Experiencia fantástica: On October 11th, I was put into the hospital at UT for possible stroke, I spent a week there, this was the lowest week of my life, as I couldn’t feel anything in my left leg from my knee all the way through my foot and I couldn’t walk, and I couldn’t shower with out being exhausted I couldn’t read because it exhausted me as well, I was in such a bad place, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and of course physically. The twentieth of October until today( I am being discharged in an hour ), I am leaving feeling physically better than I have this entire year, mentally and emotionally better than I have in three years. This is because of Tyler who is one hell of a young man he is an Outstanding physical therapist, he is mindful, exceedingly smart, completely dedicated health professional and a capable loving young father! Maddie, FUGGEDABOUTIT, she is a very passionate, determined, hardworking lady that just explodes with confidence for her patients!! SAM, to you the work and time you have put into helping me reboot my balance, helping to learn different ways building my strength, my stamina, my balance, and most importantly to me helping get back in my kitchen, and to walking my dog Luci, I will be forever grateful to you, forever. Dr. Summer is the most straightforward honest friendly, and caring doctor I’ve ever had. Nurses Rhonda, Deborah, and all the rest I’m so sorry if I can’t get all the names of all the therapists, nurses, can’s, case workers, really every single soul here deserves a shout out, because there’s not a bad person here they are everyone so vigilant and AMAZING. Special shout out to SUELYN( I hope I spelled that right), welcomed me when I got here and she set the tone she is absolutely one of my all time favorite humans, thank you ma’am. Experiencia negativa: My wife was referred to Knoxville Rehab Center recently. We left a week earlier than scheduled due to both of us not feeling safe at the facility. My wife had two night nurses over her two week stay that were totally unprofessional, disrespectful and unsympathetic to my loved one’s recent stroke. After the first incident, we voiced our concerns to the charge nurse. I let them know that I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my wife alone.We were told that we would not have this particular nurse again and we didn’t. We live an hour and a half from the facility. When the second incident took place a week and a half later, we made the decision to leave. The therapy team was great until time to leave. We were given the wrong size wheelchair to use at home that would not fit through our restroom door. We were told from the equipment provider that the therapy team was given this information but it was never communicated to us. We were discharged on a Saturday and here it is Tuesday afternoon without the correct equipment. We are also still waiting on her medical records. We requested those prior to leaving. When we called yesterday we were told that they are still on the desk where they were signed. Would not recommend!!

Experiencia negativa: Edit: Since being discharged things with this facility have gotten worse. The wrong size wheelchair was delivered to the facility prior to my discharge. We didn’t know it was wrong until we got home on Saturday and it wouldn’t fit through the doors to our bathrooms. First thing Monday morning we called the company who provided the wheelchair to discover that they told whoever ordered it that they didn’t have the size I needed in stock and it would be a week. Not one person passed that along. This led to unnecessary added hardship and us having to try to find the correct wheelchair in our own!!! Also, note: If you leave a negative review, the reply you receive and number given to call goes to a mailbox that isn’t even tied to the person who replies to your review, nor will you receive a call back. I had a stroke. Knoxville rehab was strongly pushed and highly recommended from UT Medical Center. Our first night was horrible due to an awful nurse. We were going to leave and go to Patricia Neal Rehab right then. We were convinced to stay. My therapy team was a Godsend! They are beyond dedicated and truly care about each life they touch. Unfortunately, they each work with the patients 1 hour a day per discipline (PT, OT, ST) 5 days per week. The rest is spent in your room and left in the care of the nursing staff. God help you!!! I will say, the majority of the nurses are fantastic. But the ones who aren’t, are so bad that it takes away from the nurses whose hearts are in the right place. It appears there is a huge issue on night shift. When I first arrived I had difficulty speaking. Because of the horrid nursing issue, my husband didn’t feel comfortable going home to rest. Fast forward. Things got better. Except the food. Different story. But it is a hospital after all. We’d almost forgotten about that awful first night. My plan of care was for a 3 week stay. On night 13, I got the worst nurse I’ve ever had in my entire life!!! So bad that I’m leaving. I can’t even imagine one person treating another in that way, much less it being a nurse treating a patient like that. I hope this helps someone before they find themselves or their loved one in the position that I’ve been in. I know this with 100% certainty. As much as I love the therapy staff and some of the other staff, should something (God forbid) happen that require myself or a loved one to require a rehab stay, it will NOT be Knoxville rehab!

