“Despite evidence-based research indicating the efficacy and cost-effectiveness for treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic floor muscle training is not commonly used as a first-line treatment in clinical practice in the USA”

Therefore, pelvic floor dysfunction may lead to symptoms during movement and perceived restriction in the ability to stay physically active. Physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction may therefore also improve general function and fitness level.

Fantastic experience: Getting help with my core after 5 kids. Helping with a weak glute and also a hip hike. Doctor is confident , friendly and very knowledgeable. They do so much more than just pelvic floor rehabilitation. They give you a thorough non rushed exam. She checks things that maybe your not complaining of as well to make sure she doesn't create. A second problem when she fixes your first one. Can't recommend her enough. Such a friendly office. She makes a thorough game plan for you and is very involved with your care. She will check in with her therapist and make sure everything is going good.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here a month and very impressed by the skill and expertise of Dr. Izkhakov. She had no hesitation asking me about my anxiety on the first visit which is so important to get under control to heal properly. After just one visit I was walking different and noticed a major improvement in my pelvic floor and hip pain. I still have a few months to go, but know I'm in good hands and look forward to having my body back. Thankful to have been recommended here, and for all I have learned about my own body. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Ali, Brigette, and Andrea are amazing! They have created such a comfortable and safe space. I have been working with them for a couple of months now and I have seen such a positive change towards my pelvic issues. I look forward to my visits with them every week.

Fantastic experience: I want to say, at first I was skeptical about all of this helping my pelvic floor issues, I have to say, after going 2 × a week for 6 months, and doing my exercises while there, and doing them diligently at home as the great staff there recommended, I have to say that it does work ! This is a great place, with a nice relaxing, work hard attitude, from all of the real nice staff on hand. You get out what you put in. I thank this organization in a big way.

Fantastic experience: I have endometriosis, and after laparoscopic ablation surgery I was in daily pain. My sciatic nerve in my left leg hurt basically constantly, I was bleeding for 5 days during ovulation in ADDITION to my period, I was urinating on average over 15 times a day and was pretty much always constipated. I know this is a lot of personal information for a Google review, but I think it’s important to share the details of all of the ways that pelvic floor therapy has improved my quality of life. My doctor did not suggest pelvic floor therapy as an option to deal with my pain, and considered the things I described above as normal and expected for a 30 year old with endometriosis. I couldn’t accept that, so I went searching for anything I could do to try and change how I had been feeling every day for over a year. Pelvic floor therapy was something I found out about almost by accident, but I made an appointment with my doctor to ask him about it, and he agreed that yes it would help and he’s not sure why he doesn’t let more patients know about it. I got a referral to Summerlin Pelvic and Physical Therapy, and started the week of Christmas 2019. Starting with 2 visits per week through the end of January, and then just once a week through the end of February, I learned many stretches and exercises that I practiced at home on the days I was not in therapy. I also received electrotherapy and targeted myofascial massage on my abdomen and hips, as well as a list of foods that could possibly irritate my bladder. All of these things together reduced my pain considerably. I no longer bleed during ovulation, my urination frequency has dropped to under 10 times per day and I imagine it will drop even lower if I keep practicing my exercises at home regularly and avoid foods that I found triggered my the most from the list. If there’s one thing I can recommend for anyone experiencing any of the same things as I described, I can’t say pelvic floor therapy enough times. If you put in the effort to practice at home and realize that they are muscles just like the rest of your body and they need regular activity to stay strong, you might be able to really change your day-to-day experience and be able to do more of the things that you want to do. In the last month, I have started to lift weights again, and practice yoga more comfortably. My posture is better and I feel more confident in myself and my movements. Everyone at Summerlin Pelvic and Physical Therapy was kind and respectful, and I always felt like I was being treated with great care.

Fantastic experience: I was having pain in my back and leg following birth of my second child. I went to the OB and Primary for a year with the response of "oh that's just normal post baby stuff" A co worker suggested this office and I am SOOO very grateful they did. In the little time I have been coming here I have already had my pain reduced. So very grateful and highly suggest ALL mothers to come here post baby to get you core and pelvic floor back in shape!

