Experiencia negativa: Such a terrible experience. Every time I came to visit my grandfather, he was soiled in his urine. It seemed like the only time they changed or attended him was when I addressed it. It was so frustrating to see him in that situation. My grandfather would also tell me that the night staff was worse and would barely see any nurses. It’s supposed to be 24 hour nursing care but at night, there was zero help. I voiced my concerns to the administrator multiple times and nothing would ever get resolved. I would not recommend anyone bringing their loved one here. It’s terrible.

Experiencia negativa: My children’s father has been placed here and was left in a chair without any support and was found face down with cut on his face ! he has a shunt in his head. we were visiting and rang for a nurse to help him go to the bathroom and took 30 minutes to respond!!! they have given us 3 different stories on what happened

Experiencia fantástica: It was three other facilities to choose from, mirage, antelope valley care center and Desert canyon… I toured at all locations and the other locations people were yelling and nurses were not attending to anyone and just letting them yell. The buildings were nasty and smelled and I would not let any of my family ever stay at any of those places, I’m so happy I chose Ellison John… the staff is amazing, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the therapy my dad received got him back on his feet. I couldn’t say enough great things about this place. Highly recommended.

It's not easy working with older folks who are set in their ways, but they never gave up on her. They really took the time to make her feel comfortable, encouraged her when she felt frustrated, and made sure she had everything she needed to get better. You can tell they actually care about the people they're helping. I'm super grateful for the care and effort they put into her recovery.

One of those calls was from Crystal at Ellison John. Crystal's positive attitude and genuine concern for the care of my mother was obvious from the start. I toured Ellison John first and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the care center and the professionalism of the staff - especially with Crystal and the Intake Administrator. There was no need to look any further as it was obvious the staff here are above reproach. Experiencia negativa: Yesterday the medicine nurse just left me to die, I have a severe allergy called angeoedema which makes my throat, tongue, lips, chest, tummy, hand and feet swell up and requires a Benadryl and Epi shot immediately, well it happened last night again and my CNA went to tell her and she told her I had to wait until she's done with giving her other 4 patients medication first.. she didn't come in until 3 hours later.. luckily I was still alive, but she had the nerve to lie to me and say all these other patients had to go on an ambulance.. that's not what she told my CNA and she always says that! Today I've been passing my call button to get some I've and water due the past 3 hours and the nurses keep coming in on the other side of the curtain and turning off my light without checking what I need, I can see the shadow walk across and push the button!! I can't even call the front desk to have my nurse paged for help because they blocked my number! So I'm dying if thirst here.. again. It's supposed to be my shower day and nobody will tell me what time they are going to shower me and I usually get 3 showers per week but they haven't showered me in 7 days!! Don't bring your lived ones here!! They don't care about anyone but themselves!!

We toured several places, but by far, The Ellison John Transitional Care Center stood out the most. From the moment we walked in, the receptionist was welcoming and had great customer service. The facility itself was very clean and well-maintained. During our tour, we got to see the physical therapy room in action, with therapists actively working with the residents. It was really great to see that level of care and engagement—it was clear that the staff truly cares about their residents’ progress and well-being. Although we ultimately decided to care for my grandmother at home since we live about an hour away from the Antelope Valley, if we were staying in the area, The Ellison John would have been our first choice. My family was really impressed with everything we saw, and we highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for skilled nursing care in the area.

I got to see the staff, their families, and the residents all having a great time together. The whole place had a positive vibe. Experiencia fantástica: The medical field isnt an easy field and especially after covid everyone is going through something and we should all have compassion and empathy. Our experience at Ellison was great! My grandma stayed at ellison john after dicharge from av hospital. She was very weak and not eating and on oxygen. So grateful for the nurses,respiratory cna and physical therapy and all staff that took care of her. They made sure she was eating and made her more comfortable and helped her get stronger and home recovered. They also made sure to send us home with home care and equipment needed. Beyond happy with our experience at ellison John.

