Experiencia fantástica: Memorial Hermann TIRR is a rehabilitation hospital. So all of the negative comments about and ER and having babies... Wrong hospital. Make sure your trashing the correct facility before you make fools out of yourselves. TIRR is an AMAZING hospital. I've seen patients go through therapy there in a coma and wake up like they were having long peaceful nap. I've also seen and heard stories of people who were literally brought back to life, put back together when completely broken and they WALK out of TIRR. I would recommend anyone who needs OT/PT to go to TIRR.

Experiencia fantástica: I give a definite (5) I had a stroke and actually died was on life support for three days at another hospital where they said I would never walk again my girlfriend contacted TIRR I was there for five months I can now walk without any assisted device/no facial droop no arm curl like I had when I got to them they are tough but it is all about your recovery I good go on and on about them and their excellence and my experience with them but I think I made my point THANK YOU TIRR FOR NOT GIVING ON ME SINCERLY JOB WELL DONE CHRIS SMITH!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My pappy Rodney Zalobny was nearly dead by contracting sepsis disease and was misdiagnosed for shingles by drs in caldwell. Thanks to drs in Bryan they put him on life support for 32 days and finally concluded it was sepsis but, too late. My granny then had him transported to TIRR and after 35 days there he is now totally self sufficient. He is completely deaf because of the sepsis which could have been treated . he is now going through ear implants. Thank you TIRR for saving my Pappy

Experiencia fantástica: What can I say? TIRR is the most bang for your buck for a spinal surgery patient like me. Marie the PT has calculated my weight and limitations before every session and makes sure my safety is most vital while I was there. Sarah the OT shown me a professional standard with a smile when she helps me build my balancing and strength. Medical staff is on point with my condition and meds needed to take before going through my sessions. It is not to say rehab was easy because of course it's hard to go through the process gaining your formal strength. It is what you make out of your stay and mentality is important for rehabilitation. My experience here at TIRR was made me feel I was not alone in my quest to recover spinal surgery. Excellent instructions and makes you feel like they're good friends who want to help pick you up when you're down. I'm stoked for my outpatient visit coming up -Q

Experiencia fantástica: TIRR, is where I did my rehabilitation after my fatal car accident, when my oldest brother died. This was Christmas Day of 1981and my brother died on April 1st of 1982. When I was transferred to TIRR, I was only 15 years old and just woke up out of my closed head injury . I was a model for TIRR in the Texas Medical magazine and was praised for my artwork. I learned how to drive with hand controls their in Downtown Houston and exercise with long leg braces. After 42 years, not a day goes by of my memories of waking up and starting my life over again. Do they still have transfer class to the Herman Park Zoo? This was one of my favorite things to do, while in TIRR. They also had MAD day, modified awareness day, where certain celebrities came to visit the patients. My social worker was the best and possibly responsible for the activities, but had her own issues, bless her heart. She was dating a radio DJ and my doctor found her unresponsive. Still trying to accomplish my goals with my book. Just writing this helped me feel better and grateful ☺️. Thank you TIRR for my past adventure. This is me in highschool on Initiation day as a senior in highschool. A freshman pulling my wheelchair 1984.

Experiencia fantástica: My Dad was lucky to go to TIRR inpatient. He went in on a stretcher and walked out. It was amazing. He could not even sit up when he arrived. I am so grateful for everyone on there. All the PT, OT, speech therapy, physiologists, nurses, nurses assistants and drs are so amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: TIRR is the best place ever for anyone that they can accept. The doctors are top knotch at what they do and yes their might be some discrepancies about certain things but from my experience your going to get that from anywhere. From the doctors to the janitorial staff I think this is the best place on earth for a spinal cord energy such as myself to whatever the doctors handle. I love this place and my doctor at the time Dr Jole Frontara was amazing. Now I’m living in my own and drive a car and I owe it to my lord and savior as well as tirr memorial Herman. This place is the greatest by far hands down. Butttt! The parking is ridiculous and hi in cost to have family or significant others visit. Other than that , it’s the greatest place on earth.

