Experiencia fantástica: Casey, or KC, Hana, John...unfortunately I don't recall the names of the doctors, but the entire staff. Every single person I had contact with made me feel genuinely cared for and cared about. I have been sick and suffering for a while now and was reluctant to go to the emergency room. By the time they released me today I was feeling so optimistic it slipped my mind that I've still got work to do. But I'm confident that I'm headed the right direction and would have gone much sooner if I knew things would be so smooth. I wish I remembered more names but nothing but gratitude and respect for each person I encountered at Centinela Hospital. This is the 2nd time I've gone to them for an emergency and I recall feeling much the same on a previous visit years ago after a bike accident. As I packed up and left today I wanted to leave a note thanking them but didn't have the means to do it. And as I finish this review Joyce just called to follow up. Thank you Centinella hospital and staff. Appreciate you guys so much.

Experiencia negativa: If I could rate this place a zero I would , first off the most rude and disrespectful staff I have ever encountered ; wait scratch that second most horrible service since the first horrible encounter I had they sent me home telling me my child had no heart beat and to give birth at home and that everything was fine ….. As I was saying staff has no way to properly communicate nor how to inform patients on what treatment is being done. The whatever they are men / workers or techs come for my husband and treat me like a 18yr old child, and as the man then proceeds to say who are you and demands me to follow him like a child in the most condescending manner he truthfully acted so disrespectful …. If this place doesn’t own up to its name ( The morgue) I don’t know what is . Please when I say don’t bring your loved ones please do not !!!! I will advocate and make sure my loved ones get the proper care they deserve ! CENTINELA DO BETTER !!!! Or please close your hospital it does more damage than good .

Experiencia negativa: Worst hospital I have ever experienced. My father was sent to this hospital since his foot dr works with this hospital. My dad was hospitalized at two different occasions and both times they would forget to give him meals and they would get his hopes up and tell him he was going home and he was not going to leave that day. They treated him terribly and would not listen to his concerns. He would continuously press the nurse button when he was in pain and no one would respond. The last straw was him waking up with his arm huge and swollen and him calling the nurse for an hour and no one came. He got out of his bed and went to find a nurse and they told him to go to his room and someone would come. Eventually someone came and the nurse seen his arm was huge and she quickly took off his IV. He stayed with ice and his arm up by his head and again no one came to follow up. The nurses really do not care for their patients and because they are “old” they do not listen to their concerns. My dad told the nurse he was frustrated and wanted to leave and she told him he could leave whenever he wanted. Also, my dad on one of his stays stayed for 6 days. They would not come in to clean and disinfect at all. His sheets were the same sheets from day one. He had an open wound on his foot which had a high chance of infection and they still did not care to clean ever. My mom would go and help clean up the room the best she could

Experiencia negativa: By far the most horrible experience visiting a hospital. So much disorganization in the ER department. Got transported here because of a fall due to ALS and negligence. Been here 12hrs and keep getting the runaround from staff about transportation back home and dealing with discourteous staff. You would think that those are the people who do what they do to help people, but all they do is give you the runaround and be rude with their smart ass remarks. We don't choose to get hurt or be sick, but it happens to many of us. Upon getting in a room there was a urine specimen left behind, so unclean of the staff. How can a bed space area not be properly cleaned? DON'T COME HERE PLEASE!!!!! RUN‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

Experiencia negativa: THANK YOU CENTINELA HOSPITAL. THANK YOU FOR DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You can tell this place a product of low funding and low quality training amongst the personnel. I visited Centinela Hospital for opiate withdrawal on September 28th, here’s my experience: My symptoms were the worst. I was cold to the touch, My skin was turning a different color, I couldn’t breathe, my heart was racing, I felt weak and I could not keep my eyes open. I was greeted by some of the most ruthless people i’ve ever met in my life. From the so called “intake nurses” to security guards that were worried about what was in my bag rather than my condition. Part of what makes me feel hopeless, is living in the same hospital. I know that if death was knocking at my door, i’d still be expected to fill out “patient intake forms” regardless. It doesn’t matter if I feel like i’m dying or not. If I didn’t have my girl with me that day (to do the forms for me) I would’ve passed out on the emergency room floor. I spent hours waiting to be seen and when my time came I wasn’t treated with compassion. I was interrogated by a “CNA” that told me I “shouldn’t have did what I did”. Never did I ever approach anyone in a disrespectful manner, if anything I was as a mouse, tears in my eyes and all. For another 3 to 4 I waited as the nurses neglect and disregard every request I make. All I got was a blanket and a pat on the back. In the end, the doctor and nurses refused to prescribe me anything to feel better for the coming days. According to them I needed blood drawn and with the pain I was in, I couldn’t do needles. Since then i’ve been going through my journey of getting clean without the help of prescription medication, unfortunately. Til this day, I can’t get this experience off my mind. I think about it everyday. It feels like one of the many traumas that i’ve faced throughout my life and if I could do everything over, i’d make that 7 mile trip to Cedars Sinai and get some actual help.

