Experiencia fantástica: We brought our old boy Winston in after the vet told us he required a $6000 surgery to *maybe* help his pain and ability to walk. After several weeks of this physical therapy he is hoping, and running, going up stairs on his own, jumping on couches. He seems like a dog 2 years younger! I would absolutely recommend this place! The owner is nice and helpful as well explaining at home therapy you can do with your pups. He's gentle but firm with Winston during therapy. I would recommend this to anyone with a dog getting older and losing mobility

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my rescue senior boxer mix (Butters) to Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy because I wanted to help him be comfortable for what I believed would be a potential end-of-life decision due to his decreased mobility. With confidence, I know I will not be making that decision anytime soon. Before therapy, Butters was dragging his back paws (requiring dog boots for protection) and was able to walk only short distances, sometimes requiring me to carry him (86 lbs). He was unable to walk up and down flights of stairs, which resulted in searching for and finding a new space where he could easily walk around. After a neurology visit, it was recommended that I consider an MRI or physical therapy. I chose physical therapy. From his initial assessment, Josh provided us with the tools, knowledge, and schedule that would set Butters up for success (Gold Plan). Today, Butters walks longer distances and can do his old man zoomies around the yard. He no longer requires boots, as his stride has improved significantly. When visiting friends from our old neighborhood, they immediately recognize the improvement Butters has made. It is a hard job to care for our fur babies when they get old, and even harder, when to say when it is time to say goodbye. I am grateful that I found Josh at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy, because now I can continue to give Butters the life he has always deserved. Based on Butters and our experience, we 100% would recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Josh is amazing! Our 12 yr old pomeranian, Ellie, has IVDD and had surgery 4 yrs ago on her cervical spine. Recently she began having daily neck spasms and the meds not helping very much. It is so hard to watch her suffer and not know what else to do for her. Thankfully we found Dr. Josh! She had 8 sessions of PT with Dr. Josh and she is seriously a new dog. She hasn't had a neck spasm in weeks and is trotting around and running like she did before the IVDD. Dr. Josh taught us how to help Ellie too. We are forever grateful for the pain relief and new lease on life Dr. Josh has given Ellie! Cant thank Dr. Josh enough!

He was found to have sciatica and severe arthritis extending from his mid to low back. The doctor recommended some pain medication and I took Tucker home. Unfortunately he began to worsen. I could barely get him up to eat or go outside. He was in so much pain. I found Josh’s website online and gave him a call for help. He evaluated Tucker that same afternoon and even stayed late to see us. Tucker left his first therapy session bearing weight on his back leg for the first time in weeks. Tucker is about half way through his therapy and is a new dog! Josh is very knowledgeable, kind and great with animals. I’m so happy to have my Tucker back running around his yard and feeling better than he has for a long time!

Experiencia fantástica: I can't speak highly enough about Josh. My dog Stella suffered a spine injury from a game of catch, leaving her back legs paralyzed. It was devastating. I took her to an emergency vet, who told me she her chances of walking again were very low. They said her only option was surgery, and they wanted an up front amount that I couldn't afford. I left the place hopeless. A friend of mine recommended Josh, having sent his own pup there for a torn ACL. I arrived there expecting a similar diagnosis, but I was immediately met with hope and support. He gave me a free consult with Stella, and some pt instructions to do at home with her, so I could make a good decision. Stella immediately trusted him, and so did I. It was immediately apparent that he cared about her well being, genuinely. I took her home, practiced his recommended therapy, and she was standing up on her own in two weeks. Let me tell you I raced back to him, it was like a miracle considering the grim diagnosis she got from the vet. I signed up, and we worked with him for 12 weeks. Stella is walking, running, and being her happy self again. I should mention she is a 45 lb pit mix. I truly can't thank he enough for helping her get a second chance, and helping me learn so much. It's been two years since her injury, and she is still a happy go lucky kid. I would do again. The cost was also about 1/3 of surgeries, and as a single mom that was incredible. I am equipped with knowledge I didn't have before, I know when to give her little regular massages, and he gave us a beautiful alternative/option we didn't know we had. She has a slight wobble now, but it just gets her extra attention and pets from everyone haha. Thank you so much Josh, for believing in my baby. Truly! I've added some progression photos, from her paralysis, to her first stand after two weeks, to the present day.

Our retired financial situation could not afford that so I saught out other treatments and I found Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. What a Blessing ‼️ our pup, Foxie was struggling to drag her rear end and having extreme difficulty going to the bathroom. Josh was AMAZING and Extremely caring. A Godsend. After treatment he shared home exercises and within a week we had our little girl on the mend. We continued with Josh's guidance and I can Happily report Foxie is back to her non stop self with unconditional loves and snuggles. Experiencia fantástica: I brought in my 8.5 year old large Mixed breed with a partial acl tear. We had three sessions and he gave me videos with lots of at home pt. Josh went on vacation for a week and during that week my dog continued to improve with josh’s at home pt. While he was Performing the pt he worked on zoes arthritis which was probably contributing to the knee pain. She had had the injury for two months before we saw josh and was greatly improved after three weeks and is now better than ever.

