Athletico Physical Therapy - Okemos

Experiencia fantástica: My mother went to Athletico in Okemos for several weeks over the last year and had such a great experience with Steve. She received caring and personalized treatment there. Kiersten in the office was also extremely helpful in scheduling her. I live out of the country but I manage my mom's care. Steve and Kiersten were both a joy to work with in keeping me abreast of her progress and any issues. Would highly recommend this practice for the expertise, professionalism, and heartfelt care.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are looking for a great physical therapy location, this one is the best by far. I have been to a few around this area, but no one provides better service than Athletico in Okemos. The staff is very friendly and they are always willing to answer your questions. I had the privilege to work with Steve. He is a professional and very easy to talk to. I could see that Steve was genuinely happy for me when I started making progress. He gave me simple but effective workouts to do at home, and every visit to the office felt meaningful. If I ever have any more problems in the future, I will be coming back.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Steve Chmielewski quickly understood how important it was for me to get back to lifting and feeling good as I went about my daily activities. He also took an educational approach where he informed me on his current theory of what was causing pain in through out my movement patterns and implemented a test and re-test methodology. I went from not being able to walk up stairs without triggering pain to being able to sprint. Lastly he never once just treated the site of pain but also looked for weakness in the kinetic chain that could prevent a successful recovery. Try him out he’s experienced and professional.

Experiencia fantástica: I randomly chose Okemos Athletico PT as part of my recovery from a lower back injury. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Steve, my PT is excellent. He listened carefully to my issues and thoughtfully developed a dynamic program to help me reach my goals. The program worked and continues to do so. What impresses me most about Steve is his eagerness to discuss his methods and his clinical goals and to explain in understandable anatomical terms what he is intending to accomplish. I will recommend him to anyone I know who may need top notch physical therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I would highly recommend considering this location for your physical therapy treatment. Steve is such a thorough, patient, and dedicated therapist. He really spends time trying to find the right treatment and making sure the patient understands why that course of treatment is needed. He inquires of the patient what is/isn’t working well and focuses on target areas to heighten improvement. The entire staff is professional and extremely accommodating— I really appreciate the dedication that they show their patients and make sure they feel like they are not just a number walking in the door. Experiencia fantástica: I'm "singing praises" for Steve Chmielewski and the staff at the Okemos Athletico Physical Therapy Clinic. I have received treatment there after a painful injury from a fall. Steve is a thoughtful, knowledgeable and caring expert in physical therapy treatment. I walked away yesterday, pain free, after just a few weeks of therapy. I am a great-grandma who, after an awful fall, can walk, climb steps, ride my bike, workout, and play golf. "Thank you" doesn't seem enough to say. I'm so happy!

Experiencia fantástica: I came to Athletico just two days before the Chicago Marathon with some calf pain needing some quick relief. I saw Steve & he promptly assessed the issue & came up with a plan.. After some stretching to loosen things up he dry needled my leg which took only a few mins. He then used kinetic tape & taped the problem area & I was done.. Just 48 hrs after my session my calf & leg felt great. 26.2 miles later & No soreness or pain! Athletico def helped getting me to the start line feeling healthy. they will be my go to for any type of injuries that pop up. I highly recommended seeing them.

Experiencia fantástica: I have just finished physical therapy at Athletico in Jackson, MI with Steven Chmielewski and understand that he will soon be located at the Okemos location. I had a pinched sciatica nerve that was causing my 79 year old back and leg lots of pain. I was unable to sit or walk for any length of time. Today I am pain free and cannot say enough good things about my therapy with him! He knew just what exercises and stretches I needed and taught me well. I thank him from the bottom of my heart and strongly recommend him to anyone that has any sort of pain.

Experiencia fantástica: In April of 2022 I ruptured my Achilles Tendon and had a surgical repair followed by a lot of physical therapy that left me unable to perform daily tasks. In December 2022 I spoke with Dr Steven Chmielewski about the injury and where I was in the healing process and he encouraged me to come to his clinic and he knew he could help me. I went…and thank God every day that I did. Steve pushes me thru my fear of the injury as much as he is helping to heal the mess that was left before from the hips down. I felt a difference in my mobility within the first two weeks and my strength and confidence has been growing steadily since. Okemos is gaining an amazing physical therapist and as much as I will miss him, I am glad he will be helping so many other people conquer their goals and recover from whatever brought them to him!!!

Experiencia fantástica: From the moment I walked into my first appointment the staff made physical therapy an amazing experience for me. I have been to other clinics before but this clinic is better than any place I have been! The staff was welcoming and made sure as a high school athlete the exercises were as close to fun as possible with the circumstances of my injury! With the help of all of the staff at the clinic during my treatment period I was able to return back to the sport that I love, but to be comfortable in everyday life again! I recommend athletico okemos to everyone with an injury I come across, and will come back if I have any need in the future! I could not have made it back to this point without the help of athletico!