Experiencia fantástica: My mother received rehab at Tirr after receiving horrible care at Nexus Specialty Hospital in the Woodlands. We did not know what to expect. Tirr definitely exceeded our expectations and helped my mother!!! Thank you Tirr!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband was in a motorcycle accident on July 23rd, 2021, and while he was in the ICU at Memorial Hermann TMC I was told he would benefit from being placed here for his recovery after being discharged from the IMU. I read the reviews and really got close to almost not sending him here, but in my opinion, TIRR helped me get my husband back. They are very thorough with evaluations and therapies. He had TBI (traumatic brain injury) and if I had to put a number on it, I would sat he's 80% back to his normal self. I will forever be grateful to TIRR for the work and effort they put into his recovery and I don't think he'd be where he is today without them. I have a few techs we remember by name, even though we had plenty of them during his two month hospital stay, that stuck with us. Nicole Rocha (nurse tech) made a special place in our hearts and is one my husbands remembers fondly for her help and care for us both. I can honestly say she made it easier for my husband and I's transition into our new routine while there. 10/10 would recommend sending your loved ones here if you have the opportunity, I'm not going to say they preform miracles but they get pretty dang close.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband was transferred from Ben Taub Hospital to TIRR with a spinal injury in March of 2021. I give TIRR all the praises for his recovery. The nursing staff, physical therapist, occupational therapist, took excellent care of him..They commuicated with me every step of the way.

Experiencia fantástica: I was a hair stylist in Houston 1992. I volunteered at this hospital. I have never gotten so much for any place I've ever experienced in my life. It saved my life. The patients I cut their hair told me so many things I wore both seat and my lap belt. The seat belt was attached to the door. Long story short in the blink of an eye i was hit. I hit door so hard the window exploded and i was hanging out kissing asphalt. Aside from lap belt. The one I never used until my working at the TIRR hospital. God bless you all there. I always think of those faces.

Experiencia fantástica: back in october I had a stroke and since day one all the staff were super nice to me I was anle to fell they love rheir job pthen I got transfer toin patient for a month an thanks to my wonderful therapist I was able to get out w some knoledge on how to continue w my therapy and They were I have no words to thank them ots ptsabd nursestgey love what they do its not hust a job for them they care about patients

Experiencia fantástica: Seems there are reviews for the wrong hospital mixed in here. Memorial Herman Hospital and TIRR Memorial Herman are not the same. With that said, my son spent a month at TIRR Dec 2018-Jan 2019 after a severe tbi and stroke from the tbi. He was paralyzed on his right side and had cognitive, speech, visual and memory deficits as well. They had him taking his first real steps (with assistance on the right leg) on the second day he was there (this was 3 and a half months after his injury) within the first 2 weeks there he was freely moving his right limbs. Before he left, he was transferring himself from bed to wheelchair, bathing himself with a some assistance, feeding himself more steadily, problem solving and his speech had improved. He was also wheeling himself in his wheelchair. The therapists and doctors were amazing and the nurses that took care of him were always so sweet to him (and us.) Highly recommend for brain injury and stroke rehabilitation.

She helped me to want to live again !Sustained Injuries serving the military!as a event planner(MWR} Karaoke night the base was attacked! 2008 ! In Iraq {The building took a direct hit with 200 Soldiers in an old airplane hanger! 100 service member injured 3 killed, i was 1 of 9 life lighted! 6 Surgeries orthopedic , rebuilt facial nerve, brain trauma{ TBi} Cervical dystonia} I can not say enough about how smart and caring a doctor she is! Experiencia fantástica: I spent a month In Tirr the nursing on the 2nd floor were so nice to me the physical therapy was so helpful to me I was paralyzed on my left side and some on my right side Kelsey was my physical therapist she helped me to walk again. That place is the place to go for a broken neck, and a spinal injury. They feel like family by the time you leave..