Experiencia negativa: My wife was here for a bit and we had a good experience everywhere except the cafateria the cook was very rude and dismissive to me. I went down there a few times for different things and she was very rude and just plain disrespectful to me on more than one occasion and I'm not sure what the problem is but she seems like she doesn't like dealing with people. Thankfully my wife was discharged yesterday but as for the cook action needs to be taken to handle how rude she is with others.

Experiencia negativa: If you're considering this rehab hospital for a loved one, I strongly urge you to vet into some other options prior. Our experience was deeply disappointing and distressing. Communication was virtually nonexistent! My loved one was scheduled for therapy without any notice to them or even the nursing staff. The therapists arrived - during my loved one's lunch and while they were eating - and stated they would have to mark them as refusal if they did not stop eating and participate because that was the only time that they could fit them in. Keep in mind - NO ONE knew that therapy was scheduled! This kind of pressure was unacceptable. Safety was also a major concern! My loved one suffered an unwitnessed fall and despite multiple phone calls for clarity regarding their fall, no one returned my inquires. I only received information after showing up in person to retrieve their belongings because they were transferred to a local hospital. Their cell phone was stolen while they were at the local hospital! When this was addressed all that was stated was that they could not indicate for certain that their facility lost it. I shared that I physically saw it 3hrs before my loved one was transported and it was there. The management member I spoke with pretty much stating to me in so many words "oh well - that's your problem and not ours"! She made certain to let me know that they will not be replacing the cellphone regardless of nothing being communicated to us or signed regarding lost or stolen devices not being replaced. My loved ones electronics were mishandled! Staff placed my loved one's CPAP machine - still full of water - in the exact same bag as their other electronic devices. THEN tossed everything upside down into a closet! Water leaked over those devices and the closet floor! The response? A brief apology and again - no offer to help or accountability. The lack of empathy and respect was staggering! The way they handled my loved one and their belongings was awful and I am tearing up as I am writing this review. My loved one's belongings were literally thrown on the floor, and we were left with more questions than answers. Again - PLEASE pause before entrusting this facility with someone you care about or their belongings. The risks that my loved one and family endured were physical, emotional, and personal and those risks are simply too high!

Experiencia fantástica: Highly Recommended Accommodations: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Staff Attentiveness: 5/5 Physical and Occupational Therapy Services: 5/5 Friendliness of Staff: 5/5 Medical Care: 5/5 Food: 4/5 This modern facility is conveniently located near Dowell Springs. This rehabilitation hospital is situated on a beautifully landscaped lot. Every patient room is private, so there is no upcharge for this service. The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean. Large picture windows in patients’ rooms overlook the manicured property. Upon arrival, each patient receives a wash basin replete with all necessary toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Patient bathrooms are equipped with all the safety amenities one would expect at a rehabilitation hospital, but with appointments that rival a fine hotel. Wall tiles were attractive, clean, and fresh – no mold or mildew anywhere. As a patient, one can expect daily showers. Occupational therapy and physical therapy schedules are posted daily. My family member received these services 3 times daily on weekdays and 1 day over the weekend (contrast that with another facility which only offered showers twice a week and no OT or PT services on weekends). My family member received approximately 2 ½ times more OT and PT services daily at Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital than she did at another local facility. The CNAs and RNs were friendly and attentive. Call bells were answered promptly. Hospital food is hospital food; it was sufficient – no better or worse than the other facility she recently visited. Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital went above and beyond the surprise the patient with a slice of birthday cake on her special day. They even allowed us to use a day room for a private family celebration (with advance arrangement). I encourage anyone who is in need of rehabilitation services to consider Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital first. They are more than happy to give prospective patients and their families a personal guided tour of the facilities. We also learned that for Medicare patients, some facilities qualify as “hospitalization stays” while others qualify as “skilled nursing care.” These distinctions may result in daily co-payments, which may or may not be covered by secondary insurance. This is a good question to ask before choosing a rehabilitation facility. Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital is our first choice for rehabilitation services.