My dog experienced immediate relief after just the second visit, and went from being in pain and unable to play, to having daily zoomies and being full of energy again. Dr. Josh has also been so incredibly patient and kind with my dog, despite her less-than-cooperative behavior and dramatic attempts to escape by jumping out of his arms (she likes him, she just doesn’t know how to express it). It's clear that he is incredibly knowledgeable (with the certifications to back it up) and genuinely loves animals. Again, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I am extremely pleased and happy to have taken my little murkier girl, Missy to Dr. Josh Hall for treatment. Missy suddenly started limping and had her hind leg up every time she walked. My friends who have had their dog treated by him after her surgery… recommended him to me. I called him and he was able to see her the next day. He assured me that he could work with her and that surgery would not be necessary. We did 8 weeks of therapy and we worked on it at home as best as we could- Missy had her last therapy appointment yesterday-10/14/2024…we are happy that she had done so well and is in good shape. Missy is hard to work with- she’s very energetic and has a mind of her own, can be stubborn.. but Dr. Hall has the utmost patience and he worked with her diligently. I will recommend Dr. Josh Hall for any animal needing physical therapy and treatment. Not only is he extremely good- he is gentle and genuinely caring and has a lot of hands on experience and advice. Experiencia fantástica: My 13-year-old Mini Schnauzer Tulip was dealing with some arthritis and weakness in her back legs, along with shaking. She had a few scary falls on stairs. My husband started suggesting it might be time to put her down as her quality of life was quickly declining. I started looking into physical therapy and quickly found Dr. Josh at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. He got us right in, assessed the situation, and set up a treatment plan. Within a few weeks Tulip’s hind legs were stronger and no longer shaking. She has not had any falls and is even going on daily walks around our neighborhood. Even my grandkids commented on how Tulip is playful like a puppy again. I’m so grateful to Dr. Josh for all he did for Tulip.

Experiencia fantástica: Finding Josh at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy was beyond a blessing to me. In late April of this year, my dog, Gus, suddenly lost the ability to walk with his back legs. He was wobbling and unable to hold himself up. I took him to the emergency veterinarian who ran tests and diagnosed him with IVDD. Gus is a 16.5 year old dachshund/chihuahua mix with kidney and heart issues. I was devastated by the IVDD experience I had with him and felt very hopeless as the emergency vet clinic didn’t offer much optimism for Gus. He was not a surgery candidate (thank goodness as I reflect back on this) and his only option according to the vet was to stay in a crate for 4-6 weeks and “hope for the best”. They even began to talk to me about euthanasia. Everything looked very grim but I was not ready to accept this fate for him! After shedding some tears, I picked up the phone that following Monday morning, talked to Josh and he got Gus in for an initial assessment appointment that day! Josh approached Gus and his diagnosis with grace and refreshing optimism. He was careful with him, as Gus was in early stages of his injury, and presented me with a treatment plan which included 10 customized therapy sessions. At first, we were in therapy 2 x a week, then later 1 x a week, and I am happy to say we are about to step into our final session this afternoon! Treatment included a variety of methods and Josh is so smart and has a strong intuitive nature to understand what each animal will need. Within weeks, we could physically see that Gus’s herniated disc smoothed out and he was walking again carefully and only under supervision, his feet were appropriating properly, things were moving in the right direction. I am a firm believer in Josh’s approach and would recommend him to anyone 1,000 times over, I wish I could give more than 5 stars on here because I would! Gus is pretty much back to himself, back to his busy ways of begging for food and getting the most out of life (he’s good at this!) and thanks to Josh, he gets to keep on chugging along

Experiencia fantástica: Josh really knows his stuff and has improved the quality of our dog Gypsy's quality of life! We rescued her as a 10-month-old and didn't realize that there was already an injury previous to that time. She was very normal until she reached the age of 6 and then she developed pretty severe stiffness in her hind legs. That led to a limp and even a Yelp of pain when she would get up from lying for a while . The vet was more than ready to just put her on carprofen for the rest of her life which can be damaging to kidneys and liver. We weren't ready to accept that! She's a husky Elkhound mix and exercise/adventure is her entire life! After 10 or 12 sessions with Josh doing dry needling and muscle scraping along with the exercises we were given, she's almost back to 100%! I'm not sure that most people even realize that pet physical therapy is a thing, but it literally saved her life. Do your pup a favor, spend the money and put in the work. It's definitely worth it!!