Experiencia positiva: The employees/nurses are great, so friendly. Where they drop the ball at is communication, or lack thereof of. They had put me in a room with someone who had Covid, even though they test everyone who comes in. The food and their choices are bland and cold.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve had both of my parents and grandfather stay there just before two of those family members died. On the outside, I’m sure the place looks great. Once you’re in as a “client” then that’s where the company’s greed locks you in or you die. One example: one of my parents were there for “transitioning” but caught covid, which led to low blood pressure resulting in a two day hospital stay. The result was, losing a bed at the facility, then placed in the “Covid wing” being neglected at Ellison John and then to top it off was charged $800 by the facility for missing the two days because of the hospital stay. Ellison John is a joke along with our healthcare system for our older people.

Experiencia negativa: My father was brought to this place after having a stroke for recovery I looked them up and saw that they had good reviews so I trusted them to take care of my father but big mistake on taking him there his was verbally being abused by the nurses and not being taking care of him he would asked for water at night time and they will tell him to shut up all this information was confirmed by his roommate told us about the bad care he was receiving not only that but I was there one's myself so witness that the call light don't get responded with ina mather of time one tti was there the call light took 4 hours for someone to come check on what my father needed. Please avoid this place at all cost for the sake of your love one's.

It may look nice but apparently the staff and facility are so dirty that my mom has tested positive for MRSA AND CANDIDA AURIS!!! She was admitted into the icu do the co2 levels in her blood being extremely high!!!! I was told by the icu doctor if I would have waited my mom would have died!!!!! This facility should be ashamed of themselves!!! Their own front desk workers have even stated that they would never put their family member in this facility and they work there!!! If that doesn’t speak volumes!!!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: they allow a nurse named Juanita to continue to work here after and with me after I have had to put several complaints about her in to the supervisors. She is the rudest nurse I've ever met. When I press my call button she comes in yelling "what do you want" and when I ask her for assistance, literally every time, she complains she's too busy to be helping me because she has so many other patients to help. So today I told her I don't want to hear about her other patients and not to bring them up again. So then just about 20 minutes ago she was changing me and when she was done I asked her to put on my deoderant and she went off on me that she doesn't have time (for a 2 second task, really?) because she has to go deal with a patient that's dying and if they die it will be my fault because I didn't let her go immediately. ummmmmmm if a patient is dying they would call 911 with an ambulance, not her. not only that but when she's feeding me she is so impatient, while I'm still chewing she is already trying to shove the spoon with the next bite into my mouth, and when I say hold on she rolls her eyes.. so I told her I was gonna put in a complaint about her with the supervisor and she said "go ahead they don't believe anything you say anyways" wow....... this is the kind of care Ellison John allows for their patients Update: now another day at this horrible place, I haven't had my brief changed since 9 am this morning and it's now past 8 pm!!!!! all the pads and sheets under me are completely soaked!!!!!!!!! and I've had pushed my call button at 6:30 pm trying to find out where my dinner was because I''m so hungry and I usually get fed at 6 pm and the nurse barely came in at 8:20 pm and when I asked her where my dinner was and she said "oh, nobody brought you dinner?" I was like noooooooooooooooooooo! freaking been crying for hours now!!!!!!! It takes hours for these nurses to answer the call light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this facility needs to be shut down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also they are no longer using wipes to clean us in briefs anymore, instead they are using washcloths which is unbearable for me because I'm allergic to the laundry soap they use which has left my are beyond irritated and forget getting diaper rash cream during overnight changes because they lock the cream up as I was advised! They served me my lunch using one of the washcloths on my chest and it had someone's pubic hair stuck to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made them serve it on a napkin instead. So hopefully std's aren't being spread around in here!!! We now have to provide our own wipes, what is my monthly payments paying for The nurse tonight is so rude,every time I ask her to help me with something she rolls her eyes at me and I asked her to stop doing that and she told me not to look at her then.... seriously?? This is the kind of treatment you get here.

Place are gorgeous and service to their patients are exceptional! Experiencia negativa: Don’t send your love ones here my mother in law could walk and feed herself when she want in there. Now she cannot do anything for her self and they are sending her home. She could not press the button for help the lady in the next bed had to do it but know One came for over an hour you never see any one. She could not feed herself so she did not eat (but put on weight)they said. You had to go look for someone but never got a straight answer the car park was full of staff cars but could never find any one no help at all stay clear of this place

Experiencia negativa: Nice facility but 90 percent of the staff sucks most of them just ignore you and tell you what you wanna hear. Day shift always blames night shift and night shift always blames days. No one takes responsibility. And don’t bother with administration their not there for you either.