Experiencia positiva: The upbeat, highly trained, competent and caring staff from PT's and OTs to nursing staff (CNA's to NP's), to the overseeing case manager and physician--EACH offered excellent assistance in my rehab from surgery. A 4-star facility. Why only 4 Stars? The food. Typical hospital food could be tweaked with more fresh fruits and vegetables. Yep--that's it. More fresh fruits and veggies would find this near perfection. One notable difference in this facility from others is the continuity from one shift to the next. Whoever coordinates info exchange and followup is doing a great job.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had the pleasure to stay here 3 times from having a stroke to my recent stay with a compleat reverse shoulder surgery. Each time the experience was top of the line. From the second you enter the hospital the team of highly skilled Nurses , CNAs, and physical and occupational Therapists are there to see to your every need to make a full recovery and get you back to daily living. Everyone cares about your health and safety. That's why Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital is always going to my 1st choice when the news arrives for more therapy. I won’t use their names For privacy purposes, but her PT, OT, SLP, Nurse, Doctors, and case workers were ALL comforting, kind, patient, skilled, and balanced their being personable with great professionalism. I highly recommend this facility to provide care for your loved one and peace of mind for you.

Experiencia fantástica: Patsy Roy Pauley: I spent 2 weeks at the Knoxville Rehab Hospital. The nurses and staff were great. They all waited on me hand and foot and were friendly and thoughtful. The rehab area was really good. I had two of the best physical therapist I’ve ever had. Trey and Zach were wonderful! They were thoughtful and understood what I was going through, they were great with the therapy. They would ask me if I could do so & so and I’d say if you think I can, I can. They had me doing things I never thought I’d ever do. I did great and they were the best. I miss seeing them.

I had diarrhea 3 days and they took care of it themselves. I was embarrassed at first but the said they do it a lot and I felt more at ease. They’re great Physical Therapist.

Experiencia fantástica: After my stroke I chose to go to Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital and could not have made a better choice. The facility was comfortable and easy to relax in and the patient care teams were excellent. The therapy facilities were top notch and had so much equipment to aid in both physical and occupational therapy. I cannot say enough about the PT and OT therapist, they were always positive and supportive. I had a team assigned to me but all the therapist there worked together to encourage all patients. Overall, my experience was incredible in every aspect of my treatment and would not just recommend but highly encourage someone to use Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience at KRH was exceptional. I was admitted February 25th 2025. The room was clean, had large bathroom with a shower perfectly setup for patients with any disability, as far as I know. My room had a large window with a nice view of the forest. They have a great area outside,where I sat and enjoyed the afternoon sun, plus there are areas of AstroTurf for therapy. The rehab there was top notch. I entered with two broken clavicles, and am now free of all precautions for both. I attribute that to the occupational and physical therapy I received at KRH, plus the daily routines of eating, etc. The nurses, CNAs and other staff made me feel secure in the care I needed. I want to especially thank my therapists Kristen, Malea, Megan, Jenna, Greg, Tate, and Austin.

Experiencia positiva: For the most part, I enjoyed my 17 day stay at Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital. I would recommend this facility for the experience, skill set and recovery for any necessary treatment. I did have a negative occurrence with my personal belongings , knowingly or unknowingly, removed from my room that I'm hoping for a good outcome. Regardless of those 2 individuals involved, I will not hold that against this establishment. I went from UT hospital directly to KRH only knowing the facility offered 3hrs of OT/PT 5xs weekly. The rest I learned as I went and though it was tough, I loved it. The only suggestion I would bring up is better time management when scheduled pain meds are involved with shift changes. If patients are on scheduled meds, have those addressed first so it'll be closer to the scheduled vs later. There were multiple times I received pain meds 1.5 hrs after they were due because of shift changes. That can cause negative results and harder to get ahold of the pain. Special thanks to PT Patrick, Brei, Tate, Donta the many other PT & OT that worked & pushed me daily. Also, thanks to Sophie, Pamela, Vicki , Fatima, doctors who checked on me daily, cleaning crew, RNAs (I cannot remember them all) and my CNAs who encouraged me, offered suggestions, brought snacks/drinks, laughed with me, talked me through my crying moments to come out 17 days later stronger with a 12lb weight gain (wanted).

Food house keeping nurses CNA,s therapist and other professionals . I was covered from a to z and everything in between. I am really going to miss these wonderful professionals. As I leave crying it is from a heavy heart and enlightenment from love trust and commitment of these wonderful people.

I was expecting a nursing home environment ~ to my surprise I found myself in a lovely room with private bathroom. I cannot say enough about the care I received from all the nurses & rehabilitation staff. I felt it was a privilege to be able to stay there to start my road to recovery! This facility deserves the highest recognition!

