Experiencia fantástica: I want to leave a review for my physical therapist, Hein Kyi. He has been absolutely incredible in helping me recover. Hein is not only a good listener but also very easy to talk to. His knowledge and expertise are impressive. He gets five stars! I'd rate the clinic a solid 4 stars, although there are areas that could use improvement. Scheduling appointments can be challenging, and it would be preferable if costs were charged promptly, within weeks rather than months. However, I was informed that they are actively working on enhancing both processes. Hopefully, by the time you visit, these issues will be resolved. On a positive note, the front desk workers are highly helpful, and the clinic maintains a clean and tidy environment.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patient at Select Physical Therapy at 1700 California Street in SF for the past six weeks and am very impressed with their staff and services. They have helped me improve my fitness, which in turn has allowed me to stop being in constant pain. I particularly appreciate physical therapists Rocio Brito, Rehan Aziz, and Hein Kyi. I also want to mention the amazing Kelly at the front desk. Without Kelly’s help I would still be waiting to see a therapist. I highly recommend this Select office.

Experiencia fantástica: This is my first time there, and when I first spoke to Kelly on the phone, he works in the front desk, he very upbeat, friendly, very helpful, and funny! Monica is my physical therapist, she's very knowledgeable at what she does! I feel really comfortable with her, and she's very gentle. She asks me questions about my pain, and she takes it from there! Also the office is very nice and clean.

He almost immediately identified a possible reason for my lower-back pain that shoots down my leg and designed personalized physical-therapy sessions and at-home exercises. She created an physical exercise recovery routine for my particular injury that has made me feel much healthier. All you add is your decision how many days to exercise in a week.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had been going here for approx 10 months, due to my knee injury. Ali (Alexandria Andrews) is an amazing physical therapist! Knowledgeable, professional, generous, and kind. She devotes her attention and truly cares about her patient’s health improvement. I'm so grateful! After my knee injury, I've felt pain every day - all the time. I've felt very unstable walking or going up/down the stairs. The doctor recommended the PRP injection. I'm so glad I went for physical therapy instead. Ali encouraged me to exercise and I've experienced significant improvement! I've regained my stability and I'm pain-FREE now! The only (mild) pain I feel is when I hike for too long, and that's it. No pain while going up/down the stairs. I didn't even believe that PT could do this for me! I highly recommend this place and Ali p.s. Desk people are super friendly. The office is clean and well equipped.

Roland has been informative, listens to my concerns, and is helping me learn more about what I need to do to engage in the activities I used to before my injury. Experiencia fantástica: Ali is a truly excellent physical therapist. I've seen her for over a year now, off and on, first after a somewhat complicated ankle surgery. She helped me be able to run again, up to a half marathon. I've also seen her for shoulder issues from distance swimming. As an athlete, I can't recommend her any more highly. I recommend her to my injured swimming friends, too. She has the rare ability to really listen to a complicated injury, and break it down to understand it better, and then describe it back to you in a way that makes sense. She's collaborative in tweaking exercises and routines so that they work best for doing them in your own life, and will hold you accountable without being a jerk like some other physical therapists can be. When you're hurt, she's the type of person you want to see. And she's in charge of the office, which runs very smoothly under her, plus the very friendly and helpful Kelly at the front desk. Basically, as high of a recommendation as I can give. I'm very grateful that I finally saw her after a number of other physical therapists.

Experiencia fantástica: [Just for the sake of accuracy this is only for the 1700 California Street location (at Van Ness). ] I recently visited this location for problem with a bout of Achilles tendonitis, and was pleasantly surprised. Kelly at the front desk and Jocelyn (my physical therapist) made me feel like we'd been old friends forever, even though it was our first meeting. Certainly took the anxiety out of an initial visit! Five stars alone for the staff! Any critiques (and it's really more suggestions for improvement) are as follows: 1) (This is only partially a Select PT problem, but an annoyance to me nonetheless!) I have a gateway primary care provider (PCP) that must refer me for services, which is understandable, However I quickly found out that many PT offices didn't accept my Medicare Advantage HMO, even though they were on a list of "acceptable places" covered by insurance. A big pain to call office after office, only to be told, "We don't cover HMO, only original Medicare or PPOs." Again, not Select PT's problem. But...Select PT told me that ONLY the 1700 California Street location accepts Medicare Advantage HMO plans. This is disadvantageous, as it meant a long wait (three weeks!) to get an appointment for a particularly painful condition. I'm assuming there's a corporate/financial reason for this, but honestly, If I were told that and I had a choice of other places with a shorter waiting time, I would definitely go for those other places. Let's face it, most of us don't utilize rehab/PT enough to develop a special relationship with a particular go-to clinic! 2) Even though Jocelyn was incredibly thorough and patient in explaining particular exercises to perform before my next visit, I tended to get a little " fuzzy" at home on how to correctly perform some of them. In the age of YouTube, I feel there should be some type of link to videos that show correct leg placement, etc. That way, we older folks can get a "refresher" on how to do it. I *was* given papers explaining them, but honestly I think vids of these exercises should be a standard of care these days. Again, these are just suggestions for improving care. I've been a nurse for nearly 25 years, and tend to notice things that are barriers to care, especially for older folks. Kudos to Select PT overall!

But seriously, the past six week's treatments with Jocelyn have been amazingly helpful, for my inuriess from a few months ago, as well aches & pains from a few decades ago. Life is too short to live w/ pain, and everyone in this office is ultra professional and friendly!

Experiencia fantástica: Highly recommended. I have worked with Amanda Cubbage at Select Physical Therapy now over three different ,phases. I choose to return again and again, having worked with many PTs and as a person who will actively seek out excellence, because Amanda is excellent at her craft and because she is a phenomenal partner for me. As you would expect of a great PT, she knows the body, has a big library of exercises, and has seen many patients go through recovery paths for a host of different frequently occurring sports injuries. She integrates techniques beyond traditional PT in thoughtful and useful ways that accelerate healing. She listens well to me and understands that her work is to help me do what I need to do to heal. And she builds a relationship. After a couple years working with her, I feel very welcomed when I come to Select Physical Therapy and when I come to see Amanda. She feels like a friend.
