My lower back pain is exponentially better and my thoracic pain has been reduced tremendously. I have degenerative issues, so it is great to have a maintenance plan for home to keep my progress and be able to do my daily activities without pain. I would highly recommend East TN Spine and Sport in Fountain City. It has been very effective for my back issues!

My rotator cuff was partially torn in a car accident, and I could barely move my left arm. Dr Holt suggested I start with therapy, but I was reluctant because I thought it was a waste of time. However, Erin has been working with me twice a week and has helped make a big difference in my range of motion and strength. I highly recommend the staff at the Fountain City location. Damon has been great to work with after injuring my shoulder and dealing with chronic neck issues and got me to a point where my pain is greatly reduced and I feel confident to continue the exercises at home. Highly recommend East Tennessee Spine & Sport. I have been to many other PT clinics in years past and this one exceeded all others!

Everyone is friendly and welcoming, they talk with you and really listen. I absolutely love the staff here!!! When I first started there I could barely walk (osteoarthritis in both knees) and had gotten to where I could really only move on my own every other day. I was terrified that I would wind up needed knee replacements. That’s what my future looked like if physical therapy didn’t work. I couldn’t sit, stand, bend my legs everything hurt. Now though I’m back at work full time. I walk like it’s never been an issue and my pain is nonexistent now! I HIGHLY recommend you going here if you ever need physical therapy! While I hope to never need it again, if I do this would be where I would go! As a side note they take appointments as late as 6 PM which was huge bonus for me as I it allowed me to get a full day of work in without having to leave early!

Experiencia fantástica: I have used East Tennessee Spine and Sport on North Broadway for two stints of Physical Therapy and I have no desire to go anywhere else for PT. They are amazing. I've worked primarily with Damon, Reed, Casey, Bill, Kristine, Meredith and Becca. The staff and physical therapists are highly professional, kind, and friendly. I was gently pushed to achieve my best possible outcomes, and the expectation was that I would do really well. As a consequence, I have had very good results and I'm very happy with my mobility and strength. The atmosphere at ETSS is amazing to me. This is a business where many clients are in pain and are being challenged to do exercises that are often very difficult and painful. It's obvious that the folks at ETSS care about their clients and each other, which makes for a caring and relaxed atmosphere. They also welcomed my friend who brought me and tried to make sure she was comfortable while she waited for me. I often found myself smiling, laughing and joking, despite being in pain for much of the time I was there. I looked forward to going to ETSS and to seeing my friends, and I look forward to doing the rehab for my next total knee replacement with my friends at East Tennessee Spine and Sport.

Rarely do I find any medical establishment where I can truly say that every single person involved in my care was excellent! The owner and administrative support are professional and kind. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. My PT, Taylor, was very competent in the treatment she prescribed. Spending time with me each visit, she was able to monitor my progress. She was professional, experienced, and encouraging. She loves what she does, and it’s very apparent that she strives for excellence. I am now back to my regular activities, and I cannot thank Spine & Sport enough for the excellent care they provided.

Experiencia fantástica: Outstanding facility with great staff. In particular, Kristine Bedell Mongan has been an incredibly effective therapist for my back and most recently for recovery from Foot surgery!