Experiencia fantástica: My time with Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital was tough for me in the beginning. I had some blood pressure issues as well diabetic ones. I just wanted to stay in bed. The nurses were great to me. They were very professional. The therapist encouraged me along the way. By the first week I started to make progress. Needless to say I was in a much better mind set. I start feeling that I wanted to stay longer. I bonded with the staff. I honestly felt I needed another week of therapy. I learned a lot from my therapist. I am recommending to go there if you are in need of therapy. I feel that I made friends for life. Thank you, James Berry

Experiencia fantástica: Went over to visit with my dad today and the staff is treating him amazing. Today his nurse, Kayla, and CNA, Steve, have been wonderful. Steve has gone above and beyond to help my dad in any way that he can. Great people.

Experiencia positiva: The hospital facilities are new, and the nursing and therapy staff seemed knowledgeable and responsive to their patients. However, the discharge process was chaotic and placed unexpected medical responsibilities on an untrained caregiver, who was instructed to go home and begin doing 4 blood tests and up to 5 injections each day! No written instructions were provided for these procedures, nor had they been discussed during the "family training day" established to prepare the caregiver for continuing rehab at home. The discharge medication list provided was incomplete, as were the prescriptions sent to the pharmacy. This was disappointing and frustrating and seemingly caught the Saturday staff unprepared, as well. Fortunately, the patient is surviving the home care. The therapists did provide handouts and references for continuing that work.

Experiencia fantástica: I was at Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital for 11 days receiving both OT and PT. My experience was nothing short of first class. I was always treated with respect and care by all the therapists and the nursing staff. The therapist do a great job at assessing where you're at, what your goals are and then creating a plan to get you there. Everyone did a great job every day making sure we got the most of each day and also finding a way to make the stay enjoyable. I hope that I'm never in a position to need therapy again but if I am, I would not hesitate at all to go back here. I highly recommend Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband is currently receiving physical, occupational and speech therapy after having a stroke. The therapists are great. The staff works very hard for the patients, which I imagine can be hard sometimes because they are dealing with people who are going through a lot and some may have a lot of hard work ahead of them. Saying thank you just doesn't seem like enough for everyone's hard work, but thank you for taking such good care of the most important person in my life!!

All of the staff worked hard to see that I succeed in my rehabilitation and was very supportive. I wish I could have stayed there longer because the next facility that I was sent to isn’t much of a rehab center!!! Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend Knoxville Therapy Hospital. The therapists, nurses, doctors and staff were all so friendly and uplifting. The gym has a real car, a full bathroom , full kitchen; to help you manage tasks in these rooms when you get home . The exercise program is thorough and doing it in a huge gym with all picture windows and gardens to view made it enjoyable. I felt like I was in a spa. The food was good, the rooms complete with bathroom/Shower were super large with a bay window looking out ! The 8 days I spent there has given me an excellent base to continue to full recovery. I am indebted to every person there that I interacted with. Thank you for taking such good care of me and sending me off in great shape.

Experiencia negativa: They could not handle my wife's rehab. Always out of supplies and couldn't even find a slide board. Almost dropped her on day one. Transferred her to UT without a bed and still waiting for one in the ER. Place is a joke. Spend some money on tools for your nurses who most were great. Just bad management. That's just the beginning . You already have my information.

Experiencia fantástica: It was a great place for rehab which I really needed as a BKA. Emma was my PT, and she is just awesome she is very thoughtful and caring. She is a beast . Tate was one of my OT's he was great too. What I'm trying to say it was an amazing experience you can't go wrong. The DR', Nurses and Cna's where great no complaints at all.

Food was excellent& nurses & support staff were helpful & pleasant. This place is much better than Patricia Neal I can say, because I was there before. No comparison!!! I would recommend it to anyone with the need. 5 star rating.

Experiencia positiva: The staff here are the best. They are there when you need them and patient with each and everyone, no matter the case. I was there for 11 days for a stroke that affected my left side and they were fabulous. Always a smile on their faces and they get to be like family to you. The therapy was hard at first but they help you with what you need to accomplish your goal. Thank you to Sydney and Emily for being there for me everyday. You guys are the best. Everyone here is good in my book. If you ever need to go to a rehabilitation hospital for a stroke I would recommend this hospital 100% because they will take care of you like you are supposed to be taken care of. Janice