Experiencia positiva: My husband was in Ellison John Transitional care for 2 months. The front desk staff is very nice & helping. The food is good. The Therapy ladies we encountered we good & helpful but you have to know that you don't get a lot of therapy but just around 30 minute 5 days a week. We wish there was more therapy than what the industry set per person. Sometimes there is no good follow up in communication between patient & staff with that there is waiting moments because the right person did not get their message relayed to them. This leaves frustrated patients. I hope that pati9are encouraged to get out of bed and sit on a chair or wheelchair more than sitting in the bed because that gets patients weaker by the day & makes them lose muscles too. All the room staff are excellent workers. We will miss them. Finally it's so sad that we have to wear masks because I will never be able to fully see the faces of these dedicated & hard working staff. This facility is very clean too. I hope I covered all information!

One of the nurses didn't give my nana her blood tinners and now my nana has blood clots one in her lung that's causing my nana's heart to be evaluated. They don't care the nurses there do not care and do not take thier profession seriously and have no compassion for the elderly and now my nana is back in the hospital thanks to this place. I would definitely stay away from this place and find somewhere else. She was doing well prior to this.

Experiencia fantástica: Ellison John is a good place to be if your loved ones have to be in rehab. I have to speak on one person that was outstanding!!! My friend’s CNA was Diana Diaz! What a Jewel! She treated my friend and his roommate with care, respect and integrity. What a Jem! I have to boast like this because I found a few of the people there kind of without empathy or compassion, much less love. I sure hope she’s their caregiver all while they have to be there. And lastly may I ask that when any CNA’s want to talk about patients, please make sure that you know the people who you’re talking about don’t understand you. Better yet, don’t talk in other languages in front of the patients while caring for them. Experiencia negativa: Bedside manner is horrible. They don't care about their patients. Leave there patients in messed diapers all night. Loses patients belongings. Does not issue medications on time. Patients turn the call light and and it takes 2 hours for a nurse to come in. I would give 0 stars if I could. I HAD TO PULL MY MOTHERE OUT RIGHT AWAY AFTER 1 WEEK. She already was getting bed sores. And the put her into a mental breakdown. I have filed a complaint.

Experiencia negativa: We had our mother stay at Ellison John for almost a month and it was very bad service even after talking to the social worker Cecilia that was in charge if we had any concern or complains she would be the person we needed to talk to I had to talk to her twice about nurses not coming to assist mom and they will leave her more then one hour pop or urine when mom will buzz them they will take so many hour to go to her or sometimes they wouldn’t even go to check up in her after buzzing them for assistance and it wasn’t even only mom I was witness to other people as well calling out for help and place will smell so awful there like pop and urine it made it so hard to even go visit mom bcuz smell inside place was so awful I hope they do make changes feel sorry for the people that don’t have no one to speak for them

Experiencia negativa: While my person was in this facility (for 9 days), at no time over the course of her stay was she seen by a physician and I was repeatedly told that the doctor does not talk to family, he only talks with nurses. I could not get the doctor or the director of medicine to call me, even after repeated requests. I was told the director of medicine only "occasionally" comes to the facility and when I asked what that meant, I was told, "oh, you know, sometimes weekly, bi-weekly or monthly he comes, but he isn't here every day." And I had nurses tell me that in the entire time they've worked there they had never seen that doctor. Do NOT send your loved one here. While it's a pretty facility, the incompetence and negligence of care is astounding.

Experiencia negativa: I found that a lot of the people there cared but it didn't seem very organized or maybe consistent when I asked questions. They would say they'd.check & get back to me but rarely did. They had also not wanted me to go to the bathroom without assistance but didn't answer my buzzer in a timely manner or possibly not at all. I'm still waiting to hear if I had a TB test or not when admitted & the group home I went to was requesting that info. It also took a long time to get the pain meds that I've been taking for a very long time & it seemed like I wasn't getting things like my inhalers on a regular basis. So to sum it up there was good & bad which I guess is just the way life goes but I did expect a little more. Hope this info helps.

