Fantastic experience: Golden Bear therapy I think they're pretty good I went there yesterday I'm proud of myself I completed all of my physical therapy exercises the physical therapist want me to do and looking forward to next time they go run into a neighbor there too :-) it's actually a pretty good place for people that want to go to physical therapy that might have medical or Medicare or other you know so if you need to go to physical therapy try to get your doctor to go to therapy thank you and have a good day it's local and it's convenient because it's local and the staff is friendly have a good day bye-bye

Positive experience: My insurer had a very difficult time getting in contact with them, after submitting authorization several times via fax, multiple phone calls, no reply; she finally out sourced to another company to assist her. Not everyone receives that warm welcome in! The staff that is assigned to work with you that day is amazing, the ones that are not, even if you make eye contact will not even speak, actually they avoid even saying good morning or a simple hello. Being that I have been to several other locations, I have to say Hands down Ms. Rebecca at the Riverbank location is the best, all receptionist should be trained by, or observe her. I don't know what these ladies do at the front desk all day (Preoccupied with Personal time). Ms. Rebecca is on it! If you miss an appointment, she's calling you right away to reschedule, she's on top of how many sessions you are approved for and makes dang sure you're getting them all in. Although, they spray and wipe down the exercise tables, maybe more time could be spent wiping down more equipment after each client, rather than standing staring at their laptops . This facility doesn't offer cold or hot compress after stretching you out. Pain is Progress!

Fantastic experience: Went to Golden Bear for physical therapy after my full knee replacement on my right knee. Lauren was my therapist and Lauren was fantastic! We worked well together and my results were very satisfying. I recently returned to Golden Bear and Lauren as my physical therapist after a full knee replacement on the other knee. Physical therapy is going great. We work as a team and I think that my needs and wants are definitely factored into my PT program by Lauren. Superb professional staff. Negative experience: I've had some good experiences here but the last one I was very disappointed. I was suffering from a medical condition that wasn't allowing me to go to my visits regularly. But I was trying to make them as I could. On my last visit, I was in a lot of pain and one of the physical therapists there (who I'm not going to call out) that is usually kind to me was not very compassionate. He does some adjustments on me during my visits that give me instant relief and I asked at my last visit if he could do that for me again even though I wasn't well enough to do all the exercises. He seemed upset at me because I wasn't coming to my visits regularly. And he was being passive aggressive. He didn't do the adjustment for me and instead he had one of his students try to do the adjustment on me who had no idea what he was doing. The situation was so awkward and weird. I left the place in pain and really depressed. If all this physical therapist had to do was a tiny maneuver to help someone in pain and make their day a little bit better, why not? Have some compassion. After this, I don't think I would return here. I've lost my respect for this place.

Negative experience: This review is for the billing department. I overpaid on our account, I've been trying to get the refund since July. I've spoke to two different individuals in the billing department, sent messages via the patient portal, and recently to the "info" email address. While the therapists and front office staff were fantastic, I can't say the same about their accounting department. I suggest you don't pay anything (including co-pays) until you receive your EOB because getting any credit due to you will probably end up being sent to State Controller's Unclaimed Property even when one has claimed their property.

Fantastic experience: Love the staff at Golden Bear, always cheerful, considerate and more than competent. My left leg was crushed in a motorcycle accident two years ago and five surgeries later I am now getting my strength, balance and mobility back, step by step with the therapists at Golden Bear.

Positive experience: Finding the right physical therapist that is consistent in knowledge of your specific injury and knowledgeable, experienced, and educated of your injury and you’re comfortable with will help in the recovery process. Trying out a second physical therapist helps this determination process. The check in process is easy, painless, and convenient. The folks at the front are efficient and effective at their jobs (increased production in customer service and physical therapy services). Sanitizer bottles can be found to battle germs using their unwiped equipment aside from misleading empty wall sanitizers installed. Countless creative techniques used are quite useful for at home strengthening and recommend physical therapy because of this.

Negative experience: Been coming here for my last 2 surgeries had no issues. When I took my 3rd surgery referall I waited a month to get a call just for an appointment. I was in so much pain they recommended aquatic therapy so they put a request in to my dr. Few weeks went bye nobody got back to me. When I called they said well this dr hasn't responded etc. Come to find out they sent it to the wrong dr and they didn't Even know what they saw me for for my first appointment. Manager told me they were going to send the new request over to another location asap and they Apologize. Called beginning of last week they said they barley sent it (never sent it when the said they would the first time and never did the 2nd time either) the day i called last week (MONDAY) NOTHING and NOBODY has bothered to reach out. Manager said shed send it that day and I already Been waiting over 2 months to learn how to ease my way into walking again after a major surgery. As a patient I really feel like I didn't matter but I'm sure if it was their family or friends it'd be a different story. Won't be coming back here at all.. Already hard enough not being able to walk getting treated like this is just wrong.

Negative experience: Golden Bear does a good job in the physical therapy dept. However, their customer service is dismal. I have been receiving a bill for months now for services provided to someone else. When I first called they admitted that they had a billing problem/mix-up and I should just ignore the bill. Then I received the same bill a month or two later. I called and they again apologized and told me to disregard the bill - it was a mistake. I received a third and fourth bill, calling and then finally writing a letter to them asking to PLEASE stop sending this erroneous bill. No response until last week when I again received another bill with an unpaid balance. This time I tried calling and, of course, all I reach is a busy signal despite calling 20 or 30 times. I’m ready to call it quits with Golden Bear. Too bad, as the staff providing the physical therapy is excellent. I say, save yourself the headache and go see someone who is responsive and wants to provide good customer service.

Fantastic experience: John, the manager, is very professional. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk to. All of the staff have great communication skills and are always willing to listen. Great teamwork!!