Despite having tried physical therapy in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles, we felt that Scaia's progress was not as significant as we had hoped. Dr. Hall was able to give our Frenchie back complete mobility and the quality of life we did not think he’d ever have again. Experiencia fantástica: Redbull (Rebel) absolutely LOVES Dr Josh! He basically swoons into his arms every time we go. At our first discovery visit (free assessment) he spent a lot of time building a friendly rapport with Redbull, making him feel safe and comfortable. Nerves quickly turned to 'He's my friend now mommy! He gives me treats!'. On the first visit, Dr. Josh had gone over an action plan with us, and over the next few months tailored it appropriate to Rebel's level of healing of relapses. He's very observant of a dog's mannerisms throughout and allows them take breaks as needed. If your dog's feeling overworked he'll stop that exercise and move on to something else. Redbull started with a CCL tear. He was limping, in pain, and not wanting to move. We did 14 visits. Dr. Josh focused on the CCL but also on the arthritis down his back and hip. Redbull is a new happy dog who's back to running and jumping. He still has occasional mobility issues from the arthritis but is better than he was BEFORE his CCL injury. Experiencia fantástica: We can't say enough good things about Josh and SL Animal PT. Our little Buddy had surgery for IVDD and was healing really well until he wasn't. His back legs were very stiff and he walked around more on momentum than strength. We were given the names of other PT options by the hospital but after doing some research, we went with Josh. His methods, treatments, demeanor, attitude, and advice kept us going. We did the advised home exercises with Buddy daily and he began improving immediately. Even when his progress slowed down, Josh would illustrate the ways that Buddy had improved since he last saw him. Josh even found an exercise that Buddy was excited about! Plus, if we need any follow-up or have any questions, we feel like we would go here. We highly recommend Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy for that pet that is a very important member of the family. Experiencia fantástica: Our 5 year old mixed breed dog Yoshi had two full CCL Tears in October of 2023. Dr. Hall was able to help us rehab Yoshi to almost completely back to normal. We started noticing a significant difference in just a few short weeks. We could not be more pleased with our results and not having to do the expensive and invasive surgery that most vet's recommend. Yoshi has been weaned off all of his medications and is running and playing like he used to. We are so thankful to have found Josh, he clearly loves the animals and makes them comfortable and at ease. I would highly recommend Dr. Hall.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Josh is just the BEST! Unbeknownst to us Timber had a bone infection on a toe and the infection spread to her spine. The spinal infection caused Timber to lose hind leg mobility. After her amputation and treatment, her doctor suggested physical therapy and that is when we found Josh. With his knowledge, skill, home therapy program and twice weekly visits Timber improved significantly, she takes long walks, runs, climbs up hills and can swim for hours. Josh also provides the best customer service anytime you have questions or need feedback on a specific issue. Timber loved going to therapy and got excited when she realized that was where she was heading to. I also enjoy the fact that if Timber needs some fine tuning therapy sessions Josh is just a phone call away. If your pet has any mobility issues Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy is definitely the place to go!

Experiencia fantástica: Josh is a true miracle worker. My 15 year old pittie had degenerative myelopathy & a torn ACL and had almost lost all of her mobility and we were feeling pretty hopeless. But we took a chance on with Josh. At first we were apprehensive as it was an investment in something that we weren't sure could work, as her legs seemed so long gone. But he did such an amazing job working with her and got to know her so well... and he was so patient with her and customized a plan and also was great about educating us so we were able to do exercises with her at home. She never regained full mobility as she was just really old and her nerves were messed up. But she was functional and quality of life improved tremendously after going to him. When she passed, he was very compassionate. He cares about his clients so much, I cannot recommend him highly enough!

When we first saw Dr. Josh Leo had already become paralyzed in all 4 limbs with what we thought to be IVDD. After consulting MANY veterinary specialists including a neurologist, I was told many times that Leo would need a $10,000 surgery immediately to potentially regain any function in his arms and legs. I also had many tell me that I should put him down because he would never be able to recover. Leo has been with me through a third of my life and as any dog mom would think, I couldn’t give up on him. It was by the grace of God that I came across Salt Lake Animal PT. Experiencia fantástica: My golden retriever puppy was diagnosed with HOD(Hypertrophic Osteodystropy) at 3 1/2 months. It effected her growth plates, caused severe pain and muscle weakness. Once the vet was able to get her pain under control and gave clearance, Geddy started PT. She quickly made so much progress in her strength and mobility. Josh gave us exercises to do at home that were safe for her growth plates. Josh also helped us get a brace that Geddy uses on her walks to protect a foot that is crooked from the HOD. Geddy has gone from not being able to stand up to bouncing around and acting like a regular puppy. She also loves going to PT.