Experiencia positiva: It is a struggle to get the team to talk together- no one seems to be leading. Plan of care meetings are mostly pointless since there doesn’t seem to be a plan. It is clean and folks are nice

Experiencia negativa: The nurse manager MJ is horrible with patients and staff. She is rude, horrible management skills and expects the family to assist the CNA. It has been a horrible experience with admission. This place is a liability due to unsafe work practices. I will be reporting the faculty to director, ombudsman and California Department of Public Health. Stay away from this place.

I highly recommend The Ellison John to anyone looking for sub-acute rehab or long-term care in Lancaster.

Experiencia fantástica: Some of the nursing are caring and helpful. Some need Prayer. The CNA need training and there attitudes are very rude. That's why you have to visit your Love One everyday. Cause if you don't. They will not care neither.

Experiencia negativa: Oh my God...if you only knew the hell this REALLY is. I was forced to sit in poop filled diapers for over 2 hours 2 days in a row. I was so desperate I even called the police. They over medicated me...morphine 3 x day, random percocet, oxycodone, advanced randomly given. The left me screaming for water for 2 hours. The abuse was unreal ignored, no team players 1 person do the iv when you need your diaper changed. It was hell to go AMA more harassment and whew filed my reports the attorney and dhs and never ever want to think that awful place again.

Experiencia fantástica: I think the entire staff was very sensitive caring for my mother, Pam Potter, who passed away last night October 8, 2023. They were accommodating to our family while allowing us to visit during her during the last few days at all hours. Nurse Stephanie was is a stand out as she seemed to be there 24/7 and always sensitive and caring toward our mother. I highly recommend Ellison for their high standards and excellent service. We also want to recognize Sheema Wise from meta-trade hospice, who is compassionate and caring through this difficult process

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent facility. Immaculately clean, very friendly staff, great culinary for residents, good size rooms, does not feel “institutional”. Wall decor, aesthetic of the community is very pleasant. We had my brother in there at the same time his wife was in a similar place in Van Nuys and the difference is very viable. The only negative thing I can say is that the parking lot is not adequate for the size of the place. Parking was usually a struggle.

Experiencia negativa: Nursing staff is limited, patients nurse lights were on for 1/2 hour or more on some of the rooms, patients had to yell out for nurses to come when their lights had been on, neglecting patients who needed help. The place is too large with limited nurses.

Experiencia negativa: Mother in law was admitted transferred from A.V. for recovery. She had a broken leg. They neglected her. They didn't clean her. She got infection in leg. They didn't bother call and have her transferred back to A.V. until way past point of no return. When A.V. did get her. She had a temp of 107 and her body already shutting down. Ye she died. The worst place ever.

Experiencia fantástica: I have only been one day, but in that short visit the staff members I interacted with were kind, the other patients (not the one I was visiting) seemed quite happy, the menu didn’t look EXTRAVAGANT but the food sounded appetizing, and I felt safe and comforted by the security measures that were put in place. I hope to add just more good things to this review. But inital impression is good.

Experiencia positiva: The nursing care was excellent for my elderly mother-in-law. Our problems were the lack of communication from the doctor. The social workers and case manager were very helpful, but even they were confused by some of the doctor's orders and statements.

Experiencia positiva: Pretty good experience. Place was clean, welcoming. My mom had to stay here a couple weeks after a leg injury. Physical therapist came everyday. CNA’s for spongebaths, bathroom needs, food delivery, blood pressure checks, etc. my mom has Kaiser insurance, so they even had a Kaiser doctor (who was awesome and spent 20-30 minutes each time I was there to answer all questions and go over treatment plans) on site who was there everyday checking on patients. Everyone there was kind and attentive and nurse’s call button was pretty quick response. Only complaint I heard was the food, which was not the best but I guess you can’t complain much, considering this isn’t a Michelin restaurant. Overall, I think this is a pleasant environment where you can trust the staff and have some assurance that your loved ones are attended to properly and get the care they need