Experiencia negativa: Went to the ER for a bad respiratory infection I had, I could barely breathe, I waited in the waiting room coughing and vomiting, most the night. I finally had to leave because my husband was being robbed in the parking lot. I was not the only patient who left that night because they were not being treated or care for. I think the hospital is racist because I am white.

Experiencia positiva: Centinela hospital should always be a last resort/option, I appreciate my family member having a positive encounter with a nurse name Tammy on the 7th floor. Tammy was attentive and made sure that we understood discharge instructions. I wish Centinela had more staff like Ms. Tammy. I could never give this hospital five stars, four stars is very generous, the hospital didn't feed my sister the first night that she was admitted, and they didn't explain why. I was able to bring her food at 8pm, she was admitted at 11am, we were not waiting on any test or procedures, the staff kept telling her they would get her something and would never return. I was so worried about her only because I know this hospital is not a good one.

Experiencia fantástica: My wife was a patient at Centinela Hospital for three days in September 2024. All the nurses who helped us were very professional, empathetic, knowledgeable about their jobs, and attentive to my wife. Two nurses stood above the rest: Keliah Clarke and Adora King were absolutely excellent. I would definitely recommend Centinela Hospital as a place to go for medical care. It was an amazing experience.

Experiencia negativa: I have been waiting in the emergency room for 6 hours to be examined. I just went in for an examination and the doctor didn't even look at me. I can't stand the pain and he said he would give me an injection. I waited for 2 hours and I am still waiting. This is really nonsense.

Experiencia negativa: WHAT DIS ORGANIZATION THEY HAVE AN OVERFLOW EMERGENCY ROOM FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE BEING ADMITTED OF 30 PLUS BEDS TO MY UNDERSTANDING I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING ACROSS FROM THE NURSE'S STATION AND HEARING SOME CRAZY CONVERSATIONS NURSES DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ ORDERS OUT OF COMPUTERS AT LEAST ON 3RD SHIFT AND A BAG OF DORITOS AND NEVER SEEN HER MOVE AWAY FROM HER COMPUTER..... It is very much discriminatory as far as there is no rhyme or reason as to who gets a bed first I do know this if you do not speak up for yourself you will get left just sitting in a corner and ran over it is very easy to see what California is doing about their homeless problem as they are definitely overtaking the hospitals so far I have been discriminated against an outright flat ignored for a patient of another color it is the same old s*** entitlement and this hospital was falling right in line with those people that feel entitlement. It is easy to see why this hospital was investigated and is continuing to be investigated for multiple violations I know up here in the overflow I literally seen one nurse running around like a chicken with her head cut off and doing everything while another one says it her computer and has not moved So Shout to Lana.... (Easy to see why you're charge nurse) They ran out of Blankets in the ER hard to believe cedar Sinai has their name attached to this but of course all cedar Sinai cares about is there Richie Rich people in Beverly hills...... Let's face it another downfall of healthcare system in the United States and another episode of enough damage done To me by them for another lawsuit

Experiencia negativa: The nurses were angels, especially Jamie and Fellie. The Dr's. Were not good. They gave me conflicting info. They didn't tell me things that were important. Also, they didn't approve my most important medicine, which was for my heart, so I had to pay, when I shouldn't of had to. Also, they were very hands off. I was not happy with the Drs.

Paul Dondalski 1 year ago

Experiencia negativa: This hospital was an incredible disappointment. I arrived at 5 am for a shoulder injury with considerable pain. It was about an hour to get an X-ray followed up with no examination of any kind. An additional 2 hours waiting until I told a nurse I was leaving because of lack of care. That was when I was given an arm sling that was too small and discharge papers. The ER was filthy and much of the staff were playing games or on social media while patience were not receiving even basic care. This hospital should be investigated immediately.

Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend this hospital to anyone They have very unprofessional work ethic. They leave you sitting without even check in on you I went at 6:30pm and getting Anything done until I complained At 1:30am the next morning..And after being Dehydrated they stuck me 10 times just put a IV in.

Experiencia negativa: Some nurses are nice but Very poor communication between staff, this includes nurses doctors and case managing. My dad was in the hospital for days only because his insurance wouldn't approve home health and could discharge him. Never gave me a concrete diagnosis for my dad. And the whole experience was pretty much upsetting. If I ever had a choice to come back I'd say no thank you

Experiencia negativa: Centinela has a few good nurses and doctor's, but overall, they need to be shut down. Most of the staff mistreat patients, ignore patients needs, misdiagnosed and administer the wrong medication at times. Its a good thing I know what my body needs. The nurses almost gave me insulin and I'm not a diabetic. They treat some people like they don't matter or they don't want to be bothered. I was ignored every time I was there and thats been 3 times within 3 months.

Experiencia negativa: Hello everyone, Just want to give you a heads up, if you go to the "Hiring Event" that is offered here at this hospital every Wednesday from 10AM-2PM DO NOT GO if you are trying to get a job in the Non-Medical Field. These people do a TERRIBLE job at SPECIFYING WHO CAN AND CANNOT GO! I recently went to try to see if I could at least be interviewed by a Hiring Manager OR EVEN just get the benefit of being at a productive Hiring event and when I go there I was met by the most terrible and lazy customer service I have ever received in my life! Theres a reason why this hospital gets Sued and is always battling lawsuits in court because there are individuals that can care less about there job. There just there to collect a paycheck, this is why there are also health disparities between minorities in local community clinics and hospitals, . Back to my point if someone reads this beware and if you work at Centinella hospital do the entire community a favor and be specific with the events you have and who can and cannot attend, instead of rudely shutting someone off and blaming another colleague for the lack of information you yourself do not give them. If this hospital cannot help the community then it should be shut down!!

Experiencia negativa: Currently at patient @ centinella, I was admitted for asthma & a horrible fall also been coughing up blood & I don't feel any better. The pulmonary Dr's are great and the nursing staff but Razi and his nurse praction gives you medicine that doest help & when you tell razi/nurse praction for other suggestions razi/n.p gives you nothing & makes you suffer. When asked numerous times for help crying in pain not able to physically walk or sleep or eat,his advice is to go home.He is not a pulmonary Dr going home could literally harm me, I'm sick with Respiratory issues coughing up blood & his telling me to go home??? where I can potentially become sicker & I'm not stable blood sugar is high. I'm on 2 liters of oxygen sleep apena & I'm extremely out of breath & very dizzy. He treats people as if they are drug abuser when you are physically in pain. Then he has the audacity to say make an appointment with his private practice so he can see me outside of hospital. When he treats me so poorly. I don't know how he is able to work as a doctor so scary,so sad

Experiencia positiva: I was admitted for a heart attack on 8/13 and was released on 8/18 (yesterday). I survived (obviously) and I'm actually feeling pretty good. So, I have nothing bad to say about the competency of the doctors at Centinela Hospital. However, they have communication problems at this hospital. When I was in emergency, one of the assistants was getting ready to hook me up to a dialysis machine until someone came in and stopped them. Also, they brought in a webcam so I could conference with a euro specialist, until they realized it was the guy in the next bed who had neuro trama. Also, it seems two of the the nurses I had were Asian and were not 100% fluent in English. One of the Asian nurses, although a nice person, clearly didn't understand how to use a portable oxygen cylinder. She kept trying to convince me the cylinder was empty when I told her twice that the problem was regulator was just not on straight, I could hear the air escaping from the regulator because it was on crooked. Finally someone who did understand what I was saying came by and straightened her out. One of the nurses woke me up at midnight to do a Covid test, then another one came in to do a Covid test at 3:am! I refused the second Covid test and told her to find the person who stuck that Q-tip up my nose earlier. Lastly, you know the board in the room, with the patient name, pain level, nurse name and all that stuff. It wasn't until the last day until the primary patient langage got updated from Spanish to English. And the only reason it did get updated was because I pointed it put to them. So, the bottom line is, I have no worries about the actual medical doctors. But a lot of the opertions of the nurses and assistants are a bit sloppy. It does seems like the kind of a place were a person could come in for a heart attack and end up on a table while the doctor mistakenly prepares to remove an apendix!!! Or worse, a person could come in needing an apendix removed and end up getting heart surgery!! But hey, since I survived a heart attack and it looks like I'm recovering very well, I gotta give at 4 stars for that!!! Oh, one more thing. My room had no telephone in it. My sister had to bring me a cell phone so that I could stay in touch with family. Unfortunately, I have been in a few hospitals in my life. But I can't recall EVER having a private room with NO phone in it!!!!