Experiencia fantástica: Take your dog here! We researched several other PT's in the area and Dr.Hall was by far the easiest to work with, as well as probably the most versed in the area. He is incredibly knowledgeable in animal PT, and keeps his practice up to date with the latest technologies and theories. I am a professional dog trainer, and my service-working dog, Lucy was hit by a truck and shattered her pelvis about 4 years ago, and had a very, very slow recovery before taking her to PT. She experienced complex neuropathy, as well as muscular atrophy among other things, and would only use her injured leg maybe 1/5 of the time. After a couple of sessions with Dr.Hall, Lucy was regularly using her bad leg again, and was even able to hop onto a fire hydrant! My dog is incredibly important to my work, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to work on her.

Experiencia fantástica: My pup was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis at only 4 years old. He was put on anti-inflammatories shortly after but it was clear they could only do so much. Physical therapy seemed like the obvious answer and after seeing the reviews for Josh I decided to give him a shot. Within a week I was seeing visible differences in my dog’s quality of life. His pain decreased significantly, he could walk and run and jump in ways he hadn’t since he was a puppy. We do daily exercises recommended by Josh on top of his weekly visits and my pup just loves them, it’s been a great bonding experience for my dog and I plus it’s also a great excuse for him to earn treats. I couldn’t recommend Josh enough, he changed my dog’s life.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Josh is an absolute lifesaver! A couple months ago our sweet dog (toy poodle) was diagnosed with IVDD. She began having mild paralysis in her hind legs. We took her to the vet and were told a costly MRI followed by a costly surgery that only had marginal chance of success would be required or we needed to look at her quality of life and possibly the unthinkable. I was beyond devastated. Luckily my husband had the wherewithal to look into alternative solutions and he found Dr. Josh with a plan that we could make work financially. Just like the videos we saw of other people’s results, we saw near instant results and further improvement over the coming weeks and months. He is knowledgeable and wonderful with animals and really cares about all his clients and their owners. 10/10 recommend with zero reservations! Definitely come to him before surgery. With his skills, knowledge, and a genuine care for my dog, Dr. Hall was able to see what none of the specialists had, and discovered the real reason he was limping. I brought my 3.5-year-old Malinois Joker to him due to a front limb limp. After spending a year on x-rays, two ultrasounds, four specialists, shockwave therapy, and two chiropractors, Joker was still limping. Every specialist we saw thought he had a left side shoulder injury that was causing the limp. The first specialist told us to try the shockwave therapy, another said to have steroids injected into the joints, the next said just give him pain meds for 3 months and get him to lose some weight. After the shockwave therapy did not help, I was hesitant to try anything else. I decided to try physical therapy and found Josh. From our very first appointment, I could tell how much Dr. Hall cared and genuinely wanted to help Joker. During the discovery visit, he evaluated Joker thoroughly, checking for any problems with range of motion, strength and pain, not just in his left shoulder, but the whole dog, every joint and muscle. He was kind and patient while teaching me how to do all the stretches and exercises that would help Joker build strength and improve his mobility. He also used cold laser, dry needling and other techniques to lessen pain and promote healing. After a few sessions Joker’s limp was not improving, Josh was determined to figure out why. He re-evaluated Joker’s gait, while taking some slow motion video. Instead of focusing on the left shoulder we were trying to treat, he looked for anything out of the ordinary. As it turns out, Joker was not limping on the left side, but his right wrist was collapsing. He had carpal hyperextension on the right. That hyperextension was causing him display a gait that would normally indicate left limb injury when seen in real time. I looked back through videos of Joker when the limp started and sure enough, slowed down you could see it had been that right wrist the whole time. Dr Hall went out of his way to reach out to colleagues, share Joker’s photos and videos, and get advice to help me choose a good wrist brace. He helped me set up the brace and fit it correctly to Joker. As soon as we started bracing his wrist, he was like a new dog! I had not seen him so happy in more than a year, running, playing, just being a dog. It is hard to put into words the happiness I felt seeing my boy doing so much better. I will be forever grateful for Dr Josh Hall’s skill set, kindness and determination. He is a great person, Joker loves him, and we are happy to continue working with him. He has made big difference in our lives and my dog’s quality of life already! Thank you for everything!

He referred me to an awesome orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Dale Smith) to repair my dog's luxating patella and torn ACL and then Josh educated me on following up with physical therapy after the surgery. With Josh's physical therapy, my dog gained back more of her strength to better use her affected leg. Josh was very loving and tuned in with her tolerance level to the various exercises. I highly recommend him!

Experiencia fantástica: A great experience, which provided peace of mind for me and a wellness plan for my pup at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. From consultation to each therapy session my Panipopo (Popo for short) was able to get her arthritis leg on a treatment plan so that she could continue to use her leg and a have the best quality of life. When the vet said she had arthritis and gave meds, I wanted more of a treatment plan then just meds. In googling animal therapy, I was able to find Joshua Hall and his practice at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. Josh is vested in the care and well being of animals. The animals also recognize it too and feel safe. From the get go my Panipopo was treated with amazing care. As a result of the therapy movements it was able to strengthen her legs so that she could stand, walk, run, and jump. Activities that had been restricted with the arthritis when she was having an episode. The peace of mind I feel regarding Popo’s health and knowing about Josh’s service if I need it in the future will have me coming back. Thanks is not enough to Josh and his amazing work!

