Fantastic experience: Since moving to Nebraska a few years ago from out of state, my health overall took a crazy nosedive. After seeing a couple chiropractors, I wound up feeling so much worse and had to give up on my moderately active career for a dull desk job. And even sitting upright all day was becoming been a struggle. Prior doctors misdiagnosed me, even after taking x-rays, and I wound up with even worse lifestyle limitations. I knew they were wrong but they insisted I continue doing the things that hurt me, and I’d leave and the cycle would repeat. I’ve seen Dr. Akerson and Dr. Chapp so far and both have been active listeners, acutely observant, and refreshingly humble. Somehow these two were able to breeze past those apparent red herrings without me explaining anything or even having to see x-rays. They actually take the time to prepare my muscles before performing the adjustment, and I end up moving better while requiring less force. Leaving the building afterwards without any dizziness and soreness from being manhandled because they work smarter is something I’ll never take for granted. If you’re looking for serious chiropractic care, come here before trying anywhere else. Most chiropractors unfortunately are more than happy to put you on monthly autopay, rush through your visits, and expect you back the following week or two forevermore for “wellness.” Run far away and give Excel a chance first. Having you hooked is not what this place is about and they mean it.

I'd been sleeping on the floor for 7 years because of a crescendo in long standing back issues - and I can actually say I am completely "fixed" and sleeping in a bed! Even with significant stress to my back with moving, I am truly shocked that my back does not hurt! And now, he's helping me deal with the after effects of a wicked ankle injury. I would be in a world of hurt without his wisdom and guidance. And, let me give a shout out to the front desk staff as well. So pleasant - every.single.time.

They give me pro-active advice for self-care rather than trying to sell me packages.The doctors offer a thorough diagnostic that's based on observable habits: Other offices sometimes rely on suspicious equipment, infographs, and x-rays but these guys take the time to learn about you and your daily function, and work with your daily routine to help you modify and adjust them, tailoring it to your physical health needs. I've only had 3 visit and sufficed to say, I'm completely invested in these guys and their way of patient care. They're kind and incredible.

Fantastic experience: All the Dr and Staff that are fantastic. They're always willing to work with your schedule to try to get you what you need when you need it. I slept wrong and went from walking like a duck and stiff to finally being able to actually bend and sit for a while with only one visit. It's not perfect yet, but based on my previous results, a visit or 2 more and I won't be able to tell that it was ever a problem. I went months after my last adjustment from them before having to return and it was entirely my own fault. They give you the tools you need to stay in good shape without them but are always will to help when you do need them.

Fantastic experience: I was a skeptic of chiropractic care. I had a nerve pinched in my neck that ran shooting pain down my dominate arm. My friend recommended I see their chiropractor. I shook my head an made the appointment. The doctor made sure to ask me my pain levels ever single time I came in. I came in 3 times a week for like 3 weeks then 2 times a week for 2 weeks and I'm down next week to once a week because my pain level a month or so ago was over a 10 put of 10. The pain dwindled down to a complete 0! I could play the air guitar the last time I went in and every suggestion the doc suggested I took because I am a professional artist and paint constantly and if that was taken from me I'd be devastated. I owe Doctor Chap a lot. Thanks team!

As someone with chronic pain (10+ years) and migraines (lifelong) it has been challenging to find medical providers that are compassionate, excellent at what they do, and are willing to adapt to my needs. Dr. Ferguson does all of this and more. He is skilled, not only in chiropractic, but in many aspects of health and medicine. He answers all of my questions, without ever making me feel rushed, and gives me expert advice that has helped me in areas that no other medical provider has. His support and encouragement has led me to be able to better advocate for myself, which will lead me to life-changing pain relief and overall mental health improvement. His adjustments are much different than others I have received from other chiropractors; he works with the tissues as well as the joints, and I feel lasting relief each time. I am particularly impressed by the decrease in my migraines. I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the moment they answer your first call you get ahold of the front-end staff that start the experience off right. The ladies at the front desk are so positive and kind. I have seen probably 20 different chiropractors over the years and the past 9 years have been such a life-changing experience. Both partners are unique in their own style. For 2 years I lost a lot of feeling in my arm from an electrical shock. I didn’t ever feel like I would get to use my arm properly again. After many appointments they kept pushing forward. One day I woke up and I got 100% of my feelings back and was speechless. Negative experience: Spent 82 bucks on a 10 minute session of “deep tissue work” when you can go to a dedicated business specifically for deep tissue work for 50 bucks receiving a 30 minute session. When explaining my reasoning for cancelling my treatment plan I was immediately hung up on.

Everyone always has a friendly smile, easy to make appointments and it doesn't feel like its a place that just gets patients in, adjust and send em on their way. They inform you about stretches you can do at home to help with the pain between visits. Definitely a great place to get chiropractic care!