Experiencia negativa: It was the absolute worse experience I have had while being a hospital inpatient! I festered in, ER for some time and eventually a nurse mentioned that I was going to be admitted. She could not tell me why I was being admitted and Doctor never did. I was transferred to another room adjacent to EE. The vents in the room had soot and dirt covering them. I lay there for another inordinate time period. I was never offered hospital clothing other than a gown. I remained in my jeans for the three days I was there..When eventually transferred to an inpatient room I still had not been informed as to why I was being admitted. Staff were loud and boisterous, frequently gathering outside my door and laughing loudly and more or less hollering to each other. There was also no respect for privacy.Staff would walk into room without knocking on door and leave door open when they left, it never got any better and I tried to contact social worker so I could be released. Called nine times and she never returned voice mail. Eventually met with manager who said she would talk to staff. Things changed thanks to her intervention. As an added insult there was an alarm set on my bed to inform staff when I got out of bed. No one told me about it. I attempted to get out of bed and loud siren sounded. I pressed nurse call button repeatedly to no avail. I thought it was a fire or something. I yelled for help and a nurse assistant informed me that I had activated the alarm.ABSOLUYELY NO INTERNALIZED Concept of PATIENT CENTERED CARE!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I received very good inpatient care at Centinela Hospital Medical Center from 08-08-24 to 08-10-24. All Doctors, Nurses and Staff Members were very caring and they made my stay there comfortable. I have Epilepsy and High Blood Pressure can cause me to become confused and not understand my situation, My VA Home Health Care Nurse was visiting me when I became confused, when I was able to understand what was happening I was in the Emergency Room at Centinela Hospital Medical Center, I was instructed to continue talking my BP Meds daily, my MRI Test was good, again I felt safe and comfortable in that Hospital. Experiencia negativa: DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I’ve been here what seems like forever. I’m in excruciating pain and I feel like they are amused by my discomfort. I’ve seen patients come and go but here I sit. I want to just leave but I’ve waited for so long. If I leave it will be all for nothing. At least if I leave I can take some ibuprofen at home. That’s better than just seething in pain. I hate it here.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I saw the nurse that screamed to the top of his lungs to call CPS. I’ve never been to the piece of shT hospital as a patient & had I been able to speak I would’ve asked the Paramedics to take me to Cedar Sinai. I had a panic attack last year in Sept & my son called the ambulance & instead of taking me to Marina Del Rey, they took me to this raggedy a$$ hospital because it was “closer”. I’m walking distance from Culver City, but I digress. While I was in the emergency hallway I can hear a doctor talking to me, but I’m unable to open my mouth or my eyes, I’m already scared & this piece of trash started yelling “someone call CPS, call CPS”. I’ve never in my life been treated like that. He tried to stereotype me & I’m nothing like he’s ever seen before. That hospital is disgustingly unkept & the staff is just as raggedy as the hallway & rooms. I felt like I was in a bad dream, & by the time I could speak I cursed out the security, the nurse & everyone else nearby for tolerating such low budget behavior. I’m contemplating a lawsuit for the way I was treated. After being there for 4 hours they never ran a test on me & I screamed to be discharged as soon as I was able to calm down & speak. I wish my son would’ve asked for the nurses name so I could’ve cussed him out before I left. My son said it was an Asian man yelling at me & I hope he gets everything he deserves.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give a lesser star I would. Please, please, please don't EVER go to this hospital. They are the most incompetent, group of imbeciles I've ever had the displeasure of encountering in my life. I collapsed on the pavement directly on my knees and instead of the ambulance taking me to my regular hospital of course they brought me to the nearest. Upon arriving I explained that I was in excruciating pain, they gave me a Tylenol. For the next six days I was moved, tested on, tost and flopped around like a ragdoll. The whole time they where only concerned with my dialysis number, and did not do anything in regard to the reason I was admitted, which was the fall. The whole while the doctor )Dr. Tung) refused to provide any pain management. I was initially told that I had no broken bones, which was a great relief. On the 5th day, however , after the second excruciating MRI, Cat scan and X-ray they came to me and said I have a spinal injury, and wanted to schedule an operation on the following day. Now knowing I have a spinal injury they still would not increase the pain management. After this another doctor came in and said I fractured my pelvic bone , did nothing for but they pain management, but wanted to operate and put pins on my hip. On the 6th -day they came to me and said I my not walk again , and wanted to operate on that the following day. Mind you not one doctor has shown me any of the test result, showed no X-ray results, no kat scan NOTHING!!!!, and I'm supposed to take this all on their word, and let you operate on me, RIGHT! As for the other staff, all I have to say is I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. Rude, unaccommodating, no empathy, mad, irritated that you need help. You have a better chance of striking gold in your bed pan than getting one of them to answer the nurse help light. Nasty and argumentative, after I realized I was in a dangerous situation and a hostile environment, it became a matter of survival, I begin to create process to maneuver their prison-like system, to get a nurse i began disconnecting my heart monitor to get a response. I kept a fork from a lunch try to scratch myself. After you see how they really don't want to help you in anyway, you stop asking for assistance and start trying to figure out a way to manage. I began to exaggerate gratitude for the slightest duty, for fear they would harm me and because I was at their mercy and didn't want to offend in the slightest way or God knows how they would retaliate. Throughout the day and amplified at night I could hear blood curdling screams , people screaming nurses repeatedly, or help, coming from the random rooms of the dimly light corridors. The Dr. Would not transfer me to my regular hospital so I was stuck over the weekend. I made plans that if I where not transfered on Monday, I would hire a private ambulance to come get me. But for the interest of time I could go on, let's just suffice it to say STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE UNDER PAIN OF DEATH!! LITERALLY!!!