Experiencia fantástica: My Siberian Husky Serena was diagnosed with a CCL tear and I was told by the vet that surgery was the only option we had. After doing research I found the amazing reviews and testimonials of those on here talking about how great Josh was . I was definitely skeptical at first but was impressed from the beginning. Josh right away talked to me about what I wanted to see to make sure that therapy was the right option. We decided to do a 10 visit plan and today was her last visit. If you’ve never had a husky they are very stubborn and independent and Serena never made it easy for Josh. She ran around and fought every single step of the way. After the sessions Serena is as close to 100 percent as I could ever imagine. She is able to run, go up stairs without pain, and even jump when needed. Before the visit she was unable to even put pressure on her leg. I feel super lucky to have found this clinic and I hope if anyone reading this is an a similar situation they will give it a try as well. On top of really helping dogs and having a big heart Josh is also a super kind human being. He will make your time enjoyable just getting to know him also.

Experiencia fantástica: Josh is amazing! I was devastated when a surgery to remove a benign lump suddenly turned into a front leg amputation for my dog, Red. I didn't know where to go and the poor thing was starting to limp on one of his hind legs and I thought "you only have three legs now, you can't limp on one of them anymore!" I found out about Dog Physical Therapy from the tripawds website and sent out a message to see what we could do. Josh is great! He's so calm and easy going with the dogs. Red was excited to go back and see him again. Now Red is hoping along on three legs doing great! No hint of a limp in any of the remaining legs! Experiencia fantástica: I brought my dog Garnet in as a surgery alternative (he told his CCL in both back legs). He’s nearly 8 now and a six week recovery time didn’t seem in his best interest so our vet recommended this clinic. Josh is probably one of the most kind and compassionate people I’ve ever met when dealing with animals. Even when my dog was having a bad listening day he would pet him, tell him he was good, and smile. On the first discovery visit, he knew exactly what was wrong with my dog and was confident in a treatment plan. We went with the ten session visit, made a plan of reasonable treatment outcomes, and as long as we stuck to our homework and came in for regular visits we could see the improvements after one week. Today was the last day, and Garnet is much more active and healthier than ever. His back legs are always going to be tender, he can’t run or jump very well, but his overall quality of life has improved. He can go up and down the stairs, take small 15 minute walks, sit with ease and go to the bathroom without his back legs cracking. Forever grateful to Josh for working with my pup!! And now that we have his exercises, we can continue the treatment beyond just these last 10 visits to continue to strengthen his legs. Thank you so much for Giving us this opportunity!!! We will be back for any other physical therapy treatments any of our dogs need. Also, my dog gets really anxious without my littler dog around, Josh let us bring both dogs in every time so my little dog could sit and comfort him and just be around. Experiencia fantástica: FHO surgery success story......my toy poodle at 7.5month old had surgery 2 weeks upon discovery of Legg Perthese disease....then 7 weeks later we started physical therapy with Josh that lasted 3.5 months across 10 sessions. He was friendly, had the right tools, training, and expertise. My dog beat the odds showing only 30% recover back to normal . My dog is 99% back to normal self running, playing, and happy. Experiencia fantástica: Six weeks ago, I didn’t think I would be writing this review. Chase, my Maltese/Pomeranian mix, who turned 16 today lost all mobility in his hind legs. He couldn’t stand/walk on his own. The vet found nothing in his X-rays and stated that Chase was cleared to try to PT. That’s when we found Josh! Both the vet and Josh knew this pup had too much life in him to give up on him. Josh created a personal rehab plan and techniques tailored to Chase. Each sessions started with tell me what has happened since last session and then Josh created a plan for that session. Chase is a senior dog and surgery would not be an option. Josh has certifications in various animal therapy treatments. The best part is that he is so down to earth and caring. Every animal that walks through his door is his priority and he treats them as if they were his own. Nothing is guaranteed in in life and he gave Chase his quality of life back. My dog has never taken kindly to strangers and he gave josh kisses the first time he met him, it was shocking. But I knew right away that Josh genuinely cared about my dogs wellbeing. Experiencia fantástica: DR JOSH IS AMAZING! Our 7 1/2 year old American Akita had ccl surgery on his left hind leg in 2021. He never regained very good use of this leg. He was limping and in pain. He loves walks, and would want to go and then sit after about 10 mins and not get up. We didn’t know what to do. We tried medication and that helped a bit. For months I looked for help on line. I found a few places, but, kept coming back to SL animal PT. So I called and the rest is beautiful history! Kai is 145 lbs. and he can walk, run, and jump like a puppy now!! Experiencia fantástica: I went to Josh after being frustrated with a vet that seemed to have no idea how to do an osteo exam and told me there was nothing wrong with Bernie. He was constantly hurting himself when playing too hard, to the point that he wouldn't even get up off his bed and was crying in pain when touched. Josh identified the minor injury on his back and leg right away. After several sessions with Josh Bernie no longer cries in pain and he is putting all weight on his leg again. Experiencia fantástica: Josh is amazing! I met with Josh about my dog Riker. He had pinched a nerve in his back and was very stiff and limping and in a lot pain when we went in for our initial evaluation. Josh came up with a great healing plan and we started work right away. Riker is now back to his normal self. He’s no longer stiff, no longer has a pinched nerve, and walks and plays like normal. He isn’t in pain any more either. Josh was extremely helpful and explained every step of the plan and all the exercises. I am extremely grateful that we found him and he could help us out. Josh was so wonderful with Riker who sometimes gets nervous around strange me.