Experiencia fantástica: Spine & Sport is ABSOLUTELY where you need to go for any spinal PT needs!!! As a 28 years old athlete (primarily distance runner) I herniated a disc in my back that was accidentally exacerbated by chiropractors (we didn’t know the root cause of my pain was a bulging disc and chiropractic manipulation made it much worse). I ended up in the hospital with no feeling from my torso to my toes on the left side of my body which is how we discovered the disc herniation. From this point, being only 28, I wanted to do anything I could to avoid surgery but I also was not willing to accept I wouldn’t be able to run again (which at the time my neurosurgeon was telling me may not be possible without disc surgery). I was walking with an abnormal gait, still had numbness in my thigh and toes, and worst still had pain doing various activities—I was FAR from the elite running machine I was before the injury. Finally fed up with the“wait and see” method, I got a referral from my neuro and I went in to consult with Taylor at the North Knoxville location. Not only was Taylor extremely knowledgeable and listened to all my concerns, but she said to me “give this a shot and I think we can have you running and avoid surgery”—music to my ears. As much as I wish it was a magical recovery that instantly occurred, that’s just not how the body works—but as I worked with my PTA Erin (also incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful spirit-lifter!) I healed and improved little by little (and inevitably had some flare ups and set backs as is normal). The team at ETSS worked with my body every step of the way and kept me positive and mentally moving forward through all of it even at multiple points when I was so frustrated I almost did go through with surgery (thank god I didn’t!). I eventually improved to the point that I was running on the gravity-reduced treadmill at the clinic and even ran a 5k on it for the first time in about 5 months!!! Now, 6 months later I’M RUNNING AGAIN! And more importantly I do not have pain anymore! I can feel all the ways that the strengthening of my supporting structures that they set me up with exercises for has helped my spine support itself and while I still have to be careful and am certainly working back up to higher mileage—I AM RUNNING! This team listened to my goals and they got me there!! I cannot recommend them enough—they truly saved me from an invasive spine surgery at such a young age and I am forever grateful for their help and their support of my healing journey from an emotional standpoint as well. Being hurt isn’t fun and it isn’t easy to rehab, but this group set me up for success I don’t believe I could have otherwise achieved. 10/10 stars—if you’re fed up with a nagging injury give them a chance and see what they can do to help!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Kristine has really helped me with my neck and back issues. She has instructed me in proper alignment when doing exercises beneficial to my problem areas. It also benefits to have some muscle manipulation and massage to the areas afflicted because this is effective in loosening up before exercises. I found ETSS by chance and I can say it has made a world of difference for me!

I did three sessions of dry needling and learned some new stretching exercises and I literally feel better than I have in years! I do my neck exercises daily and they really work. Experiencia fantástica: I tore my right ACL two years ago playing soccer. I came to East Tennessee Spine and Sport for physical therapy after hearing great things about them from friends. Everyone that works there was so friendly and supportive of me during this hard time. They were extremely determined and compassionate about helping me recover and reach my goal to play soccer again. After about 7 months of therapy I returned to playing soccer! I continued playing soccer, and I was better than I ever had been before, but I unfortunately tore my left ACL in the spring this year playing soccer. This was an extremely difficult time for me, but I knew that I was going to attend therapy again with Spine and Sport and they would help me through this difficult chapter of life for the second time. I didn't have a second thought about where I would attend therapy. Damon is the main therapist I saw throughout both time periods I was in therapy. He is the most friendly, and affectionate person! He never fails to make me feel like he truly cares about me. He is so supportive and determined to help me succeed. I couldn't have asked for a better therapist. I am so thankful for team at Spine and Sport. They helped me get back to the thing I loved the most. Spine and Sport is truly the best in Knoxville.

Before choosing this place to complete my 12 weeks of physical therapy, I called around to see if I could request working with women only. This was the first company that told me it would be no issue and they’d be happy to make it happen. Weeks later I was meeting Taylor who was my main PT; she was not only extremely helpful and knowledgeable but personable too, which made our visits something I looked forward to and will miss in the future. Every single time I walked in someone greeted me by name or a smile, or both. It is a very professional environment, but with an easy-going vibe. They serve all ages and stages. There is a genuiness to all who work there. Big shoutout to Taylor and Damon who primarily supervised my care, but I do not think anyone would be unhappy with any of the friendly, knowledgeable staff. They work as a team and certainly made me feel welcome every time I came in. I highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had the best time at East TN Spine and Sport in Fountain City, TN! The staff was incredible, and my therapy couldn’t have been any better! I just finished my last pt sesh today, and I’m very sad to leave this wonderful place. The front desk is phenomenal, especially Becca and Meredith and Casey! They make this place run, and without their help, this place would burn to the ground. Bill, the owner, treated me like his own member of his family, while taking care of me during my therapy. I really appreciate my personal trainer Damon for also helping me throughout this tough journey. Thank you again! 1000/10! I will miss this place for sure!

Experiencia fantástica: I was very pleased with the center. I had total knee replacement. With their supervision and support I was able to graduate from therapy in 5 weeks.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the best experience after my knee replacement surgery. I was really dreading it before I went but soon realized how great place this is. Damon was my main therapist and he was great. Very patient and easy to understand the exercises I was to do. Highly recommend him and this place for all types of therapy.
