Experiencia positiva: Updated review (3-star): Received a call from the owner personally apologizing for the situation, he explained it was likely a training / miscommunication issue with a new intern. While he could not offer a refund, he did propose a solution to rectify the situation. While the solution isn't ideal as I've already paid, I do appreciate the prompt follow-up and attempt at a resolution, so I'm amending my previous review. I would still suggest folks be careful with the "free" initial consult and get clarification on what exactly is free and billed before the service begins. Also clarify what exactly is included in the paid service to ensure it meets your expectations for a paid service. Original review (1-star): I had a pretty good experience with the service itself, and the staff was friendly. However, their billing practices are awful. I signed up for a free consultation on their website, but they charged me $160 for a 15-minute treatment. When I asked about it, they said the free consultation was only for the initial discussion, but they never told me I'd be charged for the treatment. It felt like a total bait-and-switch. They didn't ask if I wanted to pay for treatment or explain when the free part ended and the charges started. In fact, at one point, before starting the pads, I confirmed with Edgar that I was only doing the consult. He agreed and said something to the effect of "we like to help you see what results to expect with treatment" to me which suggested this portion was still in the initial free consult. The treatment itself wasn't anything special – just 5 minutes on some muscle-loosening pads and a quick adjustment. I don't feel it was worth $160. I'd warn anyone considering this place to ask about all costs upfront to avoid a similar surprise.

Experiencia fantástica: I was absolutely blessed in finding Dr Barak Mezan and his entire team of sports medicine professionals. I have scoliosis from birth which sets my life at a disadvantage. Despite yoga, Pilates and the gym I still managed to pop a rib out of joint in my spine after lifting my 70 lb senior dog into my truck. It caused severe near paralyzing muscle spasms. The kind of pain that make you see stars and cut off your breath. I was immediately attended to by the staff upon arrival. Dr Mezan and team worked on me for two hours. I went through a series of treatments that included shockwave therapy, tens unit with heat, massage chair all to aid relaxion and preparation of my overly tense muscles in order to successfully allow the chiropractic adjustments needed to realign my rib back into place. Infrared Cupping rounded out my therapy. I walked out 90% improved. I went back two days later for a final adjustment before my long journey home. Dr Mezan made sure my journey didn’t end with him. He set me up with his physical therapist who gave me exercises and stretches to continue my recovery and overall future spine maintenance. The piece de resistance was the shockwave therapy. Sounds crazy but it worked. I’ll forever be a twisted mess however I am recovered and am working on my spinal health and maintenance. I will be forever grateful for the dream team in Ft. Lauderdale. He also appears to have identified and fixed a nagging vasogenic orthostatics hypotension problem by repositioning my subluxed C4-C5 of my cervical spine. I have not had an episode of near syncope since having seen him. I usually C4C5 keeps the diaphragm alive and in my case it prevents the drop attacks.

I’ve implemented what I learned, and I genuinely believe that’s a big reason I haven’t needed immediate follow-up care since returning home. Carpe Diem is an incredible place. They offer everything you need to feel better, but more importantly, they empower you to take control of your own health. The support staff is equally impressive—friendly, professional, and always making sure you feel at ease. From the receptionist to the techs assisting with therapy and stretching, everyone contributed to a fantastic experience. Yes, the services are a bit pricier than I’m used to—but when the results are this good, it’s worth every penny.

After listening to my complaints and conditions of the body he offered me just some very soft body stretch instead of massage that I wanted and asked the lady even to wait longer in lane to get to him and then right after me he did a full massage session to the man with all equipment and services. I mean, I should feel grateful that it was free and I got some trial of little stretching but basically left regretting instead that I’ve skipped the yoga and offered and left without proper attention to my needs after I saw how he treats another customer after me. I don’t know how they judge on regarding how much attention to give you and time to devote to you but I guess not far… I felt empty instead of feeling valued or any better in my muscles on inside. That’s for trying anyways of what’s your service looks like and feels like!

After a heat pad, tens machine, and an adjustment I came out feeling much better. They were able to lay out a comprehensive plan of what I need to do to correct my neck and spine, involving weekly visits. Talking to everyone in there I quickly realized that not only is everyone extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and capable, but they actually care about their patients and aren’t just trying to make a quick buck off an adjustment. Not only did they work on my back but Guy e-mailed me midtrip to see how I was doing. He scheduled an appointment on the Saturday of the disembarkment ,on his day off, to make sure I would make it home okay. I can't thank Guy enough. Carpe Diem is awesome.