Experiencia fantástica: Dr's & staff were exceptional. My mother Barbara is doing 10x better than before. I attribute Tyler, Hannah, and Maddie to her overall success rate. Experiencia fantástica: I have a lot to say about Knox Rehab! I had to spend a week there because of a stroke. If you ever need a Rehab facility you should choose this one. First the therapists, Emma and Austin are fantastic. They know what you need to get home on your own. Nurses, Courtney and Christine are the most capable and caring people who want to be a help to anyone in need. CNA's Fatima and Izzy both are like sunshine walking into your room. The rooms are large and the food is very good. The only problem is the bed is painful. Overall I am thankful that Knox Rehab was there when I needed it.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent facility. Very caring nurses, cans, technicians, staff. Professional and skilled. All attentive and cheerful when they came to see about you. Food was good. I made great improvement there. 10 days there is equivalent to 30 days somewhere else.

Positive atmosphere that stimulates healing. Facility is designed just for rehabilitation patients. You are encouraged every step in the process. I was cared for by the "peach" team. Experiencia fantástica: Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital in Knoxville, TN and I meant for the first time almost a Year ago. I am not sure that KRH was ready for a 7 foot man, but I was there. UT Hospital moved me there for Rehabilitation in Late December of 2022. I heard from the Nursing Staff at UT Hospital that they are difficult on their patients. Initially, they were correct but I was having a hard time myself. I have a Life altering event happen and I was having a Hard time accepting my forever fate. The staff at Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital were hard on me but I need that swift kick in the pants to get me moving on the right path to my recovery. Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital gave me the tools to get me going the right direction. I remember speaking with the Head of Physical Therapy on many occasions about what was expected of me on the Physical and Occupational Therapy stand points, the amount of work that I will need to commit to, to graduate their program successfully and more toward Outpatient Therapy. The Head of Physical Therapy assigned me to 2 different Therapists to help me through my journey. Both of these guys basically told me to be in my Private Patient room as little as possible except to sleep and eat. 1 of the Therapist had me doing laps in the wheelchair through the halls (with the option of using the parking lot if I wanted too.) They kicked my butt however, it needed it. I have progress more on my own and with Outpatient but Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital got me started. Thank you.

Experiencia negativa: The physical and occupational therapists were amazing but this hospital doesn’t provide those services on Sunday, which was a wasted day. The food was pretty bad and we weren’t able to pick from a menu like the website advertised. And we had a hard time checking out early even after meeting all PT and OT goals.

Experiencia positiva: The PT, OT, and Speech therapists were beyond extraordinary! They were challenging, exhausting, and fun! The nurses and doctors were, for the most part very good, also. My concern was not being informed about what was going on. My husband has a very badly bruised knee, which happened while in the hospital, but we could never find out how it happened. He had an X-ray and discovered he had a bone spur. His hip was also X-rayed. He had many chest X-rays. He also had a terrible cough and pneumonia, which we didn’t know about. He was given ceretazine (Zertec ) for the cough. He had been taken off that at Morning Point because of side effects of drowsiness, light headed, and dizziness. We weren’t told this had been added. This could maybe explain why he delirious for about a week. Back at Morning Point, he was quickly taken off this, and improved in a day. Ceretazine has been added to his list of allergies. The doctors and administrators were kind and caring. My main concern was that we were not informed well enough. Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: Knoxville Rehab Hospital gets an AAA+++! The facility is super clean and laid out great. The gym is downstairs with all the equipment, tools, machines and simulations needed to get anyone ready to move on to their normal tasks and to be able to continue as an out-patient. I can’t say enough about how wonderful everyone is. All the therapists are great but Megan and Tori are tops. Should you need inpatient rehab, this should be your one and only place to go!

Experiencia fantástica: They are really great at this rehab hospital and they have very nice rooms and beds. The Theapyists are very thourough and work really hard to improve your problem. Ive been to 3 rehab centers and they dont compare. Oh and last thing, they got a talented OT that plays the guitar and sing and she came to my room and played and sang for me. She needs to do that more. All were fantastic, one of the girls made a fishing game for working on balance and it was very creative and awesome. You wont be disapointed. They have a very good lady doctor that goes over and beyond. Much much improvement to my condition.

Experiencia fantástica: KRH is a great place for rehabilitation. The facility is clean and has a great staff. The therapist are both professional and knowledgeable. You know you have had a great therapy session when you are done. I was able to leave the facility 2 days sooner than expected. Special thanks to Kristin, Megan, Wanli, Savana, and Nicole. The nurses and cnas responded quickly to call lights and the need of each patient. I can't say enough good about this place.