Experiencia fantástica: My experience at TIRR was positive in every way possible. First of all Dr. Wenzel was very knowledgeable. When my husband and I got home after seeing her the first time he said WOW she gets it, she really understands! She understood things that I wasn’t even able to put into words. I knew she had my best interest at heart and she truly cared! She listened and she was able to direct me in the way I needed to go to set me free from the bondage that my disability brings. Some of which I brought on myself because I just gave up on some things. One thing I can say about TIRR is THEY GET IT and they help. They opened up a new world for me! When I was at TIRR we went to a park and threw a ball and I actually batted and I hit the ball. That wasn’t all, when I got to the park I felt the breeze on my face, I heard the laughter and cheering and encouragement of Erin over all, I felt the energy! I was overwhelmed with the beauty, the laughing people, the green grass and trees, I saw a hawk and a flock of birds. They gave me back something I had thought was gone. They showed me how to experience freedom, to be the best that I can be! They know how to get you to that point! In my experience my PT and my OT are the best. I had Lauren and Sarah. They worked together to strengthen and encourage me. It wasn’t easy, Lauren my pt, is tenacious, she doesn’t get angry, she just doesn’t let go of what she knows is in the best interest of her patients. Sarah saw way to help me meet my goals. She helped me see things in a different way. I loved everybody but I felt that Dr. Wenzel and Sarah could see who I was on the inside and each one used their expertise to unlock that person on the inside. I can’t forget speech therapy, I knew I didn’t have a problem there. (HA)I always talked soft and just cause my husband couldn’t hear me scream if he was in the next room didn’t necessarily mean I had a breathing problem and the fact that I had been bedridden for the past 3 years, that didn’t mean I had breathing problem, right? Hahahaha Of course I needed help! I had no idea how much help I needed. It was here that I first felt my core muscles engage. I’m so thankful for Michelle’s patients. The floor that I was on was the 5th floor which I have lovingly renamed the “Hallmark floor” they are the best! The first nurse I meet was Elizabeth, she had bunny ears on to celebrate the Easter holiday and a sparkle fanny pack and a smile that not only lit up the room but it also warmed up my heart. I was put at ease from that moment on. I can’t remember all of my nurses but I do remember they were all kind. Everybody needs to make money to live but a patient can tell if a nurse, or any healthcare provider for all that matters, is there for the money or truly there to help people and everyone I met had a passion to help people. I then met Dr. Terry, well it was obvious he loved what he does. He let me know from the start he was on my side and to let him know if there was anything he could do to help. It seems he was always there. I tried to take pictures of all my nurses because each one meant a great deal to me! I have some pictures I will send with this text but there are so many more. May 2, was mine and my beloved’s 16th wedding anniversary. It was very important to me and I was blessed by the love shown to me by my TIRR family, and I do mean family, because that is what they are to me. My doctor, several nurses, occupational therapist, therapeutic recreation, speech therapy and cafeteria staff and many more made this happen! My husband was totally surprised. This was the most memorable anniversary! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and everyone! Reuben is, well I can’t imagine my life without him. He means the world to me! He is the love of my life! My heart will forever be his, till death do we part! A special thanks to Dr Wenzel, Terree, Sarah Richardson, Darian, and Emily Young

Experiencia fantástica: My father was admitted here as an inpatient. Nurses and nurse techs are all sweet and nice! One person is allowed to stay over night. They have a cafeteria that’s open from 10-8. Parking is expensive, but I mean it’s the medical center. PT/OT/Speech therapy were fantastic. Everyone knew what they were doing! Shoutout to PT: Rachael, OT: Alexa, and Speech: Brandon The doctors were also amazing! Daily rounds were conducted. I even met the CEO in the elevator and saw him around to! Experiencia fantástica: June of 2012 (Right before my 20th birthday) I suffered from a T6 spinal chord stroke (infarction) due to a blood clot. I was a paraplegic. Was admitted into Tirr and it changed my life for the better. Here they taught me how to sit up, crawl, walk all over again. Today because of God, Tirr their hard work and dedication as well as mine. I’m walking again. Working again. Back and school. Highly recommended. Amazing staff. From the kitchen staff, to the doctors, nurses, therapists and technicians.
