a drug junkie by the time they was done and they blew 5 veins!!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been in and out of centerpoint due to chronic pain. Chronic pain they say “isn’t real” that my kidney issue shouldn’t be causing pain. Went in tonight in severe pain due to a surgery I had today on my kidney. Which then proceeded into a 4 hour wait that they only did a CT. No blood work, no fluids, no pain meds. The nurse practitioner said that “this isn’t real pain and if it’s this supposed stone in my kidney it’s not causing pain” which I’ve seen this nurse practitioner before and she refused care when my urology team told me to go into the ER in the first place. Chronic pain is chronic pain no matter the cause. If they would actually do their jobs and admit people to help and get them to see the right doctors if it’s not what they’ve been told before people wouldn’t be in and out of the ER in a pain level of 7 and higher on a constant basis. I then was escorted out by security for asking to speak to the attending physician and not the nurse practitioners (two of them) that I had already seen. Told “you were discharged and need to leave” I had to sit in the ED waiting area bawling my eyes out in a level of 8 pain and chronic pain that’s never resolved.

Experiencia negativa: I went to the ER with chest pain. I'd had some discomfort for nearly a week, but yesterday it got to the point that I couldn't take a deep breath due to the pain. I sat in the waiting area from 11am to 2 pm. They did do an EKG, chest x-ray, and drew blood. Sending me back into the waiting area. I was put into a" room" at 2pm. Still never seeing a Dr nor being told anything. Even when I asked. Finally, an ER Dr came in and listened to my chest, but had no answers for me. I sat until 3:45 with no contact. I told staff that obviously I wasn't having a heart attack and that I was leaving. They immediately went to get the Dr. She said, she agreed with me, but didn't know what was wrong with me. Nor why I was having the pain and referred me to my cardiologist, (who I might add; office is upstairs) No one contacted him. So after wasting my entire day and I'm sure, thousands of dollars; I was released after 5 hours in the same condition I went in with. Still in pain! I will never go back to this ER!

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE 3/16: I was in the ER for six hours back in December for what I thought was a pelvic prolapse. I ended up having a very serious issue which I won’t discuss here. I was never seen by a doctor and finally left as I was in a good amount of pain and bleeding. Not only do they break HIPPA laws by asking you for personal information with people lining the hallways but they charged my insurance company in excess of $10,000 for my visit. Really?!? All they did was draw blood, insert an IV, and do an ultrasound of my abdomen which lasted all of three minutes. And when I asked to leave after dealing with an extremely rude nurse, she jerked my IV out causing a hematoma that I had to deal with for weeks. I will be filing a complaint for being overcharged for care I didn’t even receive. Drive a few miles further and go to St. Mary’s or St. Luke’s for emergency care. I recently had surgery for my issue at the Centerpoint Ambulatory Center which was perfect. The ER? Not so much! I went to the ER at Centerpoint two days ago for a pelvic prolapse. I literally had my uterus hanging out of my body. They did manage to get me a room fairly quickly because I’m also a breast cancer patient. They were very crowded with people lining the hallways with a lot of empty rooms. They did pull labs pretty quickly and put an IV in but I had to stop them when they tried giving me morphine. I gave my husband morphine when he was dying of liver cancer. I was in discomfort but not that much freaking pain. They didn’t offer me anything else and actually acted mad that I refused the morphine. Pelvic ultrasound came next but the girl was young and didn’t seem to have much experience. Fast forward four hours. The nurse keeps saying it will be an hour. Two more hours pass and I still haven’t seen anyone. It even seems the nurse has forgotten about me. I had to detach myself twice to use the restroom. My anxiety was through the roof because I wasn’t familiar with what was happening. Finally, my husband tracked the nurse down. She said she would check while rolling her eyes. Apparently the doctor was on the phone and she didn’t know when they’d be off. She tells us there are only four doctors. At this point, I’m crying, hungry, thirsty, and ready to explode. The nurse says there are people dying. You don’t constitute an emergency. Are you freaking kidding me??? I asked her to unhook me and take my IV out which she did very roughly and quite frankly is lucky I didn’t kick her butt right then and there. Look, I can appreciate you’re busy but damn, get some more help. And have a gynecologist on staff. What kind of ER doesn’t have a gynecologist on staff? Anyway, I ended up taking my prolapsed uterus and leaving and going to St. Mary’s where I received excellent care and was in and out in two hours. I find it hilarious they have signs all over the place that say violence against staff won’t be tolerated but it’s because of the disorganization and lack of compassion by the staff that makes people frustrated. I will not be paying for anything they did because I never did get the results of my labs, urinalysis or ultrasound. I’ll be letting my insurance company know not to pay anything either. Avoid Cemetery Point at all costs. There are better places to go for emergency care.