My miniature dachshund was paralyzed; two surgeries later, the neurologist predicted she would never walk again. Obviously this was devastating, but I came across testimonials and videos from Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy where dogs with similar injuries and prognoses had recovered. From a hopeful place, I decided to reach out and I’m so glad I did. Josh was very responsive and quick to return my call. He answered the many questions I lobbed his way with care and insight. Experiencia fantástica: My experience with SL Animal Physical Therapy has been great. I knew my dog Lilly (a 10 year old lab/aussie mix) had a herniated disc, but after about a year I could tell it was causing her pain on our walks. She couldn't get on the bed or in and out of the car without some limping as the day went on, and was even losing control of her back legs on our walks. After taking her to Josh, Lilly acts like she is 5 years younger! She is getting in and out of the car and even running around on our walks with a newfound energy. You can really tell Josh cares about the dogs he works with, and I appreciated how he explained everything to me and just adored Lill. I especially liked that he gave me exercises I can do at home with her to keep her strength and mobility up, so I felt really involved in the process and like we can keep her healthy for a long time. Experiencia fantástica: I brought in my 12 year old Aussie after countless vet visits. They were suggesting surgery and said he could never play ball again. Kept giving me the “old dog” speech. He lives for ball and it was so sad to see him limping even after 1 throw. I decided as a last ditch effort to try physical therapy with Josh and now my baby is chasing balls again. No more limping or pain and he has the energy of a puppy. Josh was really amazing with him. My dog doesn’t like males and can be difficult to work with and aggressive. Experiencia fantástica: For the past 3 or so years, Roxie would have flare ups of pain that would leave her pacing around for hours on end. She wouldn't lie down and when she did, it would last a few seconds before she'd get back up and resume pacing. These instances would always end in a vet visit where they'd give her pain meds and steroids, a temporary fix to address the immediate pain and discomfort but nothing really tangible for future occurrences. Our newest vet believes her flare ups are due a herniated disc in her front left shoulder. After discussing and looking up therapy options that could help bring some more long term relief to Roxie, I found Dr. Josh and set up a consult. He went over treatment options and how they could help Roxie and I signed up for a 10-session plan. The therapies have been really great for Roxie. Her movements seem better and more balanced (she's putting more pressure back on her injured side), she's been able to go on longer walks, stairs are no longer slowing her down, and after a recent incident where she strained her leg, she didn't wind up pacing around for hours like she usually does and instead bounced back quickly. It's great to have the exercises Dr. Josh taught me so I can continue working on Roxie and building her strength so that even if she were to have another flare up, it'll at least be less painful and debilitating for her. Beyond the physical improvements from his knowledgeable mix of therapies, Dr. Josh was also great at handling Roxie. She gets really anxious in any sort of vet-like office but Dr. Josh handles her well and doesn't let it interfere with her sessions. Roxie has even taken treats from him which she has never in her 10 years of vet visits ever done. I highly recommend going to Dr. Josh if you want to find a solution for your pet's pain that isn't a risky surgery. You'll get great communication, an empathetic doc, a clear and comprehensive therapy plan, and a boost in the quality of life for your four-legged companion. It's a worthwhile investment. Experiencia fantástica: My 10 year old husky began limping on his rear leg. We got x-rays done with our vet and found out he had a partial tear to his rear knee. The only option appeared to be TPLO surgury until we got a second opinion and brought Ziggy in to meet at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. The physical therapist Joshua, walked us through the physical therapy process and took personal care of Ziggy through out his recovery. Ziggy took well to Joshua's calm, friendly and kind demeanor. His knowledge and love for animals shows in his work. He was very patient and easy to communicate with through out the weekly 2 month visit process. After 9 sessions with Joshua our husky is back to normal hiking activity and we didnt have to put Ziggy through the surgury process. Thank you Joshua for taking care of our husky Ziggy!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Our cardigan corgi, Blue, hurt his back while we were at work and was not using his rear legs. I took him to work with me the following day (I’m a vet tech). The vet I work with got Blue started on a couple medications and told us to let him rest but that he would likely need an MRI and surgery to find and correct the problem. Rest and medication only got us so far and it was heartbreaking to see Blue slipping and sliding, unable to do the things he used to love. After doing a lot of research I found that even if we did an MRI and went through with surgery there was no guarantee that this would completely fix our boy. I simply could not afford to spend that much money without knowing for sure that our boy would be fixed. I called around to a couple other places that do physical therapy for dogs but Josh stood out to me because he allowed me to stay with Blue throughout his appointment. Blue tends to be nervous around strangers and is especially wary of men but Josh was very patient with Blue and offered him treats to help him be more comfortable. Blue has come so far and is back to doing his favorite thing, chasing the ball, all thanks to Josh’s help and expertise! Thank you helping us get our boy back to doing what he loves.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my 75lbs dog to Josh after he tore his MCL in his hind leg. I was told he needed surgery and that he’d probably have a hard time walking from here on out. Josh did an intake with Milo and told me he thought we could treat with out surgery, and after the first couple of months, Milo acts like he was never hurt! He still has a slight limp sometimes but the difference is astronomical. I have a hard time believing that he would’ve recovered so well after surgery, without Josh. His methods are very natural and effective and I’m very happy that I took my baby boy to him.

