Fantastic experience: The best place for a person like me with need for neuro rehabilitation after TBI. After a car accident, I was in coma for 7 monthes. After that , I wasn’t able to move my hands and legs as my muscles were gone. I needed to rebuild my strength. When I first time came to NRC my mom brought me in the wheelchair. I could not walk or even stand on my own securely. Thanks to Kim and her team , month after month I’ve been doing constant progress. It is almost a year and half and I am still under Kim wings. At this moment, I am walking without my mom holding me. I have still a lot problems with balance but mKim is working on it. Because of the pandemic I have been continuing with virtual therapy which is great alternative. I highly recommend NRC. If not for them, I would be still in wheelchair.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about the staff at Marquette Neuro Recovery Clinic! Our PT is the best! When our world changed and everything around us closed down they were one of the first places to adapt to the change and offer virtual sessions to their clients. So grateful for MNRC and for the caring staff that thinks about clients first. Thank you for all you do for us!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE Anne and all the wonderful work she has done with my son!! We switched last summer, and the progress I have seen is beyond anything we've seen anywhere else! Anne clearly communicates where he is at using metrics that are easy to understand and track as he makes progress, with clear goals. For other therapies, my son is extremely reluctant to go (aka refuses outright), but he is always happy during his time with Anne - she takes time to get to know he likes to do and talk about, and blows me away with all the ideas and toys she comes up with to work with him towards his goals using his (unrelated to physical therapy) interests. She is so sensitive to his feelings, and notices the subtle changes when he is starting to lose interest, or get annoyed or discouraged, and she changes tracks. She pushes him just hard enough that he gets out of his comfort zone, but not so hard that he gets upset or discouraged (which happens so easily in real life). She works with us to find a time that made sense for our schedule. She comes up with ideas for things that we can get at home that might encourage him to participate in physical activities, or resources that might be helpful to us. Anne is so empathetic, positive, engaging, intuitive and fun, and I am so grateful for everything she has done with my son - I couldn't recommend her more!!

Fantastic experience: A serious TBI took us to every other program within a 50 mile radius and beyond. Although kind, passionate and knowledgeable therapists could be found at every other hospital we have been to, there is a marked difference in the quality of equipment used at Marquette. It is of a higher level of technology. Once you see the harnesses used for people finding their balance you will be shocked know anyone anywhere operates without one. Marquette is the only program in the greater Milwaukee area with the equipment required to help your loved one reorient and recover balance to walk again. If you find yourself caring for a loved one in need of Neurorecovery go to Marquette where the expertise and equipment are truly state of the art.

Fantastic experience: Anne has been seeing our son for a little over 2.5 years now. As an infant he was not achieving early developmental milestones that are pivotal for his long term development. We were doing PT at another clinic initially and their approach was “just keep putting him on his stomach” despite his adverse response. . . Anne took a neural developmental approach to understanding why he wasn’t able to do that and gave us steps and skills as parents to facilitate our child’s developmental needs. During that time she identified other needs for our son, connected us with the right professionals, advocated for us and our son, to ensure that all of his needs were met. She helps you see the bigger picture of how these things not only effect a child in the short term, but why we strive for the bigger picture of his long term development and success as a child. Anne is not just a PT, she truly is a caregiver, an educator and an advocate. On top of being an amazing PT she’s also a professor, so you know that she is constantly pushing herself to stay abreast of the latest research and treatment techniques to ensure she is pushing the next generation of professionals to do their best for their patients. I can’t recommend her enough!

Fantastic experience: We couldn’t be more satisfied with our decision to pursue therapy at the Marquette NRC. The professionalism, efficiency and attention shown to each individual is something you don’t see often. Additionally, the quality of care, state of the art equipment and fantastic staff provide a great overall experience. We are so grateful to have found a resource that understands the complexities of spinal cord injuries. Rose is a blessing to us. We can’t wait to see what goals can be achieved under her care.

Fantastic experience: Our daughter has been receiving pediatric PT from Anne Pleva since she was 6 months old. She is now 7 and making incredible gains because of the attentiveness to detail and responsiveness to questions that Anne has always provided. We couldn’t be happier with the NRC and the services they provide. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for therapy! Anne is definitely one of the finest pediatric PTs in the area. Even the people who work in billing take extra time to call and talk to families about what services would cost and how insurance will cover those services. That is just another reason we are so happy with what the NRC offers. We were so fortunate and blessed to find Anne so many years ago - she has been part of our lives and has always given advice and recommendations about other things our daughter needed from Speech to OT. She is truly concerned about the whole child.

Fantastic experience: I cannot share enough about how incredible Kim and all of the other people from the Neuro recovery clinic are. From day one they got me on my feet and helped me to walk after I had not walked in over two years. The videos that I shared with everyone who knows me brought tears to their eyes as well as my own while it was happening. Always positive the workers at the MU - NRC are a blessing here on earth. My only regret is that I didn’t meet them sooner. If you or someone you know needs this type of therapeutic help don’t waste anymore time and contact them ASAP!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been so impressed with our experiences at the NRC -- the staff has gone out of their way to accommodate pediatric needs so our daughter could access their equipment as part of her ongoing physical therapy sessions at MU. The staff finds the perfect balance of encouragement and support to motivate (even the tiniest!) clients!