Fantastic experience: I am currently under the care of Summerlin Pelvic and Physical Therapy once again (different body party) and I can not say enough wonderful things about both Shoshana and her entire staff! I have been to many physical therapy offices in Las Vegas and this is by far the best! I highly recommended them.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Summerlin and Pelvic and Physical Therapy from my doctor after I reported having sciatic like pains going up and down my leg, and was in great pain when standing or walking. I had never been to physical therapy and had no idea what to expect or hope for. I met with Shoshana and started my therapy sessions. The staff is the nicest staff and makes treatment a complete and healing experience. I have been given the tools I need to understand, heal, and identify what is triggering my pain and how I can, on my own assist or prevent it from getting to anything near the amount of pain I was experiencing. I feel encouraged and empowered. Thank you so much to the entire wonderful staff at Summerlin Pelvic and Physical Therapy. You made me feel important, my healing a true thing, and I appreciate you all so much.

Fantastic experience: For anyone who experiences chronic pelvic pain, they will understand that it is a special kind of misery. I had it for a year before it was cured. I was fortunate enough to have a urologist who examined me and identified that I had a myofascial component to my chronic perineal pain. He directed me to see a physical therapist who specializes in therapy for chronic pelvic pain. My physical therapists here completely understood my debilitating, constant pain and urologic symptoms and they knew exactly what to do for it. After 3 months of therapy I have been pain free for over one month now; something which I never would have believed was possible. It has been truly life changing for me. Prior to coming here, all the scientific literature that I had read spoke only of directing patients to learn methods to deal with the chronic pain, and consider prescribing taking medications that really don't work for this condition (NSAIDS, gabapentin, tricyclics). I can testify that only pain management is not always the sole option and pelvic physical therapy under the management of a specialist may be very beneficial. In my case, within several months of STRICTLY following the prescribed steteches, myofascial release techniques and strengthening exercises, the pain gradually went away completely. I cannot emphasize enough that you must do these techniques every day. Spending about 15 minutes a day practicing these techniques to decrease your pain, and in my case, become pain free, is definitely worth your time. The bottom line is there is hope, and I highly recommend that you give this clinic a try.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely PHENOMENAL service. Dr. Shoshana is one of the most profession/knowledgeable doctors I have ever seen-and that’s across the board. The office is nice and the staff (Miss Tatum) is very friendly. They VALUE YOUR TIME and get you in & out.... I appreciate that beyond words.

Fantastic experience: Best PT I have seen ever! I have had physical and occupational therapy before and I used to market medical products and teach medical equipment seminars so I've been in several hundred PT clinics around the country and I've seen all types. With Summerlin Pelvic & PT, I had some results in 1 day and many more improvements at 1, 2 & 3 weeks. After being in pain and having limited range of motion for 3 years, this is unbelievable. Not your usual fast-food corporate run type physical therapy where you are with an PT assistant or aide for the entire time while they are simply assigning exercises to 4-6 people at a time. Don't waste your time and money with the fast-food type. Even if your insurance covers it, you can get better faster with the right therapist.

Fantastic experience: Summerlin Pelvic and Physical Therapy is outstanding!!! I went there looking for relief from severe pain and they could not have been more helpful. The Pain is 100% gone! Dr. Izkhakov is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She is a great communicator. She takes the time and care to make sure the patient is treated as an individual. One on one, no splitting time and patient juggling. Tatum is very nice and pleasant, she handled all the insurance hassle. She is terrific! I have been through several physical therapy stints at other places and Dr. Izkhakov and SPPT is absolutely the best! They also are avid Golden Knights fans like me . Hockey talk helped me get through the drudgery that therapy can be at times. If you need PT, I highly recommend Dr. Izkhakov. Forgo the large PT places and opt for excellent one on one care. *****!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shoshana was amazing. I went to Summerlin PT for PostPartum recovery and after 11 weeks of following their programming, stretches, and exercises, I am happy to say my pelvic floor feels strong and my diastasis recti has healed! Follow your PT regimen and be mindful of what they say and results will happen! Thanks Summerlin PT

Fantastic experience: I was diagnosed with pudendal neuralgia and it was recommended I start pelvic physical therapy. I have Medicaid insurance and for some reason Medicaid has a exclusive contract with a Pelvic PT office that did not provide Pelvic PT services and after making tons of phone calls i found Summerlin Pelvic & PT. Tatum who works at the front desk was awesome about calling me and giving updates on when they would start accepting my insurance, and was able to get me pre-approved for several sessions. Since starting Pelvic PT I have notice a drastic improvement in my pain level and other bothersome symptoms. All of the staff is very friendly and overall the environment is amazing. I highly recommend this office for your physical therapy needs :)