Experiencia negativa: My 88 year old mother Walked into the emergency room at Centerpoint in October2023. She is now incapacitated both physically and mentally due to doctors there dismissing her concerns and engaging in unsafe discharges. My mother has very serious medical needs and at no time did a doctor avail themselves to explain her diagnosis or prognosis. Because of all the different meds to treat various illnesses, she became agitated. This hospiital wanted to administer HALDOL on a 88 year old bedridden woman as a remedy to calm her down. This is the most dismissive and unprofessional hospital I have ever been to in the Kansas City area. If you care about your loved ones DO NOT use this hospital and expect good care. You won't receive it. We are very disappointed and hurt. They are supposed to save people, not make them worse. They will suggest calling Hannah Johnson who doesn't return phone calls.

Experiencia negativa: People coming to ER… waiting in hallways and in recliners. No one checking on patients people had been waiting in recliners for 2 days and not gotten a room. Patients having to unhook their own IV’s to go to bathroom unattended. They tell people it will be a few hours to get a bed… 12 hours later they promise it will be soon. 2 nights on IV in an uncomfortable recliner and no room or bed. They had 40 people that had been going through this they told me waiting up to 2 days. What kind of system is this? Dr telling my daughter she had something wrong before tests were done scaring her then it’s not true. Trying to do all kinds of unnecessary testing. Stringing people along to get them to stay. People checking themselves out. Total mess. Is this what the medical system has came to? So disappointed and frustrated. Nurse was not nice once we said we wanted to leave

Experiencia negativa: I would give 0 stars if I could. This hospital is the most incompetent, negligent hospital I have ever dealt with in my life. Almost 4 years ago, they had my mother in their inpatient rehab unit. She had cancer that had metastasized to her brain and had severe swelling of the brain. It was documented in all of her records and on her patient board she was not able to feed/hold drinks herself. The nursing staff left her in the chair with scalding hot coffee alone, and allowed her to spill it and cause third degree burns on her inner thighs. They had to take pictures to document it every time her dressing was changed. Not only that, her call button was left all the way on her bed and she couldn't get out of the chair so she had to sit there screaming for the nurses to come in and help her. They also let her fall because they failed to see that she was on beside commode and one of the patient techs tried getting her OUT of bed and taking her to the bathroom. My mother died in this hospital. Fast forward to this past Wednesday. The pre op nurse completely wasn't watching my grandma who was under stroke protocol and in their care my grandmother fell and broke her hip. She literally just went in for GALLBLADDER SURGERY and now has a broken hip caused by Centerpoint's negligent staff and has to face inpatient rehab. DO NOT give this hospital ANY of your money. They will act like they care in order to cover up their incompetence. I love to see the look on their faces when I tell them about my mom in their efforts to try and downplay what happened to my grandma.

Experiencia fantástica: Danielle Boguslaw was AMAZING! She was so sweet & helpful & made the visit 10x better! I’m glad I got her for a nurse. Her assistant lady was also very sweet & helpful, can’t remember her name! But 10/10 service

Experiencia negativa: Be careful sending your loved ones here. ESPECIALLY if their insurance doesn’t cover their medical bills. A friend of mine just had open heart surgery and they are kicking him out on his own tonight. They do not care about your wellbeing, it’s all MONEY to them!

Experiencia positiva: my husband was admitted through the ED and stayed for 2.5 days. That was last week . Still waiting for a call from a nutrionist. Repeatedly asked for one. The dirtiest hospital I've been in. Saw 2 housekeepers, I couldn't get ones attention because she had her earbuds in and refused to look in my direction, the other changed the trash bags but left one laying on the floor. Rings around the toilet, floors not swept. Loved the rest of the staff, but the director of housekeeping and the nutritionist should be fired The nutritionist was supposed to call at 10 am, still waiting..

Experiencia negativa: My daughter had a broken wrist, and the ER didn’t have the utensils to cast her up. Waited in the ER for over 2 hours just for them to tell me that. Horrible Hospital! They referred me to there Clinic, knowing she needed a cast, went to a Children’s Hospital, and they refused to send a transfer referral.

Experiencia negativa: What a horrible place to go! Don't waste your time here when there are so many other places that are classy and have respect for patients! Went to do a urinalysis for a job and Kristy was her name. She was a complete jerk and didn't know how to do her job correctly and tried to make me feel stupid when she was in the wrong! Please don't come here it's called death hospital for a reason!