Experiencia negativa: Why even have an option of one star when this hospital deserves zero stars. Honestly it looks like they hire anyone. Doctors and nurse don’t even know anything nor seem to like their job. All I got to say is that they’re useless. I hold a lot of grudges towards this hospital due to a very heart breaking experience that I had to witness. One last thing if you’re suffering and are in lots of pain I don’t recommend you to come here, one you'll never find a nurse around and two they'll let you suffer. They don't care about you; they just wear a coat to look nice I guess.

Experiencia positiva: This was my second time being treated at Centinela Hospital. They are true professionals. I received kindness and care from everyone from the ambulance staff to the person who cleaned the room and emptied the trash cans. Went for a hand X-ray, was never told if it was covered or how much it could cost despite asking serval times, was billed 2k for this, and then am unable to get an itemized bill to fight it (medi-care cost would probably be $3-400)

Experiencia positiva: The medical team and most of the nursing staff were amazing! My mom received really great care while she was a patient there. The team of doctors and staff really cared for her well being. Kudos to the nurses that cared for her daily! Very clean hospital and fully equipped! Only giving 4 out of 5 stars because we had a few nurses that hardly ever checked on my mom during their shift. Other than that everything else was great.

Experiencia positiva: This review is for my father. His name will be kept confidential. But my grievance is that promises to contact me before certain treatments or procedures were done did not happen. I wasn't advised of doctor's discharging my dad. I was not provided with updates prior to his discharge. Receiving skilled nursing facility advised me once they received my father. NEVER found origin of a severe infection. I was not please with that or the deep bruising that occurred with so much testing. Labs were not discussed with me. There definitely can be improvements.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter was brought in by ambulance due to lethargy. Even the emt said she was showing signs of lethargy and dehydration and needed fluids . The hospital refused to give her a room and give her fluids . Said she didnt need them. Nurse said they were going to run tests and nobody ran tests on my daughter either . This hospital and these doctors are inhumane and insensitive . I am convinced they do not even truly like their job. Steer clear if you actually need medical attention. Update: We took our daughter to Harbor UCLA medical center and she was not only giving one round of fluids but two. She was also given iv insulin as her sugar was very low. They even contemplated on admitting her but she perked up thank God. If we had stayed at Centinela, who knows what would have happened to our daughter .

I was not able to eat solid food but they would not listen until the day I was released. I was not offered any hygiene cloths or shower or wash cloths. I know that a hospital is not the Ritz Carlton or Holiday Inn but to lay in bed for over 48 hours, a person might need to clean up a little. However for as busy as it was, I think they were as kind as possible. I appreciate them for helping me.