Experiencia fantástica: Josh helped save our dog's life! Our boy Atlas was diagnosed with IVDD in November and had an accident where he was completely unable to move. Paralyzed from the neck down, Atlas was unable to use the restroom, eat, and he needed to be manually flipped when lying down. We were TERRIFIED. After taking Atlas to the Emergency Room we were told that he had THREE DAYS TO LIVE. If he wasn't able to walk after the three days were up, the vet suggested euthanasia. Heartbroken and nearly hopless, we decided to call Josh. He immediately took us in as an emergency case and literally saved our sweet boy. After a few months of therapy Atlas is completely mobile! He's back to walking, playing with squeaky toys, and running! Josh is personable, friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable! We can't thank him enough!

Experiencia fantástica: A few months ago, I returned home from work to find my sweet dog Obi struggling to walk, his back was arched like a rainbow, and he could not lift his head. My wife and I immediately took him to the nearest animal hospital for help. An hour or two later, we received his diagnosis, my boy was suffering from severe IVDD. We were prescribed some mild medication and told we should expect the worst. A few days went by, and our hearts were breaking as we watched his symptoms and pain getting worse. I was desperate to help my dog, and began studying what if anything I could do to help him. That's when I found Josh and Salt Lake Animal Therapy. We scheduled an interview for as soon as possible. Josh was very professional, and provided us with some basic information and told us he could help. For the next three months we made weekly appointments for Therapy. Josh not only helped my boy, but he helped me too. He trained us how to give Obi exercises at home, and showed us some tools we could use to help between appointments. Gradually Obi began to walk and smile and lift his head, until the point where he was practically brand new. Today my dog is happier than ever, he runs, and plays, and wrestles and snuggles. What Josh and Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy did for me, and my dog was priceless. I am so grateful for him. I highly recommend, if your dog is suffering from IVDD, please do not hesitate to contact him. I know that if I ever need more help, this is where I will go.

Experiencia fantástica: My dog, Remy, after Xrays and a medical evaluation, was found to have a partial tear in his back right leg, similar to an ACL issue in humans. Surgery was suggested with rehab taking about 4 months after 24/7 in a kennel for two weeks....yikes! We have many stairs in our home. Josh Hall was found, and a discovery appointment was made. Remy has been receiving PT twice weekly for eight weeks, with amazing results. Truly, Josh is a miracle worker Remy is now walking with weight on his back right leg, whereas before, he was hobbled. The variety of exercises that Josh has tailored for Remy are bringing my fabulous poodle back to the quality of life that this 10 year old has come to enjoy, which makes this human, me, so very happy, Anne

Experiencia fantástica: The dog and I were thinking maybe physical therapy wasn't an option after he was declined as a patient at a different clinic for non-compliance and an overall stubborn attitude. He's known at the dog park as, "the guy who lays down and refuses to leave," so getting him to do anything he doesn't want to do is pretty much impossible. But almost a year after TPLO repair, he was still limping. At just three years old, I didn't consider this a high enough quality of life. So we started going to Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy, him with his reservations and me with mine. It took a couple visits, but Josh prioritized earning my dog's trust in order to ensure good treatment. Eventually, Dog memorized the route to the clinic and would start getting really excited in the car about two blocks away. He loves physical therapy. It has been a joy to watch my dog do things he hasn't been able to do in almost two years. He can run again (although he usually chooses not to), he can jump, and he can play with other dogs. He can also do bad dog stuff like steal things off the kitchen table. Today he graduated from physical therapy feeling like a pup again. We will continue to work on the home exercises that Josh customized for him and we will go back if he ever needs more therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: My sweet 14 year old Minnie, an aussie/pit mix, has had a really hard time with elbow dysplasia. Then we discovered she had blown discs. Medications weren't really giving her enough pain relief, so we heard about Josh at SLAPT and scheduled a visit. She has done so very well with his gentle touch and customized PT! She has a pep in her step, plays with our other dog again and seems to be feeling much better. We will continue to give her "tune ups" but I can't say enough about how much this therapy has helped her. Josh has been a god send for Minnie!!