Experiencia negativa: This past Sunday my husband started experience ears ringing, dizziness, arm tingling and throwing up. He couldn’t walk cause he was so dizzy. Not knowing what’s going on I called 911. They took him to Centerpoint. Centerpoint did a ct scan and said he was having a mild stroke. They gave him TPA and put him in ICU! The ICU Dr said it wasn’t a stroke and just a severe case of vertigo. Two days later on Tuesday he’s discharged. Today (Thursday) he says his ears feel “clogged”. I told him to go to urgent care! Finds out he has a double ear infection! He explained to the Dr what happened over the weekend and she said “well the ear infection is what caused your vertigo!!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? Centerpoint never looked in his ears!!!! This caused both of us 2 days of work and let’s not mention how much we are going to have to pay for all this!!!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: If you have an emergency it would be better to drive to Lee's Summit. You will save time not waiting in the scary waiting room. When I was sent there by urgent care with a critical armband, it took an hour to be seen with vision critical glaucoma. The only place I could find to sit was next to the broken vending machine and a wet towel on the floor that looked like there was blood on it. I would say this is and option if say you are bleeding out. But if you can possibly wait another 15 min. Keep on trucking.

Experiencia negativa: This ER is a joke! My dad has been in the ER for over 24 hours! They don’t bring meals to him unless we request it, they haven’t taken his blood pressure for the past 6 hours, we have to ask for his daily meds to be given to him, the list goes on and on. When they took him for MRI, they took him on his bed and when it was moved I saw a infestation of ants along the wall his bed was backed up against. If we ask for something they either tell me they don’t know the answer or it’s not my job!

Experiencia negativa: Visit thru ER on 9/10/23. 2 hr wait in ER. Registration was completed on everyone in ER out loud with no confidentiality for all the patients. Seen in triage by RN and NP. Placed in hallway. Phlebotomy came in hall to draw lab. Again confidentiality broke. Phlebotomy dropped tourniquet butterfly tube other things on floor while getting more tubes out and reused the things on the floor. Went to room with paramedic to get IV started and more lab completed. Mentioned they ordered urine sample. Said she would give a cup never did. Fluids started for a short time. Returned to room with recliners. CT tech came. Noticed fluid all over floor. Stopped IV fluids . Went for CT and returned. No fluids started and fluid still all over floor which is safety risk. Moved to small rapid room number 2 with 2 recliners. Spoke with E R physician. Asked if fluids could be restated and if meds that were ordered by triage NP could be given. Spoke to nurse to get cup for urine sample. Nurse informed me that I had already done that and results were in my chart. I had not urinated since I had been there. I don't know whose results were on my chart. Waited to get transferred out of there. Worst experience ever. Discussed with patient advocate as well. Hopefully they look into this and make changes. Joint commission should follow up.

Experiencia negativa: AVOID THIS ER AT ALL COST. They don't care about their patients and will do anything to get you out. I made my husband go to the ER because he was in so much pain. They didn't care why he was in pain, just have him drugs and sent him home.

Experiencia negativa: Center Point charged $11,000 for a twenty minute ultrasound on my leg! All I have gotten so far is the proverbial "Run Around". No one can explain why a twenty minute ultrasound costs $11,000. They gave me two different numbers to call. I got the same extremely rude person each time. "Just pay your stupid bill and don't ask questions!" I have never done business with a company as impersonal and unhelpful as Center Point. I give them 0 stars!

Experiencia positiva: Its ok a little better than it use to be. Im not sure i like how they run their ER though. Seems chaotic. Not well organized to me. Just my opinion. Its an improvement from when i was there a couple years ago for an accident. It seems the personal touch, like they care is gone. Your run through Like your cattle going to market. And everyone is setting next to each other elbow to elbow not just in waiting room. Worst hospital ive ever been in and i have been in a lot of them through the years. Only reason i was there i had to take grandson there cause thats where parents said to take him and meet them there or i wouldnt have stepped foot in it. Ive made it plain on my paperwork i keep on me in case of emergency NEVER to take me there. Ill take my chances with the EMTs going to another hospital farther away I could go into the experiences that have brought me to this conclusion about their ER but i wont. After taking grandson there i still feel same way. Luckily it wasnt a life threatening issue that took us there. However, ive talked to a few others that have been it and liked it.

Experiencia negativa: The longer I'm in the hospital the more it takes out of me. They can't seem to understand allergic to one thing. They aren't treating my pain. Amd in fact they are treating me like I don't know where my pain is . Or that I'm just having a Period . I'm crying trying to beg someone to understand how bad this pain is. I'm so tired of not being understood.