Experiencia negativa: Centinela Hospital Medical Center If you have any friends or family members at this hospital GET THEM OUT NOW! I have a family member currently suffering , needs cardiac surgery ASAP, he was rescheduled twice! The last time he was rescheduled, the family was notified right at the appointment time, that they didn’t have any anesthesiologist !!! How do you not have any anesthesiologist on hand On the same floor, 2 other patients were scheduled for a surgery and they’re down there now, being taken care of but what about our family memeber? Myfamily member has now been skipped!! This is the absolute worst experience anyone could go through! Hospitals are supposed to take care of you and make sure you feel comfortable as much as possible …My family memeber hasn’t even been checked in for pain, been bathed…They don’t feed you properly!! This hospital mistreats their patients & now the Immediate surgery still hasn’t been done!! stay as far as you can away from this hospital. You don’t wanna experience what we are going through. Experiencia negativa: Centinela provided a HORRIBLE experience for my family during my elderly aunt’s stay at the hospital. Some of the staff were okay but as for others, I don’t even know how they are employed. Upon my aunt’s admission, it was found that she had a DVT (blood clot in lower leg) March 9th, but clinicians failed to inform anyone until a week and half later, March 19. How do you wait that long to notify family of a possibly life altering complication? Finally, once notified they explained the treatment options to me as I am power of attorney. I took time to discuss it with family. I returned a day or two later to find they took her to begin a surgical procedure for her DVT without even having our permission yet! This was insane! Later, they suggested she go to a SNF for rehab and we declined because she did not want to be in a nursing home setting. I requested inpatient rehab. Instead of informing me on the results of family’s rehab request, they discharged my 100 y/o aunt to a random SNF anyway, without family’s permission of even telling us where she was! Now we have to drive 45 minutes to an hour anytime we want to see her. I am a clinician myself and work in a hospital. Never have I ever heard of such! Appalling to say the least. I called the hospital and they refused to tell me where she was. I spoke to a head nurse named Lin who answered the phone. She became very nasty and raised her voice when I asked to speak to a higher up. She refused to tell us where my aunt had been discharged and said we needed to wait until Monday to speak to a social worker. At this point, my 100 y/o aunt is missing if she’s not at her house or the hospital admitted to. We can’t wait the rest of the weekend to find out if she’s safe or not. The nurse then hung up the phone on me! Lin has to be one of the most unprofessional nurses I have ever encountered. I called back and a pleasant woman from hospital administration gave us the details of where my aunt was discharged (without our permission). I have been practicing for 9 years in hospitals and clinics nationwide. I have never witnessed this type of misconduct nor would I ever allow any of my loved ones to go through a horror story like this again! I feel so bad for those who live in disadvantaged areas and have to put up with this type of nonsense, don’t know any better or don’t have a voice. This directly reflects upon the type of leadership in that facility.

Experiencia positiva: I was admitted into Centinela Hospital early Tuesday morning for complications with breathing. I received excellent doctors care and very caring & concerning care from all my scheduled nurses, both day and night shift. One nurse who wasn't assigned to my room, 8121. Her name is Mary Matthew. I got upset over a misunderstanding totally on my behalf. Mary came to me in concern and immediately talk to me with a care & understanding that calmed me down & she then checked on me the 3 days I was there. It was her professional concern that stood out to me. She is extremely good at her job of 33 years. Two up for her. P.S. One sour note. Please get rid of those small noisy plastic (prison) pillows.

Experiencia negativa: Worst hospital the staff are inconsiderate, and liars. My husband was in the waiting area for 5 hours, he had chest pains, vomiting and he passed out in two ocacions going to the bathroom. I ask a security guard for help he said he is not supposed to touch the people on the waiting room. Finally some male nurses came I thought there were going to take my husband to see a doctor. All they did was to pick my husband up and sit him back in the waiting room. Didn't took his vitals to see if he was okay. We waited for 5 hours and still my husband didn't got no medical attention. I ask the staff at the front desk how long will be till my husband get seen. She lied said we are only waiting for 3 hours. When my husband passed out the first time the lady on the front desk changed the time of our arrival and said we were only there for 3 hours when we were there since 3pm. It was 8:30 pm and my husband never was seeing. I did warning the front desk lady if anything happened to my husband for there neglect I would put a LAWSUIT against the Centinela hospital.