Negative experience: Really like Dr. Akerson. He's a great chiropractor and very passionate about what he does. That's the reason this office got 2 stars instead of 1. I actually remembered him from when I saw him at a different office 10 to 15 years ago, which is why I came to see him at Excel. My problem wasn't with the chiropractic care I received. My issue is with them charging my card for an unexpected bill without telling me. I had some severed balance issues and back pain which is what led me to this office. I was hoping to get some relief until I could get in to see my regular GP. However, the cost ended up being more than I could afford weekly, and then we had to have one of our pets put to sleep unexpectedly, which put us under financial strain. So I called the office to let them know I needed to put my treatment plan on hold until after I saw my GP because all of the bills together were overwhelming. Fast forward about 2 weeks, and an unexpected $67 charged appeared on my card from them out of nowhere. I got no phone call, nothing, before I was charged. I was under the understanding they were paid in full at my last appointment. That much money may not be a lot to some, but to me at this point it certainly is. I called their office for an explanation and was told these were unexpected charges left over after insurance was filed. Okay, that's fine, but why tell me I'm paid up and then just charge me out of nowhere for this without so much as a phone call? I asked if it was their policy to charge customers without their knowledge and was told I would need to talk to the billing department. I wasn't aware there was an actual billing department as the girls at the front desk handled all my payment and insurance questions, and they were the ones answering the phone. Part of this was my fault for letting them keep my card on file, but I just assumed I would be called if any unexpected charges came up. This put me in a bad position financially, and I can't let that happen again, so I won't be returning to this office. Unfortunate because I have anxiety at the chiropractor, and Dr. Akerson was someone I trusted, which is why I went back to him after all that time.

Fantastic experience: Ive been a patient of Dr. Ackerson for quite a few years. I became a patient because of an injury and Dr. Ackerson was highly recommended. Upon my first consultation with him, he stated his goal was to never see me again. I was shocked. But after your first appointment you’ll understand. He looks at things from a bigger picture. It’s not just about fixing your current condition. It’s about your body and your overall health and the steps you can take to improve yourself. When I go to Dr. Ackerson to get an adjustment, I end up getting an education about my overall body and mental health. I know there are other clinics in town but this is the only one for me. The entire clinic is very professional and most important for me, very friendly. I judge a doctor and clinic by the bedside manner. Dr. Ackerson and the Excel clinic has over exceeded my expectations.

I am then seen by a well-trained, caring professional who makes the appropriate adjustments. They are also amazing at getting an appointment for me when my schedule permits.

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr. Ferguson for almost a year now and he has help me so much with my neck, shoulder, and hip pain. From being a college athlete to now work on my feet 10-12 hour a day in a vet clinic, I would end my days with sharp pain if I moved wrong. Fantastic experience: Cliff notes synopsis: If you have pain, stiffness or immobility, try this place first before you go to an orthopedic surgeon! I had issues with my hip, both shoulders, and forearm, to the point of not being able to exercise. I can now enjoy exercise again almost pain free. Longer review: I came here knowing I had significant arthritis and labral tears in my shoulders, a labral tear in my hip, and tendonitis in my forearm. There are two areas involved in getting you better. One is what the provider can do for you, and the other is what YOU can do for you. A lot of Chiropractors don't even do the first, they'd rather keep you temporarily happy but still "ill" so that they can make money off repeat visits. Very rarely will you find one that cares enough to go so far as to help you do the latter. Dr. Akerson is that Chiropractor. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the biomechanics of the body. He accurately and correctly assessed my issues and came up with a treatment plan. Contrary to a lot of chiros, Dr. Akerson doesn't want to see you weekly for perpetuity. He wants you to take what you learn and move towards a new lifestyle and habit structure that let's you become permanently better. Shoulders: A chiropractor cannot fix every issue. I have some shoulder issues that, due to cartilage loss, level of tear, and cysts, will need to be addressed in a different route. But what Dr. Akerson WAS able to do for me is address postural and muscular imbalances that contributed towards that pain. In addition, those changes will make any surgical repairs necessary be that much more likely to be successful as I won't be adding those problems back into the mix again once fixed. My pain level has dropped significantly (around 25% of what it was when I came in) despite the underlying structural issues still present. Hip: My hip feels 100%. He was able to use active release therapy to free everything back up again, and taught me how to stretch and do what I can to keep those muscles in balance and working correctly. Forearm: Pain is 90% gone. I had active release done here as well which helped a lot. They also did some ultrasound stimulus to the area. I think I may have a cyst or something on the tendon/bone attachment area here that could be contributing to this. For now I can do what I want and not even think about it. Posture: I had pretty terrible posture and Dr. Akerson was able to adjust me to get my shoulders/shoulderblades/spine/neck/back/hips into a proper alignment. This alone has helped a lot with aches I didn't even realize I had until they were gone. Lifestyle: Dr. Akerson is very knowledgeable about nutrition/lifestyle tips to help you on your journey to feeling better. This is a big factor as well that is easily overlooked by many. Everyone at this facility I interacted with was genuinely nice to deal with and were able to answer any questions I had. I am tapering off my visit frequency now due to the great progress I've made while being treated over the last two months. Even when fully better and feeling great, I still plan to check in with him once every six months or so just maintain the proper direction for my body and maintain the progress I've realized. It's a small price to pay for the wellness you gain.