Josh provided amazing care for Wally, and provided a full therapy program consisting of joint mobility, balance, stimulation, acupuncture, and more, which had him feeling noticeably better within only a few weeks. Experiencia fantástica: About two months ago our fur baby had lost all movement in her back legs. Our vet couldn’t find anything wrong and sent us to a specialist. They ended up suggesting surgery, so we looked into Physical Therapy. We found Josh and made the call, he was able to get us in right away due to the diagnosis. He was able to work with her through the various physical exercises and soft tissue work, as well as needling. She has come alive in just these few short months since April, and made so much progress. She’s up and walking, running and playing. She went from not being able to move to being so determined to Dog again and it’s all thanks to Josh and his working with her. We couldn’t have done it without him. Experiencia fantástica: Our chiweenie Turbo experienced intense pain in her back that her vet diagnosed as a herniated disc, a problem that is common for long dogs, but could only provide her with medications for pain management. The pain meds made her dopey and sleepy, and when they wore off, she yelped in pain. We couldn’t leave her like this. Thankfully, we found Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. PT Josh Hall found that Turbo was losing sensation in her back legs, which led to her curling her spine more, which created strain on her discs. Within one visit Turbo’s pain eased and she was able to get around more. With each visit, her posture improved, the strength in her legs returned, and her bright, barky personality returned, too. Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy gave Turbo a success story. She was in danger of losing her ability to walk and was in excruciating pain, but now we have our happy, sweet girl back. 5/5, definitely recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: My Longhaired Dachshund, Ziggy, had a herniated disc injury that caused him to lose partial function in his back legs. I was so grateful to find Josh with Salt Lake animal Physical Therapy who was willing to speak with me on the phone through Ziggy’s diagnosis and injury progression. Josh was the only person that gave me hope of recovery without surgery. I have been incredibly impressed with Josh’s knowledge, resources and communication in therapy. He does one on one sessions in a private room and gives Ziggy individualized attention and treatment plans. Ziggy has made incredible progress and i couldn’t be happier with his experience in therapy! I can’t speak too highly of Josh, he is a miracle worker!

Experiencia fantástica: My dog, Violet, and I are huge fans of Joshua Hall of Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. I took Violet, a five-year old pitbull mix, to see Joshua for physical therapy after she was diagnosed with a herniated disk that resulted in incontinence and paralysis of her back legs. Joshua was great about getting her in for a session quickly and I was able to see progress towards recovery after only a few sessions. Violet has continued to improve dramatically and has now regained control of her bladder and is able to stand, walk and even run on her own. In every therapy session, Joshua has been incredibly tuned in to Violet, creating a special bond with her and adapting his knowledge of different healing modalities to meet her specific needs. Joshua has also been really great working with me, explaining the different therapies and at home exercises, as well as being encouraging and helping me to stay positive and focused on recovery.

Experiencia fantástica: I came home one day and my dog Benny was barely able to move. I took him to the vet and they gave him a bunch of meds for lower disc pain. Benny was slow to improve and I felt like the medication was only really covering up the problem and not helping to fix it. I reached out to Josh and had him take a look at Benny. He did a work session on Benny and one day later I could tell he was more mobile and more like himself then weeks of being on pain medication had done. He had Benny back to his regular self in no time, I would recommend Josh to any of my friends and family!

The vet told me that they had done all that he could for him. He recommended that we put Mylo down before he lost more of his faculties. I took him to see Joshua Hall about a year ago and he now runs around like a youthful puppy. Mylo has had ZERO recurring issues since being seen at Salt Lake Animal Physical Therapy. I am sooooo happy to have my puupy back again.

My dog was experiencing a small limp and wasn't placing too much weight on his paw. Josh applied a big assortment of different techniques to help him get back in shape. Now Loki doesn't hobble and can sprint easily again. Josh truly cares for animals and wants them to feel better. I appreciate the work he does. Josh is great!

Our 11 year old lab, Bode, has become stiff and has lost muscle in his rear legs, making it hard for him to move around the house and play at the park. After working with Josh for several weeks and doing exercises at home, Bode is having an easier time moving and sitting/standing which is very important to us. Thank you Josh!

He took her from constant pain and short walks to hiking and trail running again.