Experiencia negativa: As the clock struck the ungodly hour of 3:30 am, my wife and I found ourselves thrust into the chaotic belly of this medical establishment. Her condition, a dire and urgent affair, demanded swift attention. Yet, as we were ushered into a dimly lit room by a flustered attendant, little did we know that the nightmare was just beginning. The scene that unfolded before us was straight out of a horror movie. The staff, scurrying about in a frenzy, seemed to be engaged in a macabre dance of disorganization and panic. It was as though the very walls of the hospital were pulsating with a sense of impending doom. In the midst of this chaos, a moment of sheer humiliation descended upon us. My wife, wracked with discomfort, required assistance to relieve herself. After what felt like an eternity of searching, a nurse finally appeared, bearing a bedpan like a grim harbinger of our suffering. But alas, her aid was short-lived. No sooner had my wife been positioned on the bedpan than the nurse vanished into the ether, leaving me to navigate the mess and humiliation alone. As I embarked on the perilous journey down the hall in search of solace for my wife, fate dealt us another cruel blow. Our doctor, a figure of authority and supposed expertise, chose that precise moment to grace us with his presence. And there she sat, my beloved wife, exposed to the world in all her vulnerability, her dignity stripped bare along with her sense of privacy. With a dismissive wave of his hand, the doctor retreated, promising to return at some vague, distant hour. And so, we languished in that room of horrors, the minutes stretching into hours as we waited for salvation that seemed to never come. It was only through sheer force of will and a dash of divine intervention that my wife's condition finally began to improve. But the scars of that night, the indignity and neglect we endured, will haunt us long after we leave these walls behind.

Experiencia negativa: From the time I entered the ER to the time I left service was terrible. It took an hour and a half to be triaged. I had an injury to my head and asked the checkin desk for an ice pack and was angrily told no and I would get that at triage. After, I was taken back to be seen and was told I would be given some pain medication. Medication didn’t come for an additional two hours. I was asked to urinate in a cup prior to my CT scan and waited over an hour for someone to appear to tell me again they need me to pee in a cup to which I replied I did that over an hr ago. After my CT scan, my ice pack had worn off and was completely melted. I walked into the adjacent room to find a room full of staff, on duty nurses, PAs, all gathered around the tv watching the Super Bowl and asked for an ice pack. To which none of them replied. I asked a doctor walking down the hallway and she replied she didn’t work here. Which then obviously raises concerns either why she is lying or why she is behind closed lock doors and isn’t suppose to be. So I asked her if she could please ask one of the nurses in the room to get me an ice pack as I had tried and no one responded. I told her I had just tried and she told me to try again in a few minutes. I asked her again to try and please help and she just walked off. Then finally after 45 minutes of waiting I found another nurse who was able to provide me with an ice pack. I finally signed my consent forms after I had been treated both with a CT scan and with pain reliever (not sure what strength as they didn’t say). Now it has been close to 5 hours waiting in total and when I am finally given my discharge papers I am not told with what the diagnosis is, have no idea any of the follow up, have tons of questions and the person just had me sign and walk away with no conversation. I truly believe the standard of care provided was negatively impacted due to the Super Bowl being played on multiple televisions throughout the hospital for the entire duration. Other patients in the ER at this time had similar treatment issues. One patient in the waiting room announced to the entire populous in Spanish that if anyone had elderly or sick patients the staff is all too busy watching the game to care. I’ve never been treated so poorly and would highly recommend going to any other hospital over this one.

Experiencia fantástica: Thank God I'm not sickly and have not had to experience hospitalizations. Upon arriving at your facility, from registration personnel, initial check in staffers taking my vitals, then being moved to the ER, I was met with compassion, professionalism, exemplary care. I was admitted and stayed 3 days. I had no idea how acutely ill I truly was coming thru those doors. I wish to express sincere thanks to Elise the RN and Kyle in the ER, also nurses Ted and Terry and Christa on the Telemetry unit. My heart was truly touched by their extensions of long, continuous, absolute and untiring efforts to help me regain some semblance of normalcy regarding my health. The doctors were straightforward, knew exactly what had to be done and exacted their plans of care accurately and quickly. I wish to thank you ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. I forgot what it felt like to feel the way I do today---post Covid, feeling sick had become a part of my life. Thanks to your amazing staff, I'm whole AGAIN. Debra Chavez

Experiencia negativa: I've literally never had a worse experience at any hospital. And that's saying something, cause I've had an overnight colonoscopy. I was told soooo much misinformation that I questioned whether the doctor or any of the nurses had ever been to med school. I was poked by the nurse literally 9 times trying to get the vein. And I've been told I have great veins. I was lectured and patronized for traveling to California from Utah when I was 28 weeks pregnant. They tried to tell me that was ill advised even though it's not and my entire midwife staff at home said it was more than okay. They kept me for 12 hours, and didnt even find any answers (shocker) after running no tests. They billed my insurance wrong like 4 times, until finally I gave up and decided to pay the last few portions of the bill or if pocket, but their phone system doesn't work, and when I finally got connected with an agent, they hung up on me. The staff at the front desk of the hospital were incredibly rude and didn't care if they made you cry. If I'm ever in need of medical attention in LA again, I'll just go ahead and die. It'll be cheaper and less stressful

Experiencia fantástica: I was hospitalized here for the Thanksgiving holidays on last year. I must say as bad as I thought it would be with me being in the hospital for the holidays I was actually impressed. The nurses and CNAs made me feel so good that I forgot all about the holiday. I was just thankful that I was in the hands of people who have the tenacity and skill to look after me with kindness and professionalism. There were a couple of times I found myself getting depressed about my condition and there were certain nurses and help that stuck out to me that went over and beyond whether it was conversation or just an ear to listen to me vent my fears and frustrations. CNA Anika Labon was one who made my stay a pleasant one. She checked on me periodically. I didn't have to wait long at all for assistance when I rang the bell for the nurses station. She is indeed a sweet soul. Very very nice. I actually had her as my CNA a couple of nights that I stayed. Another person that treated me very well was Nurse Ariana. She was very knowledgeable of all the medicines that she had to give me through my IV. She made sure I was comfortable. She handled herself with such empathy and professionalism. She also waited downstairs with me for my ride when I was discharged. Because of them I would recommend Centinela Hospital to anyone seeking care. On a scale of 1 to 10 they definitely get a 10.

Experiencia positiva: When I got to the ER check in I was told they have a 6-8 hour wait. My whole body felt numb, my heart rate was high and I was hyperventilating. The lady behind the front desk checked my vitals and got me a bed. I was so happy and I was taken care of good by the nurses. Except I don’t like that nurse Emily called my cup of urine kool aid (I was on my period) I thought it was a racist comment. I asked her if she can bring me a pair of socks. She said she’s new so she doesn’t know where to find them. She could’ve asked her co workers. I asked a heart x ray employee for food and he said I might not be able to get none because I’m about to get discharged. Although I was hungry after being there for hours. Despite of that I felt better after being given iv fluids & medication to slow my heart rate.

Experiencia negativa: The room was around 50° so I froze. I vomited for about 24 hours but that was never addressed. Even after I gave one of the nurses the list of medication I take, I didn't get about 90% of my medication, including my stomach meds (Prilosec). My blood pressure was up due to the saltiness of the food and the fact that I never got my heart or my blood pressure medication. It seemed that about half the time the nurse's equipment didn't work and she'd have to go find a machine and computer that worked.

This hospital is a complete joke and dirty never again going to this place!! Never go here!!

Experiencia negativa: Deceitful, inhumane, useless. Just go elsewhere for care. Went to the ER as COVID positive and with Hep A symptoms because my symptoms were worsening. Primarily, I was severely dehydrated because I couldn't ingest fluids orally due to severe nausea and vomiting. A nurse only took my blood pressure and blood oxygen level after a couple of hours in. No doctor saw us and no care was given. After 4 hours and 15 minutes of waiting in the waiting room, my body couldn't take the toll of sitting in the waiting room and I went back home since no doctors were available. The hospital later charged for the full ER visit and sent a claim for $348.65 to the insurance and a bill of $200 to my address 4 months later. So I got charged so much for no care received and what's worse is the dehumanizing experience in their waiting room. This is the worse hospital I've ever been to in my life. Patients are passing out, peeing and laying on the floor of the emergency room. The security guard comes in every now and then to tell patients to get back in the seats. Months later and I am still getting grief from this hospital. I called them to ask about this bill and they asked me sent a letter of dispute to them which I did, detailing everything. Today, they sent me the same bill with a red Final Notice on it threatening to assign bill collection to a third party without ever replying to my letter of dispute in writing or over a call. Today when I called them, they said that my letter of dispute was rejected two days after I sent it but they never informed me. The reason they gave was: because my triage (blood pressure, oxygen level) was done [2 hours after I arrived], I have to pay them for the emergency room visit. It is absolutely deceitful.
